  1. I live north of Tampa... you aint a lyin... its not only viciously hot... but its air you can wear... you can literally watch it move as you walk... Early September is like our Jan/Feb in Buffalo... you can go outside.. but in a limited capacity.. and on the 8th day God created AC... one other item of note... early Sept is PEAK Hurricane season and even if you dont get a direct hit the effect can stretch the entire coastline...
  2. and you realize how much you are gonna hate yourself for watching it... but..... you are gonna watch it... 😆🤣... I had a similar experience in Vegas.. My wife loves Donnie and Marie... I of course would rather have a root canal... I pull into the Bellagio and across the street at the Flamingo is literally a picture of Donnie and Marie as big as the entire front of the hotel... I tried like hell to get her to face away from it... but she saw it in like 3 seconds... and I was like aww sh)t...
  3. I can see them doing one for the Sabres.. like a Lucifer type movie that moves the people that get traded here into Dante's inferno's 7th ring of he double hockey sticks...
  4. There is no doubt there will be a difference of opinion in some of the catagories for sure... good call on the Dawkins White Zay thing... I sometimes mix up the era... cause Whaley was in the room and Beane came after... its all blurring in my mind at this point... I have different thoughts on Oliver, but I am certain there is plenty of people with an opinion closer to yours... He could also be in the developing catagory I am interested to see how he plays with a dominant DT next to him... he may push through... I am however disappointed in him last year for sure.
  5. I think Beane is very good at picking off player rds 4-6 where your bar for success is getting a player that contributes consistently with the odd excellent player... where he is not good is rounds 1-3 where your bar for success is a consistent starter and a high quality contributor with a good amount of game changers... where you get you difference makers... So just a quick grouping for Beane's 1-3 I am sure there will be some disagreement in where people are placed... there is no science here.. but from my perspective he drafted 4 game changers and 4 really solid core pieces... then lots of misses and serviceable players that really underwhelm for where they were picked... and then lots of underwhelming but there is hope I hope... players. But last years draft produced no real help at all in rds 1-3... you dont want to do that too many drafts... anyways just my opinion. Stars - Allen, Dawkins, Cook, White Hits - Rousseau, Spencer Brown, , Bernard, Torrence Misses Zay Jones, Cody Ford , Epenesa, Zak Moss. Basham, Elam Not a total miss but underwhelming for the pick - Singletary, Knox, Oliver, Edmunds, Phillips, Underwhelming/Developing - Coleman, Bishop, Carter (like this just cannot happen all 3 and no one really makes a difference...in 1 draft) Kincaid, Williams
  6. I am not totally on board with this... I think a division winner has to make the playoffs otherwise, why have divisions... just do a conference seeding... however, there is no way an 8-9 team should host a playoff game against a 13-4 wild card team that lost a tie breaker in their own division... thats just my opinon... Bottom line from a competition stand point I am good with the reducing the benefit of winning a division just not eliminating it...
  7. Wait until 12.000 empty seats show up for the Sabres games this year LOL... I know wrong sport but I had too...
  8. So I am gonna be an optimist here... WR sometimes need some time to develop in transition... So before I draw conclusions I would really like to see how he comes out this year... did he go to school, learn and start to hone his craft... do I see significant improvement and honestly commitment from him.... if not then I am probably ready to compare him to the James Hardy pick LOL... not a lot of patience for someone whose commitment seems to be being questioned by management... like I never see them call people out... and they came pretty close at the end of last season... He is young, maybe he learned a lesson... but if he didnt he is gonna move to a depth piece and then fade away within 2 years IMO...
  9. Oh dont even say it LOL... but wouldnt it be awesome if it were actually us that got Czonka and Kuch and whomever is left to not have Cigars and Champagne every year...
  10. I agree... and I love how you go by last years w/l to determine it... Like, there is really no other way to do it... but SOS really isnt known until the season is over... there are always surprises, injuries etc... just go win...
  11. tailgating is not what it is here... maybe fine a bar to pre and post game?
  12. I think you are right.. he was making the look what I can do for a young QB play... put up big numbers say he did the same thing for Allen, I can do this for you too... and grab for the bag this year.. Didnt work out that way for him...
  13. I love these.... although when they did the Red Helmet with the White standing Buffalo that was horrible... please dont do that.
  14. I would say it depends... if it coincides with your short term injuries its a huge bonus.... if it doesnt I dont think it matters much unless it is really early in the season... and even then if it is corresponding with short term injuries it still works... bottom line is maybe but not really...
  15. Feels weird saying last... like it is... but it doesnt seem real...
  16. I would get a Vonte Davis, Anquon Boldin, Percy Harvin, Doug Marrone in the image of Mt Rushmore tatoo... but none of the above choices...
  17. Cooper, Douglas, Poyer, probably others (like maybe Morse despite theoretically retiring) .... I am just not in get the band back together mode... we didnt win a superbowl with them and we needed to get better... did we? Not sure in especially the safety position we have... So, no lets not bring these folks back unless they provide us with an immediate upgrade to our team and dont cost us a ton of cap... this means to me... I am fine bringing Poyer back... IF we find ourselves in a stretch of the season where we have injuries and he is the BPA to help us... at the right price... Same thing with Coop as well as Douglas... although he could be a temporary upgrade to some in theory but not a big enough upgrade to justify shaking up the "band" at this point and stifling development of younger players... But, there is value in folks knowing the system and the team... so no, not nostalgia but If MCBeane think the situation warrants it due to poor circumstances I am fine with i it as a band aid... to do this now and make them part of the plan for success (investment, playing time/Starter. sacrifice young players development etc....) to get you over the top... Hard No. Pull you out of a bad spot... sure.
  18. Congrats and condolences Quentin... glad you found a spot... but in recent history Buffalo Bills making the transition to Florida havent worked out well... just sayin...
  19. I agree here... I dont think cook is getting that... but that doesnt mean he wont ask for more.... I have heard rumblings (from his brother of course) no less than now 20mm... we gonna wait an see how this plays out... but I think Beane values Cook... how much Beane values Cook is not likely to be as much as Cook and Cooks Brother value Cook lol...
  20. Top 5 5 - Oakland Raiders pre season game 1973 second game after stadium opened I was 5 4.- Goal Post Miami game divisional playoff win 3.- Jets -23 windchill game (dont ask me why... I think I proved my die hard fandom that day lol) 2.- Bills beat Chiefs in AFC championship game Montana all but retires after a Bruce Smith sack the "I am getting to old for this s$%t game" 1. - 51-3 Bonus Game (because i just remembered this and top 6 seems dumb) Goal post game in 88 Bills over Jets in OT with Smerlas blocking late field goal Yes, I may or may not have participated both goal post festivities depending upon the statue of limitations I admit to nuthink ...
  21. I remember after 1 pre season game how Jeff Tuel was gonna be our new savior.... so dark... soooo dark... back then...
  22. I think the Steelers are in a quandry, they need to get a franchise guy but Rodgers, Winston and even Cousins are not gonna be that... but they win too many games to really be in contention for a top pick... So, I feel like they go with whom they have (unless a Rodgers comes in) accumulate draft capital (Pickens trade etc..) and try to move up from middle of the pack to top 5-10 and get one.... in the mean time at least try to field a competitive team... but not be devastated if they go 6-11... I just dont think they are looking for a moderate upgrade that isnt gonna get them to the SB any sooner... bottom line very confusing situation over there... and I felt like the Justin Fields combo with Wilson last year was to at least take thier shot at a potential top end qb... but now Fields is gone... maybe they were like, yeah.. but no... not our guy... Lastly, is Tomlin... I feel like he is being set up to fail a bit here... 1 more year and if there is no progress he is gone and the new coach picks the new QB... But in the end who knows what is going on over there...
