  1. Over the past few years I’ve been following the story of Eddie Mayerick on Twitter. Long story short, his dad Nick grew up in IL. He became a Bills fans after some players treated him so kindly during a game he attended in Indy. He passed down his fandom to his son Eddie. Eddie was born with a heart defect and other medical problems. He has a breathing tube and feeding tube and it appears he’s spent a good portion of his life in hospitals. Over the past few years, Nick has shared his story on Twitter. Despite the medical challenges, Eddie and Nick have remained ridiculously optimistic. Eddie especially has an infectious smile and personality that makes him impossible not to love. You could see that the was medically fragile but that never got him down. Recently it appears his condition has take a turn for the worse and that he is fighting for his life in the hospital. While his dad is staying positive, it doesn’t look good. If you believe in prayers, positive thoughts, good videos, or whatever else - Eddie could use them right about now. Also, some members of Bills Mafia have started a donation/raffle with 100% of the money going to the Mayerik family. Just wanted to pass this along in case anyone is interested in helping out the family either through prayers or monetarily. His dad’s account is below:
  2. They were able to trade him for a 3rd round pick which is incredible considering that it’s the same value Jalen Ramsey was traded for There were many Jacksonville-like games that season and I think fans remember these games more so than the good moments from Taylor’s career
  3. I’ve never bought into the fan narrative that Tyrod somehow disrespected by the fan base. Some have even tried to play race which I think is complete BS. Its not like fans look back at Tyrod and say “ugh, he sucked.” But he’s mostly regarded for what he was during that era - a game manager at QB. He was in full game manager mode in 2017 which is why he doesn’t get credit for breaking the drought. The offense was built around Shady running the ball. The passing game was anemic both because of the Rick Dennison’s design and the lack of weapons. Tyrod’s main objective seemed to be to play safe abs protect the football. This was extremely frustrating to watch. I would agree that Tyrod was the victim of both bad luck and elevated expectations from the Rex Ryan Era. Tyrod is not different than a Fitzpatrick or Flutie. The difference is the optics around those QB’s. Both presented themselves as underdogs and had an exciting style of play. Tyrod did as well but he didn’t lean as hard into the underdog angle.
  4. Less fumbles would definitely help but IMO the number looks worse. Off the top of my head I know one was a fumbled snap, another was the botched McKenzie play in KC which wasn’t really on him. For me, it’s balance: - When to take the check down - When to hold on and try to go deep - When to pull the ball down and tun - When to truck a linebacker or hurdle a tackle for a first down Hopefully a better OL and players he can trust more in short areas will help
  5. This isn’t a surprise. Anyone who’s been there knows that it is an older stadium which badly needed to be replaced. I will say that while Highmark is one of the worst stadiums in terms of an actual structure, the game day atmosphere is really good. It was superior to Meadowlands, Cleveland, Foxboro or Miami Gardens. I’ve heard KC has a similar feel
  6. Ed Oliver was a bad draft pick…oh wait, I was right about that one 🤣
  7. Yes and no. It’s not like he’s writing for the AP and has to follow a strict set of guidelines. I think his writing is somewhat revisionist and his voice does influence the narrative - a good example is the whole Allen/Mahomes debate. But I also think he’s a very good storyteller and one of the best feature writers. Also, he largely has a good track record when it comes to accuracy. Aaron Rodgers tried to portray him as a hack writer with an agenda, but just about everything he wrote about ARod came to fruition. I think you’re selling him short as a writer
  8. Ugh because he’s a football player and we come here to discuss football. Pray tell, how does any of this football talk in general impact YOU in the slightest? Or pray tell, why use an old-timey word like “pray tell” to begin with? Not sure why this has touched a nerve with you. All I said is, if he was filmed on drugs don’t get upset at people for talking about drug usage. Not sure how you can read that article and come away with that conclusion. Not the biggest fan of Dunne but he is one of the more talent writers covering the NFL
  9. The problem with this comment is that it so so vague it can be open to much interpretation. Really, almost any player sans a few QB’s could be traded “under the right circumstances.” As far as the Bills go, I don’t believe they would have exercised the option in Stef’s contract if they weren’t 100% comfortable with him on team. Could what he said on day 1 of minicamps have changed that? Probably not.
  10. The issue is him taking offense to the fact that people criticized him for being on drugs when…he clearly was on drugs. Correct but he was on drugs like all of us could see. It seems like Zay and/or Tyler presented the situation as though fans incorrectly cited drug use as a reason for his behavior
  11. Weeeeeeeeeeeeelllllll… looks like our “Doug Collins” got a new contract 😂😂😂😂😂
  12. It was a very good article and it makes you glad Zay his career and life around. The only gripe about the article is that it never answered the question we all were asking - what kind of drugs was Zay Jones on? He admitted to taking something but didn’t know what he was given. He also refused the toxicology report to avoid potential trouble. It was implied that fans were wrong to call him out for drug use - but they weren’t wrong - he was on something
  13. Great move for NE. Sign Elliot and take touches away from Rhamonde…
  14. The people in this thread that thing McDermott took over playcalling duties to save his job are just adorable. Make no mistake about it, sans a colossal disaster Sean McDermott is not getting fired after the season. period. IMO I think he took over duties because he wasn’t completely satisfied with the job Frazier did this season. He knows that the Bills have a great chance to go all the way this season, and he’s rather put it all on his shoulders rather than someone else’s
  15. His biggest contribution came this season on the sidelines when he got Quay Walker to shove him forcing a 15 yard roughing call and an ejection.
  16. Read this headline and you tell me that Florio is not a great journalist 🤣
  17. That is correct… With that being said, his job is to write articles that getting people talking and in the process drive traffic to his Substack - where a percentage will be converted to subscribers. I don’t think Ty chases clicks or embellished stories. I do think he writes polarizing articles that he knows will fans buttons - specifically in Buffalo and Green Bay. Nothing wrong with that, but his current venture is different than covering the sport for a major news outlet Ah ok… I just remember when they hired Beane back in the day, I thought McDermott implied that he would report to Beane but we all knew it was BS
  18. This is why it’s laughable that people talk about Brandon Beane “firing” McDermott. The position isn’t structured that way. While McDermott might report to Beane on an org charge, he outranks him in terms of actual control and power in the organization. The only person with the most power in Buffalo outside of Terry/Kim is Sean McDermott. Terry is the only person who can fire McDermott. Keep in my Terry gave McD unprecedented autonomy for a rookie HC in 2017 because he was so impressed. McD paid him back by breaking the drought in year 1, found a QB, put together a SB contending roster, and more importantly transformed the impression of the Bills who were a laughing stock. McDermott is the only coaching hire that Terry got right (Granato is a still a question mark IMO). Do you honestly see him firing McDermott because they didn’t win a SB?
  19. What about a “successful visit?” What is that supposed to mean? He made it to Tennessee…how can it not be successful?
  20. Bell is a good comp. He’ll begrudgingly return to the Giants once he realizes that his position group is screwed. The NFL has him by the balls and not the balls you spoke after a TD
