This is what we know from reports: 1) The victim called 911 and said she was being assaulted. 2)the victim recanted and said she lied on the first call. For anyone to claim they know anything more, means they know which of the two times the reporter lied. (Its possible to speculate, but only two people have first hand knowledge of which was a lie). As far as prosecuting Miller, if the woman who called 911 is willing to testify that she lied on that call, and told the truth the second time, this creates a problem for the prosecution. One choice they have is to not proceed. The other choice is to proceed and attack her on the stand. The conundrum for the prosecutor, is that they believe she is already a victim, attacking her on the stand makes her a different kind of victim. They may not be willing to do this. If they go forward with the prosecution, and they attack her on the stand, and they lose the case, its an unmitigated disaster on multiple levels.

I would be surprised if you could go through the schedule and come up with even a single scenario where that is possible.

If you read my previous post, I am most definitely making estimates about future weeks. Because those count too. Since I won't be suiting up for today's games, there is really no reason not to look ahead.

If you assume the Broncos and Texans are equally likely to lose games after this weekend, a Bills fan would definitely want to root for the Broncos. Personally I think the Broncos are an illusion and the Texans are on the rise, so I think the Broncos are more likely to lose after this weekend. But at least someone will lose this game.

I empathize. But the current woes are different than the drought year woes. The season used to only be 14 games. We have played 12 and are still in contention theoetically. Instead of being upset that the Bills will might miss the playoffs, I am trying to convince myself that the Bills have blessed us by bring the playoffs early, and not only that, we may get to see them play as many as these playoff games. Just win baby.

In this particular thread, the comment about experiment is not about the outcome of the experiment. The NFL's willingness to do an experiment at all that is likely to affect fair competition is a direct hit to the leagues credibility and integrity. The lack of self-awareness (or alternatively arrogance) by Goodell making these comments is problematic to me. In 1919 MLB brought in an independent commissioner to stamp out gamblings influence. Ironically gamblings influence in the NFL is likely to lead to a calls for an independent commissioner to restore integrity to the NFL.

Basically the Bills are starting a double elimination tournament next week. First loss puts us in the loser bracket. Second loss at any point ends the season. It is only going to take an 8-1 run to be super bowl champions.
