I think you have to tier them (but I'll rank them inside each tier too): Tier A Shakir Palmer Samuel (when healthy) All "proven" WRs who put up respectable enough numbers and are known commodities. Outside of injury, you shouldn't get surprised here on what you get. Tier B Kincaid Coleman Moore All high round draft picks who show a lot of potential but haven't had the volume or opportunity to be "the guy". Lots of upside potential here but unrealized at this point in time. I like that the Bills have guys in this tier because one of them very well pop off and rocket to the top of tier A by the end of the season. Tier Knox Dawson Knox lives here. He's fine. Tier "WGR caller from Cheektowaga" KJ Hamler Laviska Shenault Jr. Jalen Virgil Tyrell Shavers As far as I'm concerned, for this upcoming season, these guys are only here for drunk retirees to call in to WGR from ~6-9:30 and blather about how we need to "give them a shot". Realistically, they should only be active on gameday if it's the preseason or something horrific has happened to the WR room.

That seems pretty cheap all things considered. I'm guessing the Steelers wouldn't have traded him inside the conference, because it seems like the Chiefs or Bills would have been at least in the running for a player like this.

I'm firmly in the camp that losing Davis was addition by subtraction, even though he had some great games as a Bill. So many of Allen's INTs two seasons ago were Davis targets. Maybe he'd be fine as a WR5 depth piece if you never give him a choice or option route. I swear to god he was never on the same page as Allen.

Prime Jordan Phillips had almost 10 sacks in a season, his skillset was maximized here in Buffalo. If Walker has a performance like that within the first 3 years of playing with the Bills it'll be a slam dunk pick.

Decent signing since they didn’t get anyone in the draft. Lots of upside, been with bad QBs and orgs his whole career. Fast. Outside and slot ability. Big fan of this.

If Moore ends up with the Bills he will likely have a career year. I'd bet on it if I wasn't morally against that kind of thing.

For real, it should be an easy decision for someone as young as Moore. Sign a two year deal, get inflated stats because Allen's gonna Allen, go off and sign/fleece another team with a Gabe Davis level contract. I like Moore a lot in the draft process, so I don't see much reason not to. He's got great upside.

Can't miss? There wasn't one. Not really the point though. NFL history has plenty of WRs taken in late rounds who end up being great. 5-6th round guys who end up surprising everyone. You can't get the next Puka Nacua without taking a swing. That's really my only complaint with Beane this draft. You need to shore up the defense with 4 big draft picks? Sure, I trust you. Throw Allen a bone though with some 5th-6th round lottery tickets and maybe a guy will shock you coming out of training camp.

Coleman could still be decent, his ceiling is huge. Whether or not it's attainable is an entirely other question. Honestly if they go out and sign Moore and maybe another guy who's had potential but couldn't put it together I'll be satisfied for the most part. That's probably about the same as getting a WR in the 4-5th round in terms of potential. Beane shouldn't be so salty when folks rightfully question the room though, it's very clearly something that Allen elevates, not something that's a strength.

Jefferson went 22nd so I don't know if you're making the point you want to make. That would be absolutely reachable this draft if the Bills wanted to. I'm not saying the Bills were wrong for not going and getting someone like Golden, to be fair.

Beane was extremely defensive about his decision making process, obviously way more than was warranted. He's probably not having a great morning and is taking aggression out. I don't think the morning show is particularly critical to the Bills, the afternoon show is way more worse and condescending towards Beane's decisions.

Pretty surprising (to me anyways) considering how McDermott and Beane talked about Coleman in the end of year pressers. I'd love it to see a leap forward and be proven wrong, but I think it's not the best strategy to count on it.

I’m not a fan of the day three strategy, although the individual players are fine. Overall I think I sum up the draft like this: It better work, otherwise Beane and McD are going to look pretty silly. If we get the same playoff result with the defense underperforming it’ll be a massive inditement on McD and Beane.

Not “precipitous” but enough to lose us enough close games to matter. Day 3 flyers for actual competition in a room that’s largely responsible for most of your points isn’t a big ask.

To expect the same production after 19 games of showing your system with largely the same players is crazy.

To not even try and bring in competition at offense is nuts to me. Its not like the WR core is even really considered to be top 16

It’s frustrating to finally have a talent at QB finally and then just not try to maximize him at all. Been waiting since Kelly and we are doing Allen dirty.

Do they just hate WR as a concept? Got to pray there are a lot of steps forward in the skill positions I guess. Bad strategy.

If we get knocked out of the playoffs again because of the defense after this draft it’s going to seriously bring Beane into question. No excuses now.

I’m aware. At this point though I’d think the talent would outweigh that, as a flyer at least.
