TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?
JohnNord replied to Billyhouseman's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s an outlier. Chiefs are likely sunk if Mahomes get injured. We saw what happened to Cincy and Baltimore when their QB’s went down. -

The sacks he took around the red zone were just bush league *****. I think Fairborn made one and missed the other. Much like Josh I think CJ was trying to overcompensate due to bad pass pro and underwhelming WR’s. But he was still bad -

You could say the same thing about any team in the NFL -

Wow first off what a horrible game. But for weeks I’ve been hearing how Houston is a Super Bowl contender. Remember the narrative about Stefon Diggs wanting to go to Houston because they have a better chance at winning a Super Bowl? Stroud was pressured bad and not having Diggs or Collins hurt for sure. But he took some inexcusable sacks and fumbled the football in the red zone. He also completed like 50% of his passes. Between this game and the game against Buffalo (with the exception of Q1), I’m not too impressed with any facet of the Texans football team. They’ll probably still win the AFC South and Collins will probably help the offense. But I don’t see the team coming anywhere near the lofty expectations set in the preseason. -
They said the same thing about Shady

Edwards is one of the more strange cases we’re seen in Buffalo. Usually when fans call for a player to get more time (Elam) it’s because they aren’t better than the players in front of them. I find it hard to believe that a veteran like Edwards who played at a high level in TB and KC isn’t good enough to play on Sunday.

Week 9 - Dolphins at Bills Game Week Thread
JohnNord replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. The knock on Hamlin is a lack overall athleticism for his position. He has never lacked heart and has a good understanding of the defense -
It has to be Mario. He beat his production in Houston and had his three best seasons in Buffalo on the way to be named an All-Pro in 2014. Of course, he also dropped on a cliff a season later and was washed FAST. But the bottom line is that for 3 seasons the Bills got what they paid for. Von is a little different. His run started off really well. But the ACL injury not only killed half of his 2022, but also 2023 when he spent the entire season recovering. Right now he’s a situational pass rusher. While he did take a pay cut I don’t think his production matched his contract. Of course, if he leads Buffalo to a SB which is a long shot, his contract is worth every penny

I remember interacting with John. He was a good guy. RIP

What does Elam and a pick get you in this market?
JohnNord replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Elam’s value is likely a 6th round draft pick, at best. If he was worth anything more the Bills likely would have moved on from him -
We all know it’s been bad which is why the traded for Cooper. You’re already seeing more open receivers. I’d be surprised if this stayed consistent by the end of the season

This is such a tired narrative. McDermott has no problem playing rookie if they can beat out the player in front of them. Tre White, Matt Milano, Ed Oliver, Greg Rousseau, Christian Benford… notice a trend? Even a player like DeWayne Carter got the start over a veteran like Austin Johnson when Ed Oliver was hurt. McDermott will play rookies….he’s just not going to do it at the expense of the defense The 6th rounder is playing like a 1st rounder… The 1st rounder is playing like a 6th rounder

I think it’s a little early but overall I’d say it appears to be a solid draft with Coleman showing the most promise. The fact that Cole Bishop isn’t good enough to play meaningful snaps midway through the season is disappointing for a 2nd round pick is disappointing but like I said - it’s early. The rest appear to be your typical Brandon Beane single or double draft picks.

Diontae Johnson to the Ravens (now claimed by Houston)
JohnNord replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed and such weak compensation made me think he’s washed but his numbers aren’t that bad on a pretty bad offense -
As crazy as it sounds there are Jets fans lobbying for the team to hire Rex Ryan - the same way that Indy hired Jeff Saturday season. Rex also seems to be lobbying for the position (or any coaching position) on ESPN. Woody Johnson has made some bad decisions or horrible hires. But having Rex close out the season would be elite

Never Followed PFF..After This, Never Will
JohnNord replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
Their ratings are a joke. I remember last season Tyrel Dodson was consistently ranked in the top 5 LB ratings where Terrel Bernard was somewhere toward the bottom. It made no sense -
Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
JohnNord replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’disagree with this - in 2020 or 2021 he was every bit as good as the WRs you mentioned. To you point, his weakness seemed to be that he didn’t like playing physical man corners and he often struggled against high end CB’s. This was very noticeable during the 2023 season. Everyone wanted to blame Brady for Diggs’ decline in production. The offensive scheme might have been a factor, but he was no longer the player he was a few years earlier -
Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
JohnNord replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
100% Diggs didn’t go to Houston because it gave it gave him the best chance to win a SB. He went there because he wanted out of Buffalo and Houston was one of the few teams willing to give up. 2nd round pick for a 31 year-old WR. I think there was a part of him that thought he’s still a WR1 and that he was going to prove it in Houston and get a big deal in 2025. Everyone else knew that he’s lost a step. The reality is that Stef hasn’t surpassed 100 yards in 21 games now. His last 100 yard game performance came on that Sunday night crap fest against NYG where the Bills won 14-9. Still after Stef retires in a few years, I feel he’s going to be one of those ex Bills players that becomes embraced by the fanbase later on -
He was not injured and came back in the game right after the stinger. He just didn’t get many targets. Not sure why

The Jets are fascinating. The team has talent on paper but can’t get their act together. I think some of the “names” on the roster look much better on paper than they do in actuality and this include Rodgers. It looks like Ubrich is in way over his head

Tracking Not Drafted by the Bills Players
JohnNord replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m pretty sure the Bills would have loved BTJ but probably not enough to make a crazy trade. Who knows though they might have inquired about him. I really like what I’ve seen from Mustafa. We’ll likely have to wait a year to see what we have in Bishop -
Diggs hurt (Torn ACL - out for the season)
JohnNord replied to fasteddie's topic in The Stadium Wall
Diggs was a great WR in Buffalo but between the drama at the end of his stint and how poorly he played against KC (and how easily he brushed it off) made me grow to dislike him. Yet I hated seeing what appears to be a long term injury. Never would have wished this on and hoping for a full recovery. -
I noticed the same thing and thought that Eli played well. I’m assuming he gets the call up next and if it goes well again you have to wonder if they give him the spot taken by Zion Louge. He didn’t play well and has been a healthy scratch ever since.

With all due respect you’re making a big deal out of nothing. I’ve heard Sal talk about this on WGR and he’s always surprised how well Bills fans represent at away games. During games when the Bills are ahead fans come down to the lower seats and celebrate. He always thought this looked cool so he tries to document this moment. I have no problem with it. Besides, he does work for the team as a sideline reporter on game day
-
He was well liked in Denver and has an element of speed that doesn’t exist with current Bills WRs. Might be worth it to run a few speciality play to take advantage of his skills.
