    “Any given Sunday.” On this particular Monday, Bengals were at home with plenty of momentum and were about to throttle the Bills. Circumstances may change a few weeks down the line, who knows.

    Hopefully it finally translates to the post-season or else Allen will slip into “annual bridesmaid” status. McDermott as Bills head coach has never won a road playoff game.

    True, but that stretch was a gauntlet. 3 of the 4 losses were 1-score games and Tua blew the Packers game post-concussion, presumably. My point here is to say I hope the Bills don’t have to play them a third time in wildcard round if Tua is back. They’re still dangerous.

    And particularly this way. Half their losses are without Tua. Their entire season was derailed by this issue. They have a deep and skilled roster and I’d be curious to eavesdrop into their QB evaluation this off-season.

    Every team and fanbase deals with it. Bills have been more fortunate than most in recent years. The game is brutal.

    I thought the speculation here was that Titans were protecting Willis in a meaningless game against the Cowboys? Bottom line is Willis was never supposed to be a player this season. He’s a talented, incredibly raw, prospect who slid in the draft for a reason.

    Credit to the Bills that in what has felt like a chaotic season, they take the division again with ease. They’ve been able to ride the wave where other contenders were swallowed.

    There’s no Bills advantage to be unearthed here.

    Heading into the season, yes of course. And they’ve been knocked off that throne. Bengals and Chiefs are alive and well and aiming for the top seed in the conference.

    Not daydreaming per se, but certainly recognizing Beane’s mistakes, i.e. duped by Saffold, paying and promoting Bates, committing to McKenzie, and of course reaching for a LB in the third round perhaps at Allen’s expense.

    And they’re getting Bosa back. They have the talent, and perhaps health at the right time, to be that hot team like Bengals last year. AFC is a gauntlet which is why #1 seed is so critical. A statement of the obvious but worth emphasizing.

    What is the basis of your expectation that an NFL player can return to the field 3-4 months after neck/disk surgery? I stated an obvious fact in response to the question posed herein (it’s just a messagebord after all). You’re reaching and so I’m curious.

    The evaluation of Hodgins in Buffalo was that he wasn’t going to move up the depth chart…and that was fair. They stuck with him plenty long on PS. He found an opportunity with NYG and took advantage of it. What’s worrisome in Buffalo is evaluation of guys like Saffold (washed) and Bernard (reach).

    He’s maxed out. He’s a decent depth piece who will leave after his rookie contract. There’s no upside nor turning it around. He’s been more serviceable than I expected.

    That is the absolute best point you can make. I copped out by saying the Chiefs. But would it feel right to make the big game and not beat the Chiefs in the process? Perhaps. Perhaps not.
