  1. Honestly, I would have tried to trade Poyer during the draft (maybe Beane did) instead of giving him a big extension. I'm just not sure whether Jaquan Johnson or Damar Hamlin are ready to fill Poyer's role. We can't extend everyone because that's how you get into cap hell in a few years.
  2. The Chiefs just signed him https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/05/02/chiefs-sign-clemson-receiver-justyn-ross/
  3. Joe Haden is still out there and apparently Von has been recruiting him. He's 33 so it would have to be a one-year deal. Elam needs competition and shouldn't just be handed the #2 cb job.
  4. After 4PM today May 2nd, signing free agents will no longer count against the compensatory draft pick formula. This date used to be June 2nd, but it's been moved up this year. While the Bills have very little cap space (we still don't know exactly how much cap our rookies will take up), Beane always knows how to make room using extensions (Poyer?) and restructures (maybe Dawkins) Who do you think the Bills might add post-draft?
  5. We were great on paper last year, but this season I think we become dominant. I think Von will not only get 10+ sacks, but help our young trio of Epenesa, Basham, and Rousseau reach their potential. He will have the same impact on our defensive line that Diggs had on our receiving corps.
  6. This is why NFL Europe was great. Teams could let their prospects get real game experience and give them time to develop. Fred Jackson played for the Rhein Fire and probably wouldn't have had an NFL career without having that opportunity after going undrafted.
  7. If we need to draft a 1st round running back after taking two guys in the 3rd round and one in the 2nd, then something is wrong with our talent evaluation.
  8. I think we'll still address guard with our late picks or UDFA signings.
  9. If the coaching staff can get him to change his punt trajectory to get more hang-time, he could end up being the best punter in the league. Too bad we're not going to punt at all this season...
  10. This is my favorite pick by the Bills so far. Excellent value in the 5th and would be a great addition to 4-wr sets. He's excellent in getting yards after the catch and could be deadly on quick screen passes.
  11. The Jets have drafted really well over the past two seasons. I really think they will be more of a challenge for us than the Patriots.
  12. I really thought this was going to be about trading for Greedy Williams from the Browns 😆
  13. I honestly think the Jets had a really good draft. That should bump them up to #3 in the division.
  14. The Patriots have had a higher success rate drafting offensive lineman than any other position (they can't draft a good wr to save their lives). Their staff will probably turn him into a pro-bowler by his third season.
  15. I really like Leo Chenal as a Klein replacement and eventually an Edmunds replacement. He has room for improvement in coverage, but his physicality is something that can set the tone for our defense.
  16. We took care of our major need so we're pretty much open to any position besides qb. We need interior o-line depth, lb depth, TE depth, and wr depth.
  17. Does anyone know if preseason tickets will be available to non-season ticket holders?
  18. Where's option #3 to watch it through my neighbor's window while drinking a 6-pack on their lawn?
  19. An inside source told me that the draft will be at 8 PM today
  20. Yes, but this year they have #5 and #7 while they have no idea where they'll draft next season. Maybe they trade one of those picks for a 1st rounder in the 2023 draft.
  21. When the Bills needed a qb in 2013 they didn't care that it was an extraordinarily weak year for qb's. They reached and took a guy in the 1st round who probably should have been a 3rd rounder based on his talent. Hopefully the Giants panic and take a qb to develop during Jones' final year. Then teams like the Panthers, Falcons, Seahawks, Commanders, and Texans will over-draft qb's as well.
  22. Good news for the Bills. This just means another team is drafting a qb and pushing talent down the draft board.
  23. The problem with having such an obvious need (cornerback) is that teams may try to leap-frog us at #25 to take the best remaining player at the position. I could see us moving up to ~20 to secure our selection, or moving out of the 1st round if the top 5 cb's are gone.
  24. I just hope Jordan Davis doesn't walk across the stage in that same outfit...
