If they have witnesses saying she was claiming it, then it's reasonable to assume she told everyone, including him. Maybe he overheard her say it? Are you trying to claim she told different people different stories? If you're going around saying your 18, then I doubt you are saying something different to others.

What about her lying about her age and drinking while underage? Is that ethical and moral behavior on her part?

This is pretty much the way I am leaning based upon everything I've heard and read. They're going to need DNA, along with witnesses to say he was in that room when the attack occurred in order to find him guilty of anything except possibly having a sexual encounter with a 17 YO that was telling people she was 18. I'm also guessing they don't have that...which is why they dropped the Civil suit at the time it can cause the most damage to Araiza.

But we haven't even reached that point where we know if there will be charges, so the system hasn't even had a chance to fail. Civil suit at this point is indeed a red flag. Having charges and evidence to produce in court would bolster her chances of winning They are proceeding with neither

A judge or a jury may look at the accuser differently if she was lying about her age the night this apparently took place What else was she not being truthful about if she is lying about her age? There's no telling what her motives could have been. I'm not arguing the legal ramifications of her saying she was 18 Not sure why you keep trying to state that I'm saying it matters. Civil suit filed before charges brought makes zero sense Having a jury find you guilty, or having DNA evidence strengthens your civil suit I seriously doubt they have anything, and that this case is completely bogus

If they did, they wouldn't be filing a civil suit before criminal charges are brought I agree with your assessment

His lawyer pretty much nailed it in his TV appearance when he said that it's a huge red flag to file a civil suit before we even know if there will be a criminal charge. That in itself is very telling IMO

Tells me their "lawsuit" is full of holes Listening to the news report and her account of what took place, I don't know how she even knew who anyone was...being her claims of being completely trashed to the point where she was out for 90% of the supposed attack If the DNA evidence isn't there, then I would say she has no chance of getting even a civil court payout

The timing is perfect for the accuser His lawyer says they have witnesses (including a friend of the accuser) saying it didn't happen. I have major doubts about this being true, but the media storm and publicity may be too much for the Bills to keep him on the team until it gets sorted out.
