It doesn’t surprise me. It’s often been said McVay relates really well to players and his approach is unique to other coaches. It sounds like McDermott is similar to Harbaugh where he “coaches hard but loves you at the same time.” Even Humphrey said he’s “no Mr. positivity on the sideline.”

Such a good guy… but I don’t buy that LA passed off better offers to be traded to Baltimore. He put some really bad play on tape and I think they took the only offer they were given which was the lowest possible compensation that could be offered .

I would agree. Tre was playing at a very high level before the Thanksgiving injury in New Orleans.

That’s why I’m struggling with injuries being the reason for his lack of production. If he’s hurting from turf toe, why not just sit him? He’s 5th on the depth chart and probably the last option when he’s on the field. I don’t think it happened because he’s not on the injury report.

Where was this reported? I feel both McDermott and Brady said the opposite and that we was at full health multiple times this season. I don’t think it’s as much of an injury issue as it is Samuel not fitting into the offense. It happens sometimes

He doesn’t offer much as a pass rusher but sets the edge very well and is a high motor player. Would be a good addition to the PS

Mahomes exaggerated injuries. He’ll be hopping around on one foot and crying in pain and then back 5 plays later. He’ll be fine the rest of the season

That is not true . He was battling turf toe very early in the season and recovered. He had no injury diagnosis and was at full health. A few weeks ago he hurt his shoulder and might have reactivated it again on Sunday. So yeah injuries have slowed him a bit but not the same one I that injury is much overstated.

Long way to go for that happen. I’m just looking for a win next week

This was just an incredible throw. Normally when QB’s throw a ball that travels that far they put a lot of air under it like the “moon ball.” This throw was almost a freaking frozen rope that traveled 50 yards and was placed perfectly. Just incredible

Everyone is saying Cincinnati to work with Burrow and Chase again, but I’m not sure they move on from Taylor even if they miss the playoffs again. The problem with turning down HC offers as an assistant is that you have to strike while the iron is hot. There’s only a hand full of opportunities and you can go from in demand to irrelevant fast. Brady was a “hot” coaching candidate in Carolina that took a few HC interviews. He was fired into next season. Then you have my favorite example Bobby F’N Slowik. Some Bills fans were pining to fire McDermott for Slowik. This season he sucks and likely won’t get any serious HC interviews. Given Brady’s experience and the fact he has Allen, probably bodes well for him.

3 Denver losses could happen but really they need just need 1/3. There’s a chance Week 18 won’t mean anything for KC and they rest their starters. They were a team that expected to contend for a championship and are sitting at 6-8 on the outside of the playoffs. They already have imploded.

That’s what the coaching staff will certainly be working on. It will help having experienced starters in the secondary back on the field in a few weeks. This unit will never be a top defense but they also aren’t going to give up this many points each week.

That’s what happens in the playoffs - especially against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Philadelphia had the top defense in 2022 and gave up 38 points including a short game winning FG on the final drive in the SB San Francisco had the best defense last season according the PFF and couldn’t stop KC much in the 4th. Also gave up the game winning score. We debunked this narrative to death but the playoff losses to CIN (2023) and KC (2024) wasn’t entirely on the defense. Offense failed to do its part. You need to stop play good complimentary football and to get lucky to win a Super Bowl

Here’s what I’m talking about. Detroit got an incredibly good bounce on this pass. Bernard is in the perfect spot and gets TWO hands on this ball. But it almost goes right to St Brown without him needing to make an adjustment. The missed tackle by Cam who was behind in coverage didn’t help. But my point again is that this play what somewhat flukes and that the defense was mostly in the right spot.

Overall yes. Glad to see he left the field with cramps and should be good to go next week. I do know that Detroit picked on him a bit by throwing outside to Gibbs and it resulted in a pair of 10+ yard receptions. Romo said he was late getting in position

He’s just adding some context - same way when people bring up opponents injuries when criticizing Buffalo.

There were many people here that wanted to fire McDermott and give Ben Johnson and….Bobby Slowik the keys to the kingdom. Robert 👏 F’N 👏Slowik Hiring Slowick, who has done a horrendous job this season in Houston, would have been the biggest disaster. Yet some here swore by him! As far as Johnson, I think he is an excellent offensive mind that has gone a great job in Detroit. Jury is still out on how he’ll perform as HC.
