A playoff win is not the goal, to say so is a bit of a red herring imo. A playoff win / AFCE crown is a logical “next step”. The end Goal has always been to win it all. One just needs to be aware enough to understand that the end goal is not always attainable, ie; the seventeen years of futility being an example of the end goal not being attainable... those that declare the team a failure for not reaching a certain goal, when it was likely never going to happen to begin with deservedly suffer a fool’s errand... I agree with the division and a playoff win, being the next logical step. Consider though, many things could go wrong that are not controllable by the team, that could derail the above, ie Covid, an injury to our QB etc, so the failure word could likely be over the top/jumping the shark as it were. If Lawrence does this it will benefit him greatly long term, it will cause some obvious embarrassment for the jets ownership, but it won’t cause any beneficial change, in that it’s the jets after all.

All three of those will hold true, depending on what the owners decide to do. The owners are the league, and if they don’t want to cut it back they won’t.
