  1. Not likely . Here are 2023 numbers for the most penalized teams. Dallas and Chicago are pretty big markets
  2. one is rookie, one is a veteran. The rookie had zero penalties his senior year in college. I suspect like all other skills, some players are always going to be better than others at not taking penalties.
  3. 10-player to 3 ref ratio 22 players on the field using the same ratio suggests wait for it 7 refs in an nfl game. Square feet of an NBA court to cover 4700 square feet. Square feet of football field = 57600. Based on size of field of play, the NFL would 37 referees to have the same coverage. The idea that three people could cover the field, while on the field, seems crazy. Here is my crazy idea: have 66 refs watching on monitors, rather than from on the field, with three people monitoring each player. Similar to Olympic boxing scoring, all three need to signal a penalty on the player they are watching, and there is 1 or 2 people on the field designated to throw the flag. If three people in real time agree a penatly happened, it is almost certain it is a penalty. 66 people may sound like a lot, but given there are 60,000 people in the stadium and millions watching on TV, its not really that big of a number.
  4. Another theory is that the is more on Beane than McDermott. For example Torrence has 5 penalties this season. Spencer Brown has 18 penalties. Same coach, different players. Maybe this is something to consider when building the roster. Maybe the penalty prone can't have it coached out of you. However 12 men on the field causing a defeat on the last play of the game is 100% a head coaching failure.
  5. How many points does the offense need to score each game to win 5-0. Will 34 in every game be enough? Or does it need to be higher to overcome the defense's shortcoming?
  6. It is highly possible no NFL team wins five in a row during the reminder of the 2023 season.
  7. Is "Trust the Process" still a thing? What phase of the process have we progressed too?
  8. How many teams do you think Ertz thinks are "super bowl contenders" Its not clear to me that 33 to 1 underdogs are viewed by objective non-Bills fans as "contenders"
  9. Hope is not a strategy. Nor does it describe a "contender".
  10. Personally, I think if you fail in the playoffs, by definition, you are not one of the best defenses in the league.
  11. That is fine. That is not what he did though.
  12. “Oh yes I think so” means exactly the same thing as “I literally don’t know what happened”
  13. https://sports.yahoo.com/von-miller-alleged-victim-no-150009454.html Von Miller’s alleged victim: ‘No one assaulted anyone’
  14. Refs take 2 tds in a row from Seattle. Seahawks keeping composure and scorint the third TD. Kudos
  15. Carroll didn't get his time out earlier, and then Dallas gets one here. Such BS.
  16. Pete > Mike
  17. What is the proper number of seconds left when a kneel down is appropriate.
  18. Winning the Super Bowl was a good accomplishment. Starting 3rd round draft pick R. Wilson as a rookie was a pretty successful bold stroke too. Carrol is likely a hall of famer.
  19. Cooks was wide open. wow
  20. how do you know you would be calm cool and collected after being stabbed
  21. I don't know what happened. But if someone just choked you , beat you and pulled your hair out, when you called 911 it seems reasonable your language might not be precise.
  22. At the moment Seattle has a ref problem. Dallas has a reffing solution.
  23. I hate the TNF production values. Camera angles are often wrong. Often awkward.
