Surprised and disappointed that we could not trade for a DT that would be an upgrade from the former Bills players who were in today to try to fill a roster spot. WR was a tougher position to upgrade at this time, although I was hoping for Shaheed because he also would have helped our special teams return game which has been lackluster with Codrington regressing from last season and being inactive. I am happy that the Chiefs did not get Hall from the Jets. That would have been a significant upgrade for them.

11/2/25 GAMEDAY Bills vs Chiefs 4:30pm Gameday Thread
jahnyc replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we will be more susceptible to runs up the middle since both Oliver and Jones are out of the line-up and our LBs are small, but KC, at least up until today, has not shown that as a strength (and Pacheco is out). Will be interesting to see how they game plan against our defense given our weakness at DT and Safety. -
Horrible Year To Be Buyers at Trade Deadline
jahnyc replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know we need a true boundary WR, but give me Calais Campbell and a safety, and I will view that as probably the best we can do considering what talent may be available at the trading deadline. I believe Campbell has a relationship with Rousseau and there must be more available safety talent compared to WR talent. -
Plausible X/#1 receiver trade candidates — are there any?
jahnyc replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jags would be crazy to move BJT even with the poor year he is having so far given last year's performance and being on a rookie deal for at least two more years. Jeudy and other WRs in the mix of suggestions for trades may not be available due to their high dead cap cost if traded by the selling team. -
Plausible X/#1 receiver trade candidates — are there any?

Hoping that Beane's answer to our need at WR is not Brandin Cooks. -
I could be off on this, but weren't there some character concerns raised with BJT before being drafted? I do not recall anything specifically being identified and I may be misremembering.

That chart is a good look for Keon 😱

Plausible X/#1 receiver trade candidates — are there any?
jahnyc replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Beane can always use the injury excuse as to why he needed to make a move at WR. Hopefully, this will give him enough coverage to be comfortable making a move that is critical for the team. -
Sanders and Max need to be quality starters given the draft capital used to draft them. I have a feeling that Sanders will turn out to be average and with Max I have no idea. Some CB draft picks have stepped in immediately but Max does not seem to be that guy (and I know he got injured and missed most of training camp). Wondering if the will be more McKelvin than Winfield. At this point, I will be surprised if Jackson becomes a quality DE. I know that this post is unfair since we are talking about first year players, two of whom have experienced significant injuries, but just an overall feeling having watched numerous cycles of Bills' draft picks and their performances over the years.

There are so few WRs that we would want and even fewer (maybe one (Olave)) that may be available. There is an overall lack of talent in the NFL currently at the boundary WR position. If Olave really becomes available, there will be significant competition to acquire him, and I doubt that we will be the team to offer more for him in terms of draft capital or current players than any other team. -
The Athletic - some grim stats (new Tim Graham piece)
jahnyc replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
At least the defense will have more resources soon. Not sure if this will translate into significant improvements in the areas that we have been so far deficient in, but it is at least something. On the DL, we will have Ogunjobi and Hoecht as additions. Hopefully, Jones will be back soon. At LB, Milano should return for the Panthers game or soon thereafter. At CB, Max should come off injured reserve soon and maybe Strong will be able to return as well. At safety, we have to hope that Hancock has shown enough to get some snaps and possibly be an improvement over what we have currently (likely Rapp). -
In terms of potential seriousness of his injury, I really didn't like that he was put on injured reserve immediately after suffering the injury at practice. There seemed to be some rumblings from posters that his injury could be career threatening, but I hope that was uninformed speculation and I don't remember seeing anything from a reliable news source about it.

The Athletic - some grim stats (new Tim Graham piece)
jahnyc replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wonder how these stats compare to last season at this point and interesting that there appear to be significant breakdowns on both the offense and defense (and not resulting from new players). Also a bit disconcerting is that these stats are coming out of a series of games against teams that are not considered strong teams this season. We will face better teams as the season progresses. -
It is concerning that Penix is not a good QB and we made him look really good.

Keon is absolutely trending toward bust category and would rather have Worthy or McConkey, but that draft class of WRs is pretty disappointing overall so far. Definitely not living up to the hype as one of the greatest WR draft classes of all time.

I think trading for one or more impact players before the trading deadline is unlikely. Our best hope is that some of the players that have been injured will be back after the bye week (or soon thereafter) and the players that were injured tonight will be ready to go after the bye week. We also will get a couple of reinforcements for our D-line back from suspension. Unfortunately, I am not sure Jones will be back this season if he "popped" a calf and Strong's injury seems murky and serious enough to raise concerns about his return this season or at all.

10/13/2025 Bills at Falcons - Post game thread
jahnyc replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Unfortunately, Coleman does seem to be a bust. Palmer was having a good game until he was injured, but there really was no one who could step up after, and certainly not Coleman. Shakir is great in the slot, but. as a group, our WRs are not good and having Samuels and Palmer out was too much to overcome. Our safeties are also playing poorly. Bishop may be a border line bust at this point and Rapp would be better as the third safety. I am not sure what Bishop brings to the defense. He misses tackles, takes bad angles and is generally poor in coverage. -
10/13/2025 Bills at Falcons - 2nd half game thread
jahnyc replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, injuries are hurting us badly tonight, but our rebuild on defense with draft picks and free agents is paying zero dividends right now. With Palmer out, it is obvious we can't count on Coleman for anything. He is getting zero separation. -
I guess there is room now to bring back the suspended players without making cuts from the roster.
-
Simmons would be a fantastic addition, but I can't see this front office doing it after spending so much recent draft capital on Sanders and Walker, as well as Ogunjobi in free agency.
-
Hopefully, something happens soon to get the benefit of the upcoming bye week for the Bills.

The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
jahnyc replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
What I don't understand is why Worthy seems to be open much of the time and Coleman can't get separation from DBs, given the differences in their physical builds. Is it KC's offensive scheming that puts Worthy in positions where he can avoid being jammed at the line of scrimmage? Is it Worthy's speed and quickness that gets him room to operate versus Coleman's inability to get separation because he lacks those traits, or is it something else? -
A Few Thoughts about the Pats Game - Post yours as well
jahnyc replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Point #5 is spot on regarding Coleman. I really want him to succeed but I don't see it happening. He is a one trick jump ball pony. Shakir is great in the slot, but we don't have a boundary wide receiver as good as a 30 plus year old Diggs coming off a torn ACL last season. I know we had limited dollars to acquire a WR for last season and this season, but Samuel and Palmer seem like wasted investments. Secondary has been bad, but I see almost no chance that the Bills try to trade for a CB. That would be an admission by the front office that signing White and drafting Max and Strong was a poor use of available resources this offseason. Linebacker is a big concern now, particularly if Williams' injury is long term and Milano goes on IR. We have no depth at this position.
