  1. They should’ve resumed the game. At this point, these scenarios are so convoluted I’ll take another look Sunday night. Speculating about all this before this weekend’s games doesn’t seem productive.
  2. Pats 24 Bills 27
  3. I had 3 coffees this morning.
  4. Bills/Bengals should be played. Alas here we are. Rather than a structural change, they offered case-by-case solutions. I mean, I guess that was one way of approaching it. It’s best to allow this weekend’s games to play out and then revisit this silliness on Sunday night.
  5. I just hope they actually answered the poor guy’s question about the game!
  6. Yes, we’d have to hope the Bengals started making mistakes and shooting themselves in the feet. But those weren’t good odds.
  7. Bengals were the hottest team the Bills faced. It’s not the same as the Bears scoring on their scripted drive. Bengals talent was overwhelming.
  8. So you’re taking two wins against this gauntlet of an AFC for granted? Just skipping right ahead to the conference championship game? That is an absurd way to spin this.
  9. Neutral site AFC champ game, ok great. Who gets a bye?!
  10. There are now various kinds of #1 seeds in play. One scenario floated was the AFC adding an additional playoff team so that the #1 seed plays the #8 seed and doesn’t get a bye. “Pure” was intended to mean a #1 seed with home field advantage throughout the playoffs and an opening round bye.
  11. True. But we're looking at it from the hypothetical vantage point of the Bills being awarded a pure #1 seed without having to play the Bengals. If a pure #1 seed is awarded, it has to line up from all competitive angles.
  12. Right, so for the sake of competitive integrity, the only way the Bills should be awarded a pure #1 seed is if they beat the Pats and both the Chiefs and Bengals lose. The Bengals should not be penalized the opportunity to overtake the Bills. And the Bills should not be saved from the risk of another loss in what was arguably the toughest game on their schedule.
  13. And if the Bengals had beaten the Bills and beat the Ravens?
  14. It’s funny that for competitive integrity, it’s better the Bills take an L than a no contest. It’d keep hope alive for a pure #1 seed.
  15. I presume in this scenario, the Bills wouldn’t be hit with a forfeit. Yes, I guess it’s still possible if they were to take an L last week and yet still wind up ahead based on this week’s outcomes. So long as it’s announced by tomorrow. Good points all around.
  16. If true, the Bills can’t be the #1 seed with home field advantage throughout the playoffs and a bye. It’d be off the table. 👎
  17. Which reportedly it won’t be unfortunately.
  18. This is a rock solid list. Nice work. Please add: -why did Beane draft Bernard in round 3? -“13 seconds” will continue to haunt
  19. McDermott has done a fantastic job navigating turmoil this season. But there are more deserving coaches already mentioned in this thread based on on-field product/success/improvement. Not everything hinges on feel good sentiments.
  20. Something massive like that is the only possible chance McDaniel is fired. Unless of course there’s something weird behind the scenes regarding medical protocol issues. Dolphins made strides this year and he deserves credit. They may have the deepest roster in the division. Just need to get the QB situation right.
  21. These teams aren’t going to collude and spring arbitrary agreements. The league is communicating with them, but ultimately, the league will make the decision based on what’s best for the league, competitive integrity, and logistics. To think these pros can’t play another football game at Paycor is silly.
  22. The Sunday fan experience thread was made afterwards.
  23. Bears lock up Will Anderson. Good for them.
  24. Bills and Bengals played 5 minutes last week. Everyone else played complete games.
  25. The easiest solution isn't the proper solution. The game should be finished for the sake of competitive integrity. The season still matters. At this point, several reasonable scenarios have been offered to get it played in the next two weeks.
