A better argument might be, rest Allen in week 18 and get BTFO'd the ***** out by the Patriots. Illustrate the difference between Allen and next-man-up.
The national voters spoke last year:
Kincaid in particular, why go up and get a guy R1 and use him like in the passing game like Lee Smith on these 4 yard stick routes and lateral screens, while a LaPorta (next TE selected) is running roughshod all over the place.
Talking not about those but the handful of other plays where he had an obvious answer in the flat or short over the middle but instead of being on time with it decided to pull it back and drift himself into a position where he had nothing and had to make an ultra-low percentage throw or just dirt it. Think more in terms of the 2nd and 3rd down on the 2nd series of the first drive, not the arm punt or the Shakir thing (although there was a higher percentage option available). Not that the Bills receivers were open much but when they were Allen wasn't seeing them today.
I saw #44 and #48 on special teams. If you want to save Dorian, but you don't want to see Bail Inspector on the field (you shouldn't) then there were options.
