Week 1, Cards v. Bills - Predict the Score
FLFan replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
33-13 Bills. I expect the Bills to explode out of the gate. -
This is just a silly comment. Bishop missed virtually 100% of training camp and obviously did not play in any games. Today was his first contact practice. Despite all this, you expected him to start? That makes no sense. The same applies to Edwards, who while experienced, also missed all of training camp. If you want to make a real criticism, find an argument that makes a little more sense than the one you are making.

Week 1 - Cardinals at Bills - Game Week Thread
FLFan replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is definitely a lack of energy and confidence regarding the upcoming season. It seems to me that many, many fans have convinced themselves this is a step back year, the Bills will not compete for the title and cannot possibly win because … (no receivers, turnover of players, no talent, schedule, Diggs, Diggs, Diggs, etc). This is the clearly the national media narrative and it has become the assumed result. For me, I don’t know how the season will develop, but I do know the Bills are a very good team with very good coaching and will be very competitive. From there, let’s see how the breaks go. I am looking forward to another season of competitive Bills football. As for the Cardinals roster - now that is what a bottom feeder looks like. -
Of course he does, because nothing is ever his fault. Although he does admit to having a bad attitude. He had become baggage.

Less so than the alternative of starting either Edward’s or Bishop given their limited reps over the past 5 weeks. This will take a little time. -
Now that the 53 is set, predict the Bills win total
FLFan replied to Cash's topic in The Stadium Wall
Worst case 11, as many as 13. -
I had not seen that this is official. Did I miss something? Beane seemed to be very equivocal on this one. I hope it’s true. He seems worth a good look.
-
There are 5 defensive ends ahead of him on the roster at this point. If they get to the point where he is taking a significant share of snaps, they are in trouble in any case. He is veteran insurance is all, and probably one of the first if not the first to go if they need a roster spot. Murphy was intended to be a starter and major contributor, and that obviously did not work out to plan.

Just wait. If the Bills do not add Hardy to the Practice Squad the board will implode again.

No

The waiver claim deadline is Noon today. After that, teams can begin to build practice squads.
-
He did not look “great”. He looked adequate to good against bottom of the roster competition. He was never going to make this team as a CB this year. The talent ahead of him was much better. He looked decent as a returner. I think Marinos report that he is injured is likely true thus the Bills had to fill the hole that Hardy probably would have filled. Maybe he comes back to the practice squad, depending on the nature of the injury.

Thanks for the tip. Good to know. Edibles can be uneven and hard to predict at times. It would be nice to have a way to dial it back if necessary.

Panthers @ Bills, Preseason game 3, Sat 8/24 1pm

Wow. She is right on top of things with her sources. He is attending the funeral of his Grandfather. Announced yesterday I think. -

Nice try but I am sure this forum will be filled with angst and venom during and after the game about the Bills horrible offense, lack of receivers, how terrible Joe Brady is, and our likely third place finish in the AFCE. The regular season can’t get here fast enough. -
One site has the Jets favored to win the AFCE
FLFan replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the Jets win more than 8 games I will be surprised. A 40 year old QB with eroded skills last he played, who has now been out for a year and coming off an Achilles injury. Ouch. Good luck to him with those tackles. They have a very good defense, but their offense will still struggle and their HC has proven himself to be a very ineffectual leader. -
You are right - that was a terrible pass. In the wrong place and a knuckleball. Of course you would still like to see it caught but it was far from a gimme. As for what we have and do not have, I think it is a bit hard to say and far to early when the starting QB has been on the field in two games for a handful of plays, and they are obviously running nothing deep down the field. Straight vanilla run oriented offense. Taking any conclusions from either of these games on Coleman or the Offense in general is simply not possible. It is going to be an interesting ride this year for sure.

Pregame thread (8/17/24) - Bills at Steelers
FLFan replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think they are in for a rude awakening this year as they find out the difference between a last place and first place schedule. -
My apologies. My initial search yielded bad information. I will delete my post. Sorry to all.

It is no doubt less than he expected as well. Why does everyone think he has been out there this long? The only explanation is that his demands exceeded his worth. What was the price in March, April when the Bills and other teams were constructing their rosters? His demands on term? At this point the Bills do not have near the cap room to have signed that contract.

OK then. Enjoy your new Falcons fandom.

Yeah. Sharp’s “analysis” was one of the dumbest I have ever seen.

Matt Milano had surgery for "significant bicep injury", out indefinitely
FLFan replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
His replacement is already on the team, as well as depth. It may be unlikely they get Milano all pro level performance at that position, but I think it would have been unlikely they got that from Milano anyway. Tough break, but they could be OK. We will have to see. -

There is absolutely no reason to do that. There is no downside to simply putting him on IR with a potential return designation and then seeing what happens. Next year is next year, and yes, the Bills will need to make a decision then. No need to do it now.
