Yes, so people saying Cook is better, how so? They seem pretty even to me. Cook’s market value is nowhere near what he is asking. I would be surprised is the Bills are not in this same ballpark with their offer.

I agree it would be truely stupid, but the way they have handled this so far has demonstrated that very thing. This is their best player for years, one who has suffered through the ineptitude of this team for years without complaint, and they are treating him like some low level cafeteria employee. I expected better from the new ownership but he is proving to be every bit as big an ####### as Dan Snyder. I think it is a fantasy, but scary Terry on the Bills absolutely puts them over the top. There is little I would not give up to make that happen, including any receiver on the roster plus a high draft choice. Win now.

I certainly hope Rasul Douglas is not on their call list. They planned for depth at this position and I would say that the current Bills depth at CB would put Douglass firmly on the outside. He was awful last year, and moving on was and still is the right answer even if they lose Maxwell for a period of time.

Also breaking in a new holder. Like everything else, it is way too early to be alarmed by anything that happens in a given day. We are 6 weeks away from a game that counts.

Today was Day 4 of training camp. It might be a bit too early to judge Hairston’s progress especially based on random training camp reports and not visual evidence. Tre actually had some helpful comments on this subject in his interview Friday to the effect that much that needs to be learned by these rookies that can only be learned by repetitions on the field. It is a huge adjustment from college. He was talking specifically about Hairston but I am sure it applies to all of them. Let’s see where. He is in three weeks time.

Theoretically, yes. However, the practical effect of Sanders missing training camp over this is that his potential impact on the Bills defense is greatly diminished. Unfortunately it is not linear. Missing time at the beginning of camp, even a week, will likely mean he will be relatively useless for at least the first half of the season. More than that, we will be definitely be talking about a wasted high second round pick. Sorry, but I am going to blame the player for that.

That’s a pretty good team talent wise, except for QB. I think McDermott coaches that team to the second round.

They knew about both before signing. In Hoecht’s case, he was notified earlier and it was disclosed and discussed with the Bills up front. In the other case, he found out prior to signing, disclosed it to the team, and the contract was renegotiated before signing. Agreed we do not know how either will perform and how big a deal this will ultimately be, but nobody was blindsided or lied to here.

Yeah, he does not have a “Dad bod”. He is out of shape for a world class athlete which is what he is supposed to be. He was out of shape last year and it showed in his play.
