  1. Could never be sure of this,of course, but DK seemed to fit the profile of the "freak" athlete that Beane has seemed to favor over guys with big stats on the field at the college level (examples Allen, Edmunds, and now Rousseau, among others). Makes me suspect that the Bill's had something that they did not like in DK's medical. Understandable that he was passed over for that reason. Can't win them all ...
  2. I don't want Ertz either - not interested in an overpriced TE on the downside of his career. But at least I am doing my part to add to this thread ...
  3. I'm more interested in wins each week - the bright spotlight of primetime does not interest me much. I'd rather play a team at 1:00 PM Sunday afternoon - at home, against a team we have an excellent chance to beat - than have a night game against a tough, Super Bowl winning Tampa team. Give me a strong start to the start of the season - wins early will lead to the prime time lights that I am looking forward to -- namely playoff games and the super bowl.
  4. I guess that the question at hand is "Should I fear the Patriots*"? The answer is that I do fear the Patriots*- but it is not like I feared them when Brady was on the team. I fear the Patriots* because this is the NFL, all teams are filled with world class athletes & with proper coaching, management, and some breaks could make a run at it (well, probably except the Jets, Jags, & Texans). When Brady was in NE it felt hopeless. Now I don't worry more about the Pat's than most other potential rivals. And oh yeah - f*** the Pats* - I hope they fail spectacularly!
  5. I have also always enjoyed & got a laugh out of Jimmy Spags posts. However, now I think I owe him a "thank you". My daughter recently got married to a guy from "the city" as the natives call it (as if there is no other city). Without Spags helping me out - I may have not understood some of the conversation when I met the new in-laws" -- "You woulda thought" - means "no" to us normal people. -- "Sus" - means doubtful or suspicious -- "Beef" - means a disagreement to us normals. -- I also heard the term "youse" (one of Jimmy's favorites) used more times in one hour than I have ever heard it uttered in my entire life. So - thanks Jimmy you helped me make a better first impression. However. I doubt it will do much to bridge the family cultural gap in the long run.
  6. Don't worry too much about the running game. The backs on our roster are young & talented. If our OL stays healthy and performs better in run blocking, then our backs will perform just fine. Not to mention with the QB & wide receivers we have on this roster - and with the pass happy state of the rules in the NFL these days - we better remain a heavily pass oriented offense! We had one of the best offenses in the league last year (both for yardage & scoring) - a little tweak to that offense is OK- but not much more than that.
  7. Didn't notice this thread earlier. My worst take was -- I thought Kevin Kolb was a great signing as vet placeholder until EJ Manuel was ready as a fulltime starter. In my wisdom I believed the stories about him having put his durability issues to rest. I don't think I should quit my day job ...
  8. You are absolutely correct Greg. There is a lot of chatter out there about the Pegula's "management" of the Sabres. The difference between the Sabres & the Bill's is simply that the Pegula's made good hiring decisions with the Bill's & not so good decisions (to be kind) with the Sabres.
  9. Does this mean that the Pegula's are now going to cut Sabres tickets down to a buck a piece, lol?😁
  10. I realize that team "needs" are a matter of debate - however, unless the OL needs are heavily covered in FA (doubtful) - then I think there may be significant agreement that the OL should be addressed sometime prior to the 6th round. Nice try at the mock draft though ...
  11. I played JV & Varsity in high school & D3 in college. But since I am an old fart - that was back in the 70's. The game has changed so much since then that my "experience" is pretty much completely not applicable to today's game. Back then three yards & a cloud of dust & the wishbone were common schemes. O-lineman couldn't use their hands, & we were still taught to lead with our heads when tackling. It was just a different world back then ... but the cheerleaders where still appealing, glad some things never change!
  12. Well ... I think that I can think of one big play by Zimmer that likely won us a game this year. I bet that Cam Newton & Bill Belichek probably remember that play too, lol.
  13. You bet - let's bench our Pro Bowl kick returner because he made a mistake in a game. Next - how about we bench Diggs because of that dropped pass he had in the Colts game & bench Allen due to that 4th quarter fumble that we were fortunate enough to recover, lol. We do get to see some really ingenious personnel decisions proposed on this board!
  14. Coach McDermott -- please do not bench our top gunner on kick coverage for a back-up running back. Thanks.
  15. Agreed. I am one who thinks highly of coach Frazier. I wish him well - he seems like a great guy and his players all seem to love him. For purely selfish reasons, I hope he stays on our sideline.
  16. Great idea! Let's hope the Jets stay to form and completely whiff on this hire. Would Dick Jauron come out of retirement for them? Is Rich Kotite to old? They could always go back to Rex Ryan.
  17. Of course Josh is deserving of it - but I am an admittedly a biased Bill's homer. Most likely though, it will be whomever signs last. Surprised there is no support for Mason Rudolph, lol. Remember seeing some pre-draft love for him around here back then ...
  18. I do not want to play against Brady in the Super Bowl. No way I want to see that arrogant dude (most of the words I wanted to use are inappropriate) have the satisfaction of even reaching another Super Bowl. JUST GO AWAY TOM.
  19. That's one of my favorite dreams too. For a second there, I felt a little queasy - because I thought that Sherlick Holmes had posted this. Then I realized it was someone else and my mind instantly drifted off to my favorite ladies yoga pants dream ... I guess I prefer to think about the Bill's when I am awake, lol.
  20. It might be just me, and this probably doesn't even make anyone else's top 50 plays list- but ever since I was a kid I always thought the Statue of Liberty play was fun and cool. I loved that our team had the guts to run it during an NFL game. Even though the resulting TD was called back - I thought that the fact that we had the people & the moxy to do something like that in a potentially division clinching game said something about this team. That really brought a smile to my face.
  21. Yes - some guys are better coordinators than head coaches - such as Anthony Lynn. Always liked Lynn when he was with the Bills, but it looks more like OC is his specialty. Who knows about Daboll - can't begrudge a man for trying to reach the "top" of his profession, if that is what he wants. Maybe we are lucky & he is happy reaching his "dream" job as OC of his hometown Bill's and prefers to stay home rather than go to So Cal. But how do you turn down all that money? I thinks he takes the HC job of it is offered.
  22. Definitely a possible factor in our favor - a dome team playing in Orchard Park in January. I know that we can't count on extended forecasts, but the extended currently shows Saturday as a high of 29 degrees with light winds. Perhaps that would be cold enough to bother the dome acclimated Colts, but be a great day for our offense to shine.
  23. Yes - anything can happen in the playoffs. The Colts defense is competitive, but I am confident that our offense will adequately produce - if our "D" plays as it has recently - slowing down the run & putting a lot of pressure on Rivers - I see that as a winning formula for the Bills.
  24. I don't think it matters much who we play next - I do not fear any of these potential foes much more than the others. We should be well able to handle any of them - win 2 games & we'll see KC in the AFC Championship game (if KC makes it that far!).
