  1. This play is not surprising. Dodson’s best attribute was going straight downhill. Much like Dorian Williams, his instinct is always to take a step forward so he’d often be a step behind in play action. But it’s cool to see him elevate his game to a starting LB
  2. So your only metric for OC success is passing yardage? Brady ran the ball more because the defensive looks were dictating it
  3. The preseason narrative is overrated IMO. I the drop in passing had yardage has to do with how teams are electing to play defense. A good example is weeks And yes, I do think the Bills were ahead of the curve and a reason could be how much 2 high safety coverage they’ve been seeing over the past seasons.
  4. He was a FA last season and thought he’d be a fantastic player in Buffalo’s defense
  5. What could wrong!?!?!? Canales must be feeling a lot of pressure from Tepper already!
  6. Oh yeah… that was the famous Detroit thanksgiving game which saw him score a TD and catch one of Josh’s best passes. Good times! But think the Cincinnati game was the eruption and something had been going on earlier that season. Like I shared before, Diggs always did those midweek press conferences and for some reason they stopped making him available for weeks. I think this was around the time of the Detroit game.
  7. I mean…. Are we really reaching for Diggs’ value as a decoy to justify his worth? Collins production is relatively close to what he averaged last season. The problem is you can’t take the drama out of Diggs. That’s why he’s not in Buffalo. If Diggs was drama-free team player, he probably still be on the roster this season.
  8. This is a big part of the Diggs narrative. Many here will excuse his antics on the sideline as being “competitive” and wanting to win. That’s fine. But all that talk about being legacy and being one of the greats rings hollow when your number is called and you don’t deliver. Sadly, as great of a 4-year run as Diggs had the lasting impression with fans is the massive catch he didn’t make when they needed him.
  9. That true.. I just know the last time we played JAX he seemed to make a number of big throws including the bomb to Ridley over Hyde.
  10. True but there are some players who trashed the organization on the way out and came back into the fold years later with a different attitude. Thurman Thomas and Ruben Brown immediately come to mind
  11. Something happened during the offensive slump in the 2022 season. Things between the Bills and Diggs were the same again I feel the vibes around Diggs are very negative from the fan base and vice versa. In 10 years (probably more like 5) or so I believe both sides will fully appreciate what each did for the other
  12. His strength, which is route running is still good - that’s why he makes sense as a second or third option these days. But early in his career with the Bills he was very good at both contested catches and getting open deep. He was noticeably worse in both areas last season. You don’t think his lack of involvement had anything to do with his unhappiness?
  13. When did I say he’s “not good?” You’re kind of twisting my words. In a previous post I stated that he doesn’t have the same ability as he had been in the past which is hard to argue. I also don’t buy your argument regarding his contract. Diggs is on pace to have the lowest production since his rookie season. Do you honestly think that’s going to give him leverage on the open market? If he went into this thinking he’d get a massive contract at 31 while catching 4 passes for 36 yards per game, he’s in for some fun. Also explain how was the 2nd round draft pick considered “under” compensation? You seem to think he’s still an All-Pro when just about every metric, including his production this season, proves otherwise. Leave the memories alone 100% agreed. Though there’s some in here who are under the delusion that he’s 2021 Stefon Diggs
  14. What really forced Diggs was that Houston was willing to trade a 2nd rounder for a 31 year-old WR with diminishing skills. They proceeded to void the final years of his contract rendering Diggs a one-year rental. Sounds like a logical move for a “damn good” WR.
  15. I’ve never been impressed with Lawrence but he seems to play his best football against the Bills! Hoping that ends Monday
  16. The best part is that Hill and Waddle were laughing and yucking it up on camera while Miami fans were having a meltdown online!
  17. I get what you are saying but not sure if “click” is the right word. Josh personally loved Dorsey and went to bat for him as OC. The problem was that his offense seemed to promote Josh’s over-aggressive and reckless tendencies. That’s where forcing the ball to Diggs and Davis came into play. When these plays weren’t hitting the offense was in trouble and this was on display during the final 4 weeks of Dorsey’s tenure. I think Brady, much like Daboll did, does a good job utilizing the talent he has on offense on a week-to-week basis. I think Brady has a way to “reeling in” Josh too with the Payne calls. Long season but hopefully it stays this way.
  18. I mean… are we actually arguing that soon-to-be 31 year-old Diggs is still “Him” but just isn’t being utilized in Buffalo and now Houston? Watching his performance in the AFC Divisional Game in January should have revealed that answer, but I digress. I remember seeing the charts from the guys who do the Reception Perception podcast, and it showed that Diggs’s vertical speed and his effectiveness in M2M coverage dropped last season. So while his targets and opportunities dropped, so too did his effectiveness which is almost certain for WR’s on the wrong side of 30. Is Diggs still a “good” receiver? Yes, I think he still is an elite route runner that is going to get separation. This is an area of his game that hasn’t really declined. But like we’ve seen over the past 12 games or so, it’s going to happen in the short-to-intermediate areas. He’s not going to dominate games or single-handedly dictate coverage the way that he had between 2020-2023. At this point, he’s best utilized as a second or third option in Houston - a role he wasn’t happy with in Buffalo. I also feel that Buffalo had every intention to keep Diggs for one more season in 2024 with Beane oddly placating his ego by calling him a “#1 WR” but then saying he was “grading on a curve” in the postseason which seemed to be a subtle nudge, The deal Houston gave them was good enough value to pull the trigger a year early, and rid them of a player who had worn on the team’s patience (also one who played his worst game in the most recent playoff loss.) Speaking of that… if Diggs was still an elite WR why would Houston void the rest of his contract rendering him to a 1 year rent-a-player? Seems like they had the same idea as Beane. All of this to say, I think people are fooling themselves if they still think Diggs is still the same player he was early in his Bills career and he’s just not getting the opportunities. But he also isn’t completely washed as some fans want to imply based on his pedestrian stats recently. There’s a looooong season to go, but over the course of the first 2 games the Diggs deal seems to make more sense. This could change. We’ll see
  19. Get it right…they are called Yoga pants!
  20. The “Sean McDermott is conservative” narrative is a bit of myth. He’s not the most aggressive coach on 4th down but is probably above average. In my opinion, they went for the 1st down because Miami’s offense has the potential to put points on the board and he wanted to give his team a chance to win.
  21. Or they just have common sense…
  22. The funny thing is he’s now extended through 2028 so if they want to move on, the Dolphins have to eat his entire contract. Reminds me of the Duck Jauron deal where everyone knew he needed to go but Ralph just re-signed him and was too cheap to let him go!
  23. That isn’t really true. They lost Phillips in Week 12 and Chubb in Week 17.
  24. Saw this on the replay. The ball hit the defender on the back. Samuel never had a shot at it
  25. The difference is that there’s not the same animosity with Poyer as there was with Thurman. If you listen to Thurman these days he’ll say he signed with Miami to spite Buffalo. I think for Poyer it was more about playing in his hometown of Florida
