Is there an NFL team with a weaker WR group than the Bills?
jahnyc replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree that this season for the WRs will be about whether Coleman develops. I assume that Palmer will be one of the two boundary WRs, but I am not sure he can be counted on to be that given his role and prior production with the Chargers. I have doubts that Coleman can be a #1 WR (or even a #2), but we will see. Shakir is great and I expect Samuels to be more effective this year. The question marks are the #1 and #2 WRs. -
Defensive line after Camp, then after suspended players return?
jahnyc replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do Ogunjobi and Hoecht have to be on the final roster at the end of training camp/pre-season before their suspension begins? -
Rapp and Bishop seem to be much more strong safety types, not particularly close to even hybrid.

I don't understand the lack of attention to our free safety position. I don't think we have a true free safety on the roster. Maybe signing Justin Simmons after the draft?

Tyleik Williams said Bills told him they’d take him at 30

The Bills don't seem like the type of organization that would tell multiple players that they will select them if they are there in the first round, so I do mostly believe Williams. Would have been an interesting draft if it had worked out this way because a bunch of the CB prospects were available in the second round (and generally drafted later than expected). Maybe would not have needed to trade up. -
Xavier Watts would be a great pick in the 4th round if still there.

Bills 2nd Rnd pick in 2025 Draft : TJ Sanders - DT South Carolina
jahnyc replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Interesting stuff about his immaturity and attitude. Doesn't really sound like a typical pick by the Bills. Must think they can get him to do what is needed. -
Don't like the pick or the trade up. Really bad value and overpay.

I know we need one or more DTs, but it seems like there is some value with the remaining DEs.

If Grant, Harmon and Nolen were taken before we picked in the first round, I was hoping we would draft Williams. It didn't work out this way, so we will end up with a DT prospect that is less recognized. The way the draft unfolded, I think taking Williams and then taking a CB could have worked out well since a number of highly rated CBs would have been available in the second round, but we are where we are. -
Interesting how the Bills keep a tight ship about who they like and draft plans. Maybe they would have drafted one of the top DTs if available, but very few mocks had them taking Hairston. Bills have a big need at DT, particularly with Ogunjobi out for the first six games and Carter disappointing last season. Not sure any of the DTs left will be plug and play, but whoever they draft will need to be able to be at least a rotational player this season given our lack of depth. I am not optimistic.

That was a killer. Top DTs are off the board. Total bummer night.

Starks would have been a value pick were drafted and would have filled our big hole at FS. I think Green must be off our draft board for off field issues.
-
Wonder if Atlanta is trading up for Starks (UGA).
-
Wanted Grant or Harmon. Very disappointing.
-
Total bummer.

Not counting on any of them being there for us at 30 (assuming we stay at 30). Sal has us taking Tyleik Williams (DT). I would be okay with that.
-
There has been a lot of noise around Nolen, Pearce and Green all having significant off field concerns/issues, which will hurt their draft position.
-
Walter Football has us taking Trey Amos (as does Daniel Jeremiah). I watched a part of the Rich Eisen show from Monday and he was talking up Harmon as being in play for the Jags at 5.
-
I don't think most lf us have a fixation with the "missing" 3rd round pick, but there seems to be a sense that there is no way Beane will be patient enough to wait until the fourth round to make another pick after making the second round selections.
-
This might be the year to trade up if the draft is weak overall and there are not many players with first round grades.
-
I think we have a significant need at DT (1 Tech). We have numbers at both safety and CB, but we need significant upgrades at both positions, particularly at free safety (I think Bishop is a strong safety).
-
I wonder if the Tre signing means the Bills want to target one of the corners with a high ceiling (i.e., Porter) or needing to recover from an injury (Revel), understanding that these corners may need time to adjust (either because of system/experience or health) before being ready to start. The Bills can go with White/Jackson opposite Benford as a bridge until the CB draft pick is ready to be the guy.

Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)

I guess Douglas will not be back. Would have preferred Rasul.- 474 replies

NFL releases list of players attending 2025 Draft
jahnyc replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Will Johnson may go lower than currently expected based on his pro day (did not run) and injury issues from last season.
