  1. Doubtful. The Bills are stacked at EDGE with 6: Von Miller Greg Rosseau Leonard Floyd AJ Epinesa Shaq Lawson Jonathan Kingsley Clark is likely not going to sign onto a PS. So who do you move? The Bills what they’ve seen from Jonathan Kingsley and kept him over a former 2nd round pick. I guess you could swap Clark out for Shaq but Lawson is someone who knows the defense very well and does a decent job in his role. Unless there’s a major injury to this group (which isn’t out of the question given the injury luck this season), I can’t see the Bills trading or signing Clark
  2. They are not tanking… the team is just built poorly offensively and are suffering some pretty big injuries. The past few years people in the media have actually applauded BB for his off-season which has including bringing in bigger bodies on offense to punish the smaller, quicker defense in the modern NFL. My guess is he’s been so successful they assumed it would happen again. How many times have you read “He zigs when everyone else zags!?!?!?” IMO it’s a mix between ignorance and hubris. Bill believes he can turn back the clock to 2001 when his defense could carry the team and the offense just had to play smart and control the ball. To be fair, the New England defense still has been pretty good at full strength, but they have been killed by injuries. I think Belichick is still very good as a defensive coordinator, but the way he built the offense over the past three seasons should be a fireable offense as GM Brock Purdy is a “once in a few decades” outlier. Probably not the best example.
  3. I read the All-22 breakdown from Joe B who is returning after a parental leave. He basically said the similar things about the offense and that it came down to a lack of execution: - First down drops from Cook, Knox and Davis. - Allen under throwing Diggs on the INT - Penalties and missed blocks etc. The good news is that it did not seem that the offense was “figured out” by Jacksonville. They played good game with some timely calls on 3rd down, but it was more of an issue of the Bills not capitalizing when they should have….
  4. I think that assuming the Bills would just roll over Cincy in 21 is somewhat of a fallacy. Kansas City’s offense that year was just as strong as Buffalo. Cincy and Lou Anarumo made some key defensive adjustments to stifle Mahomes. The Bills also struggled to stop Burrow’s quick throws to Chase, Higgins, and Boyd in 2022. I’m not sure how that’s different in 2021. I guess you could say the Bengals OL was worse then, but so was the Bills pass rush. The injuries and circumstances really hurt the Bills last season, but many people thought they had a good chance to beat Cincy this year too. So while I’m not saying it’s a given they don’t beat the Bengals in Buffalo, I don’t think it’s a certainty either
  5. I completely see what you’re saying it’s been nice to see players like Bernard, Rosseau, Benford and a few others step up. The only silver lining is that it gives new players some important reps. The problem is that 2023 is likely the final shot that the “core” Bills players will have to win it all. I see a scenario where the Bills could be without familiar faces like Gabe, AJ, Poyer, Hyde, and the DL depth (Shaq, Phillips, Poona). Plus we don’t know how Tre White will bounce back from his second major injury. The team was built to compete for a SB in 2023, and these injuries make it so much harder, but we have to have hope that Josh and the offense can overcome.
  6. Do you want some tissues to cry about it? Given the way the Bills played against Cincy, I’d be shocked if they didn’t get their asses kicked as the 1 seed. I don’t think the Bills will be in contention for the 1 seed. I’d rather have them healthy and on a roll going into the playoffs. Who cares what the seed will be?
  7. I remember people saying the same thing about the schedule last year after the losses to NYJ and Minnesota. The Bills ended up winning 13 games. Just like how the Bills suffered some big injuries to key players, it’s guaranteed to happen to other teams as well which will effect the matchups. So how “tough” the sledding actually is, is TBD. My point wasn’t about the #1 seed. Obviously, the bye week is an advantage. I comparing the difference between seed #2 through #7. Homefield is nice but it’s not essential as we learned last January.
  8. “worst record since 2018.” 🤣 Doom and gloom post. Does it really matter if the Bills are a division winner or a wildcard? Is homefield really THAT big of an advantage? I think we learned the answer to that question last January.
  9. He was pretty bad in 2020. I can’t him doing much this season.
  10. I don’t think it’s as much Cook as it s the OL struggling badly today. There were plenty of plays where Cook had nowhere to go. Maybe the simply should have tried to throw some of those delay runs out of the playbook today
  11. That’s were I am coming from too. The #1 playoff seed is valuable because of the bye. Every other seed is basically the same. I know it’s hard to win 2-3 road games in but it’s been done.
  12. I just want to get into the playoffs. All that matters is getting healthy. The #1 seed and the bye would be great but we’ve seen in years past team knocking the #1 in their own house. If we can’t get #1, I really couldn’t care who or were the Bills play. it’s a new season. Homefield is nice to have but if the Bills are gassed or playing short handed like last season, it doesn’t mean anything. Just get healthy and get in
  13. I can see what you are saying with the inconsistency of the offense. it seems like they are really good or kind of flat. The problem is given where the Bills ranked in offense last season and likely this season, you can make the argument that Dorsey has done a good job. I guess it all depends on what McDermott and Beane think and based on the comments from Beane last season, they seem to very much support Dorsey.
  14. Yes…he’s the hot seat. That’s why they signed him to a contract extension
  15. So much can happen in the final 13 weeks of the season. There’s no guarantee KC or any team stays healthy. One injury to a QB or another high profile player and most teams are screwed
  16. The Cossell interview was so weird. Right off the bat she started asking him about Jacksonville, without discussing his thoughts on the previous week’s game as usual. Greg was like “whoa have you guys come down from your big win last week already?” It was like he knew that he should be discussing Miami before Jacksonville and he was trying to get her back on track.
  17. Didn’t Von also say the Bills were signing OBJ?
  18. I think the “locker room cancer” storyline is a bit dramatic though I don’t think he goes from being a healthy scratch with horrendous tape this season to suddenly a superstar in Miami. If I’m a Dolphins fan I don’t hate the trade. They are getting Claypool as a rental for next to nothing. If he helps then great. If not, then they didn’t give up much. It seems like a potential low risk/high reward situation. On the other, I don’t really see how Claypool fits in with the Miami receivers. Are you going to take Hill, Waddle, or a route runner like Berrios off the field for Claypool? Is he better than Chosen/Carcraft? Maybe…but we’re talking about WR4 snaps for a player that doesn’t play special teams. Maybe they are thinking he’s a bigger body who might be a red zone target or a WR for 50/50 balls? It’s possible, but then again these aren’t passes that Tua throws a lot of. Passes in the screen game? Claypool is probably the 4th best WR option on the team, maybe 5th if you line Achane at WR. Overall I don’t think he’ll have that big of an impact in Miami but you can’t fault them for trying.
  19. You really do have to rack your brain to find some of these moments.
  20. Good call on the Houston INT. That goes back to his rookie season though!!!
  21. My view was that he was mostly average which is not a great return for a player you traded up for in Round 1. Out of his entire career I can only think of a few main highlights: - The huge hit on Lamar Jackson that knocked him out of the Division playoff game. - Knocking away a deep pass from Mike Gesicki over the middle in the wildcard game against Miami. - Absolutely crushing a running back causing an incomplete pass in the same game above. Am I forgetting any others?
  22. It’s already happening - I saw a few Bears are asking why Edmunds isn’t stepping up last night
