  1. Seriously - I would pick Doug Pederson - he won a Super Bowl with Nick Foles at QB. Maybe Bill Parsells - he won one with Jeff Hostetler at QB. That seems like a better coaching job in the big game than trotting out Brady or Mahomes as your QB.
  2. Haven't seen anybody pick Adam Gase yet - he is my choice (sorry Jimmy Spags).
  3. Every year is a make-or-break year for an NFL Head Coach. If your team implodes & goes something like 3-14 anyone would be likely to get fired or "forced" to retire. if you have enough stature & reputation in the league the quiet part would never be said out loud ... but you would be removed from your job.
  4. This is it for me - the Vikings are the Buffalo Bills of the Midwest ... I'd be all for them winning - except, of course, if they are playing the Buffalo Bills of the East.
  5. Anyone can throw out any crazy prediction about the NFL in June - here's mine: The Patriots (who I despise) will finish ahead of the Jets in the AFC East Standings this year! That makes as much sense as saying the Bills will finish about .500 - while possible, as anything can happen in an NFL Season - I can't see either as likely.
  6. I couldn't agree more. Following the Bills is a fun hobby for me. I greatly enjoy that they are once again fun & enjoyable to watch and root for. I don't like when they underperform - but I don't get to upset about it. I would love to see a Super Bowl win in my lifetime (I'm getting on the "older" side). However - I fully plan on continuing to enjoy the ride with the team as I have done through the last 50 years or so. I used to play golf on a regular basis too - that turned out to be a very frustrating game to me - so I stopped playing it - because I stopped enjoying it. I intend to always remain a Bills fan - & enjoying the ride wherever it leads each season. I suggest not being a "Negative Nancy" or a blinded "homer" - just relax & enjoy that we have a fun & entertaining team to root for & discuss - and maybe, just maybe, they might hoist a Lombardi trophy one day - now that would be exciting & fun - but either way I intend to have fun seeing where it leads.
  7. I may be older than many of you -- I don't have the time (or sometimes the memory) to list all the cars that I have owned. However, my favorite car was my first - which was a 1966 Plymouth Valiant with a push button transmission. How I loved that car. Fun to drive & it had a roomy backseat area - which often came in handy in my teenage years. Those were the days .... 😊
  8. Jimmy S. --- Welcome back. I look forward to your posts every year!
  9. I love that we are opening up against the Jets - tough divisional test against a pre-season media hyped opponent. Don't like it being on Monday night, though. I just hate having to wait that extra day to see the Bills opener. Can't wait to hear what Jimmy Spagnola has to say about this ... lol ..
  10. The NFL does not seem to realize that the long-term effects of tying their business so closely to the gambling industry may not serve to maximize their profits and might possibly cause their massive money-making enterprise to crumble someday. " "
  11. I love the sport of football & the Bills - but my goodness is there any limit to the hypocrisy of the NFL regarding gambling. They are in bed with the gambling industry - their profits are greatly enhanced by people gambling on their games - yet feel they can act surprised when issues like this crop up.
  12. I may, admittedly, just be a simpleton - but these are the only "tiers" that matter to me: Tier 1 - Teams that I live & die to see win every week --- Buffalo Bills Tier 2 - Teams that I intensely dislike and hope to see lose every week --- NE Patriots, Miami Dolphins, NY Jets, Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys Tier 3 - Teams that I only care if they win or lose if it affects the Bills in the standings --- all other NFL teams.
  13. I am completely unqualified & unable to have an opinion on whether Josh looks ridiculous as a model. I suggest we refer to a more qualified & knowledgeable source - Sherlock Holmes - can you weigh in on this topic too?
  14. I like it too - acquiring solid veteran depth - someone with some history of NFL success - is a solid signing.
  15. I think that the answer is Davis. I tend to believe Brandon Beane's words about having faith in Davis. Also - expecting big numbers from any rookie tight end is definitely a reach. Kincaid can be in the dream process of developing into a generational talent at TE - yet still have somewhat muted stats in his rookie year. Would not expect him to be #2 in targets next season.
  16. Maybe the David Byrne "Big Suit" can be the new game day look for the team. If it is made a little more colorful - then I am sure that Cam would be on board for it. Come to think of it, given the physique of some of our offensive lineman (I'm thinking of you Dion Dawkins) the Big Suit might not look silly at all.
  17. The way Cam tends to dress he'll fit right in on the streets in Western New York - he'll blend into the crowd so well that he'll hardly be noticed.
  18. Unless we make significant changes to the defensive scheme we run -- Klein would be an extreme liability in pass coverage. Going with Klein as our MLB would require more than just putting him into Edmund's former role - he is not a "plug & play" replacement for Tremaine Edmunds. Although - used in a proper role - Klein can be an asset to our defense.
  19. I am a long-term fan (since 1970) - and I must say that it is so refreshing to be worrying a about a "down year" instead of "down decades" as was sometimes the case in the past, lol. Thanks to the McBeane regime and Josh Allen for bringing so much fun & success into our Bills fandom experience. In my opinion, keeping the team in contention - year after year - increases our likelihood of eventually hoisting a Lombardi trophy more than a reckless "all-in" one year that may or may not succeed & could set the franchise back for years if unsuccessful.
  20. This! Concentrate on further strengthening our offense - draft the best O-lineman & WR's available with our early round picks. Then use later rounds to fortify the defense. Work on "coaching up" our defenders. Given the state of current NFL rules - which too often (in my opinion) minimize the effectiveness of even the best of defensive players - I Would rather have the bulk of our elite talent on the offensive side of the ball. Nothing against top notch defenders - but the NFL rules now seem to stack the deck against any player on the defensive side of the line of scrimmage.
  21. I lived in the Cincinnati Area for a number of years & still have family & friends down there (some of whom are, unfortunately Bengals fans). I can attest that many Bengals fans are paranoid about not being able to go all the way to a Super Bowl win. Their paranoia seems to rival that of many Bills fans ... lol.
  22. The roster last year depended too heavily on players over 30 -- the Bills need to get younger - they do not need to add additional overpriced 30 - something players to the roster. I can't understand the clamor by some to add additional expensive & over-priced veterans to the roster (Hopkins, OBJ, etc.). We need to draft well & sign younger, up & coming free agents to improve - not older guys with "name recognition". Look at some of these names (all over 30) that were on last season's roster - many of these players were heavily relied upon (although some were just bit players): - M. Barkley - C. Beasley - Hyde - D. Jones - G. Mancz - S. Martin - T. Matakevich - V. Miller -M. Morse - J. Poyer - Quessenberry - T. Jones - AJ Klein - D. Marlowe - J. Phillips - R. Saffold - G. Van Roten I am not sure of how this list stacks up the rosters of our competitors - and I know that we have already moved on from a number of the players on this list - but in my opinion our roster needs to get younger for use to maintain our status as one of the top teams in the league.
  23. How does Daboll committing to a run game with the Giants affect our offense, lol ....
  24. I will never be able to understand some people's obsession with suggesting to move established NFL starting quality players to positions that they have never played. I would not want my orthopedic surgeon to try his hand at filling a cavity for me or want my dentist to perform my hip replacement. While it is possible to change positions mid-stream in a player's career - many of these players have years of development in a position - usually tough to just toss that out the window & start over at a new position.
