I assume that this friend has no ties historically to anything that would relate it to being offensive but it would be disingenuous to think that someone who is attached to it wouldn't view it that way. Washington eventually caved in and changed their team name years and years after refuting numerous attempts from the demographic that expressed how it was insulting. Even Cleveland changed to the Guardians... Just because a majority can overlook it and classify it to their liking doesn't mean that it isn't in poor taste.

I mean Brady literally was the epitome of a player to be despised and hated to a much higher degree by Bills fans for almost 2 decades and I don't recall him being depicted that way. Also there was a racially motivated mass shooting in the city not too long ago. Subtlety definitely plays a role in how it is perceived...however, those whom that imagery/optic never had an impact on and can easily place it into a less harmful context will think that it's no big deal.

December 15th at Detroit is the Game of the Year
Bills aPHILLYate replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
If we are walking into that game at basically full strength I'm very confident we take the W. This is presuming we have an intact WR stable, Carter and Milano back, and no new significant injuries. We may very well have a more effective defensive unit than we've been able to deploy over the last 2 years at that point and an offense that is humming. 38-24 Bills -
Cooper says he plans to play Sunday with a cast!
Bills aPHILLYate replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know this isn't a what is the Bills first drive gonna be thread; but I got us first play goin play action with a scramble from Josh for about 12yds That sets the tone for our march down the field ending in a Cook reception td -
Definitely difficult to comprehend because the OP seems to be stated in response to a sentiment that someone expressed otherwise. If that were the case you could've directly responded to the post that expressed that. Instead you made an entire thread to express an accusatory thought based off of a fictional sentiment that nobody expressed. What exactly are we to do with this thread?

I agree with quite a few of your points but the question still poses some complexity... For instance, the Browns could be the easier fix in some regards because they're gonna be buried in that division for the foreseeable future which is somewhat of a positive. This affords them more of a chance to blow it up and attempt a rebuild and establish some sort of foundation during the remaining years of Watsons contract. There are no quick fix options available and this is known. This almost assures them 2-3 drafts alone to find a top notch qb prospect which they should be in prime position each year to have the picks of the litter with no true expectations. They need to be sellers in almost every facet to start righting the ship. They could move Garrett for a kings ransom for starters. The Saints have notoriously kicked the can down the road but are mired in purgatory. They never know if they're buyers or sellers. The issue there is they keep thinking they're a piece away from competing in or overtaking a less solid division and keep repeating the cycle. There are way more expectations in NO in my opinion due to their division but they are perpetually torn between taking their medicine or patching things up. They are convinced there is a quick fix... That presents a way longer road to recovery until they make a solid decision on how to approach their future while that same decision is somewhat dictated and attached to the successes (or lack thereof) of their divisional opponents. I quick voted the Browns but I'm not as certain and that's primarily due to the looming expectations associated with each franchise.

45-13 Bills Josh will have a 5td game

I've had less anxiety about Bass lately but another miss could derail him completely and we won't know what the circumstances will be when he misses his next important kick. I personally have been intrigued by the Rodrigo Blankenship campaign that he has put together on social media. I would hope that we bring him in for a tryout if Bass gets the yips again. I'm also not opposed to signing him to the PS now just for a contingency plan.

It's wild because Josh as his comparison point is the exact reason he is having the career he's having so far. Not every qb with comparable measurables is just gonna come into the league and replicate what Allen has done. Fortunately we struck gold because a lot of teams are using our success story as a baseline metric for hope with some of their qb picks

I for one hope we are able to retain him for the foreseeable future. Him and Davis sorta remind me of the Chris Johnson and LenDale White combo. He takes a lot of pressure off of having to rely solely on a passing game and balances the offense.

Week 8 - Bills @ Seahawks - 1st half game thread
Bills aPHILLYate replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've reserved this comparison because I didn't want to do too much but Keon is an Anquan Boldin type receiver to me. He legitimately has a chance to be the best WR selected in his draft -

I was honestly shocked when I saw so many folks who opposed the red helmets. I would love to see them again. -
So why was Amari Cooper traded twice in his prime?
Bills aPHILLYate replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Those are the reasons for those specific cases but it isn't for the 2nd trade during his prime (Dal to Cle). Dallas wasn't in the dumps when they traded him away. That was purely a misjudgment of the value of the contract goin forward. That's why I offered the other perspective that provides more of a baseline answer regardless of the variables effecting the teams trading him away. -

Bills aPHILLYate replied to PoundingDog's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why he was traded probably has more variables... But if you frame your question from the perspective of "Why did 2 teams trade for Amari Cooper in his prime?", it probably yields more of a consistent answer. Even if you incorporate the Bills for the 3rd trade; it's because he is a #1WR, has consistently been productive and improves the pass catching stable pretty much everywhere he goes- 183 replies

This is exactly what I expected his presence alone to translate to. A proven weapon to account for... Scoring threat... Made impressive catches... Keon has a career day... All of this on 4 days of being incorporated and against a legit defensive unit... We're instantly SB contenders. I stand on that.

Amari Cooper is expected to play on Sunday
Bills aPHILLYate replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have him goin for at least 6 catches 70yds and a TD... 2 of those catches as a result of Josh buying time and Coop finding a hole in the defense -
Context is key when summarized like this... In that 11-14 game rental; what if it's of the 13/14 game variety? That would mean AFCCG or SB appearance correct? Imagine you walk outside and find your favorite car that you bought 4yrs ago is missing and you have a GPS tracker on it... You don't report it stolen because in actuality; you left the windows down with the keys in the ignition so you're technically at fault and might not get anything from putting in a claim with your insurance but you don't have rental coverage either. You also just got new brakes, rotors, a fuel pump, and a tune up because it's been shutting on and off for the last year inexplicably but you don't know what's causing the issue. You begin taking public transportation for a few weeks but you obviously wish you were still driving. Then your insurance company invokes a new policy where you can get a rental in exchange for your bus pass because you're a valued customer! They send you a list of cars to choose from and there's 2 luxury vehicles available. One will skyrocket your premium and is unaffordable, the other is just as good and will allow you to also save up $$$ towards purchasing another car. This is like picking luxury car #2 and the rental place dropping the car off at your front door, with a gas card. They tell you it's yours for the rest of the year and if you like it you can discuss leasing options afterwards but they have to keep your bus pass until you figure it out. At minimum you drive a luxury vehicle the rest of the year. At worst for some reason you decide to return the vehicle and get your bus pass back with some $$$ saved up. I'm certain most teams, owners, GM's and fans alike would jump at the opportunity to pay pennies on the dollar for that kind of in season boost...especially sitting atop they're division

Even with how the next 4 games line up before playing KC is somewhat of a nice acclimation phase. I thought they were winnable without Cooper. Brady has plenty of time to scheme up some packages and get things rolling in the 2nd half. At this point we have 2 outright tough games left (KC & DET) and 2 possibles (SF&NYJ) in my opinion. Considering what you've mentioned, my only concern is Bass goin forward because we can't trust him at all especially in the playoffs.

To not be excited about acquiring a WR of this caliber is quite puzzling to me but to each his own. This is inserting a square peg into a square hole. The need, plus the ability to seamlessly make the transaction work (considering our cap situation) is basically the stars aligning for us. Ignore the coach speak... He is unquestionably our #1 and he will be on the field a majority of the time even if it's just for the defense to account for. The offense improved immensely once the deal was made. This isn't a T.O. and Trent Edwards pairing. We just gave Josh Allen a prototypical WR to work with who is still very much producing and has all the incentive to continue doing so. This could be the beginning of an amazing run. Be excited people!

4-2 after That Strech of Games
Bills aPHILLYate replied to thronethinker's topic in The Stadium Wall
And there's still a chance to rescue Cooper and improve our team at a low cost... But this was a gut check game and despite the refs not doing us any favors, injuries and other adversities; I think we showed something this game. Not certain what to do about the kicker situation but I'm still high on this team as the season progresses and we may show to be an even better team in the second half of the season and make a legit run -
