  1. Are we really comparing Gabe Davis to Dhop? That's laughable. Don't forget to list the list of 3rd string QBs he had throwing to him before Watson got there in year 5 btw. Dhop is the one WR who has produced regardless of QB for a decade straight. Comparing him to Davis is such disrespect.
  2. Well, the Bills are still the ones who decide to trade or not to trade. I would lean towards perhaps what you see in the media doesn't mean as much as you think.
  3. The "wiggle room" is converting salary to a signing bonus. In other words, instead of getting it on a game check on a weekly basis, he writes you a check up front. The owner has to have money to do that. The player loses no money and it converts non guaranteed game salary to guaranteed salary.
  4. I just hope Wagner or David one shows up. Either will do, but that's probably the only 2 guys out there that will.
  5. Considering these two moves happened 6 months apart I doubt it. Hines didn't come until close to the trade deadline, meaning he had seen the team on the field and seen a diffeciency. Wasn't a 1/2 punch knee jerk reaction at all.
  6. Something tells me Beane isn't ringing his phone lol
  7. Him and Milano would be a problem. Both are instinctive and have a high football IQ. Opposing QBs wouldn't like this duo.
  8. He is likely asking for a trade to get paid. So unless you plan to pay him a nice contract he isn't coming to your team.
  9. IMO the hardest part of being a GM is not being able to identify talent, but building a winning team. So you pick talented football players? That's great. Now after you start paying some of the top talent you have to blend aging veterans from FA with rookie draft picks that work as a unit to be a winning football team. Not saying picking talent is easy, but building a winning team around superstars and staying under the cap is really difficult.
  10. As someone who watched Henry from college on as an Alabama fan, Henry gets stronger with more carries. He has never been great getting 11 or 12 carries a game. Maybe he could l, but I think he needs 18+ carries a game to be effective. I wouldn't be mad at the experiment, but I think resources are best spent elsewhere.
  11. Agreed, but aging veterans that can be had for cheaper deals that still have a year or two blended with rookies and young players on rookie contracts is how you win. Obviously the Bills have chosen their "superstars" money wise. Beane needs to do a better job on the drafting young players for sure, but it doesn't get rid of the need for vets that can still play at a discount.
  12. True, but if the opportunity arises to trade down, get an additional pick and still get a IOL in the top 7 picks or so of the second, I would prefer that over just grabbing whatever at 27 because the value isn't there for what we need.
  13. I could see him having a bounce back swan song type season. But it's a gamble, if you are the Jets with their roster you are desperate though.
  14. Honestly who cares? Players play for the name on the back and the next contract. If he's on the roster week 1 he will play to the best of his ability. If he isn't, hopefully we got a good return on him.
  15. It's significant. In Florida, which is an extreme case, there is no state tax. So you simply pay nothing. Property tax, getting tags at the DMV, toll roads, etc. Are all a bit higher and it's more of a user tax. The more you do in Florida the more tax you pay. But a retiree or a football player who just kinda lives there but doesn't operate there comes out really cheap.
  16. Fournette has proven time and time again he is good, very good, when he has all the pieces in front of him. If the line is average or below, he's a non factor. He isn't our guy, would be a huge disappointment in Buffalo.
  17. You are correct somewhat, but the hangup is a fully guaranteed contract. The Browns did it but I'm not sure the rest of the league is ready to do it. Doesn't really matter to me, not my money, but it will change the dynamics of the salary cap. The players that are on the backend of the 53 will have to take less money.
  18. From what I understood when I seen him talking about it, and various practice squad players, there is so many workouts/meetings/treatment sessions going on, no one really knows you are staying there. They would sleep in the players lounge and some coaches know, but no it isn't allowed. For all anyone knows though they are taking a nap between workouts/meetings etc.
  19. This isn't unusual for practice squad players, I know he wasn't one, but I heard this reported a long time ago about Chad, so I believe it.
  20. Seen a graphic today that the Bills have spent 60% of their draft capital on defense since 2018. I think 33% on DL, while it was 33% on offense total. Which alot of that was Allen since the pick used on him was so high. Either way, it's easy to see how they have gotten themselves into the current predicament.
  21. True, but a Defensive HC shouldn't need stars everywhere to play defense. We put nothing into the offense.
  22. I can get on board with its foolish to ignore defensive players, but I would counter that with only draft playmakers and freaks for defense early. Drafting to fill holes in a defense is crazy, sign a FA if the absolute right guy isn't there.
  23. I mean the same teams draft top 10 all the time, doesn't help them get to the SB. Trade Oliver for what you can get, get the cap space and an extra 2nd or 3rd for a rookie that can play cheap.
  24. I agree, which is why I wouldn't tag him. I was trying to make some sense out of it.
  25. Being "like" them and building to beat them is two separate statements. Being like them is maybe having an OL and a defensive line that can be above average. Not relying solely on 2 people for 92% of the offensive production. Need a better OC, or Dorsey to take a step forward though.
