Which of the following is more Billsy? Retaining Sean McDermott for 2024 Replacing Sean McDermott for 2024

34 points ought to be enough to win a game coached by a defensive guru.

But are still using injuries as a reason for failure
-
Things have gotten to a point, where before every single play on offense, defense or special teams, my thought wathcing the game is "who is going screw up this time". I don't remember feeling that way even during the drought years. Is this just me, or does every play bring you a sense of foreboding

McD failed as a DC this season. His failure is on him.

McD on late game decisions - "Hindsight is always 20/20"
Chaos replied to HomeskillitMoorman's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here is the funniest part of McDermott's inane comment. Even with hindsight he won't say he would do it differently He is just as dense in hindsight as he is in real-time. -
Douglas, Poyer, Hyde, Benford. Coach has plenty of talent in the secondary

People seem to also forget, Philly made the kick harder on themselves with Penalties than the Bills defense did. -
This all makes sense to me.

Cook didn't show up yesterday. He ran to avoid contact, rather than work for a first down, on one of his first runs from scrimmage. Cook had 16 carries yesterday. 2.7 Yards per carry. The Bills put up 34 points on Josh Allen's back. More playing time for Cook would not have changed the 34 point performance. The defense folded in the fourth quarter. People are over complicating things.

Chance of Playoffs now, according to NYT simulator

We're Going To The Playoffs. (edit: Updated - Super Bowl)
Chaos replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
Miami is three games ahead of the Bills in the loss column. The don't need to run the table. This is the Dolphins remaining schedule Commanders (below 500) Titans (Below 500) Jets (Below 500) Cowboys (above 500) Ravens (above 500) Bills (above 500) If the Bills win 5 in a row, I would say they have a 50/50 chance to win the division. -

Work your simulator magic, to show how the Bills get into the playoffs ahead of all of the Browns, Broncos, Steelers, Colts and Titans. If the Dolphins finish 12-5 and or better, 11-6 Bills will lose tiebreakers in almost every scenario. Show a realistic scenario, where the Dolphins are 12-5, The Bills 11-6, and the Bills get in as a wildcard. Otherwise you are posting out of your hat. -
Going into week 17, it is a near certainty, the Ravens will have clinched a playoff spot, and almost a near certainty they will have clinched the division. And somewhere around a 50/50 chance they will have the #1 seed locked up. Assuming the Bills win out, they still most likely need to win the division to advance to the playoffs. To win the division, in addition to the Bills beating the Dolphins, they need the Dolphins to lose two other games. Based on talent level, the Ravens and Cowboys are the most likely teams to beat the Dolphins. The Cowboys will be motivated to beat the Dolphins at the time they play. The Ravens may be faced with the following situation, beat the Dolphins and play the very hot Bills team (scenario is the Bills win out) as a playoff opponent. Or rest the team up and face the Dolphins as a playoff opponent. This would be an interesting decision for Harbaugh. The most speculative part of this scenario is the Bills winning out. And there is other speculation. But aside from the Bills winning out, I think this game will likely be the most critical non-Bills game left on the schedule.

Ah, clever job security strategy for the HC. -

Bills beating Miami, and Miami losing to any two other teams is the Bills only realistic chance. You have identiified the most likely two other losses, but we can pray for upsets. -

This is the result of the Bills winning out, and the likely favorite winning all of the other games. -
