  1. Wow. I think it’s wishful thinking to be honest. I also believe that things are viewed a little more differently in certain areas of the country that haven’t been hit as hard to this point. I seriously doubt early games will happen on schedule, let alone later on. We shall see.
  2. With all the COVID related sports cancellations, and the possible delay/cancellation of the 2020 college football season...I got to thinking about the supplemental draft and it’s potential impact on the 2020 NFL season. The supplemental draft happens every July for prospects that have been removed from high school for three years, just like the normal process. The difference is, these prospects either didn’t file their paperwork in time for the previous draft or became academically ineligible for whatever reason. I think that this year there will be special circumstances for players that decided to forgo the draft to return to school for another year. If there is no season due to COVID the NCAA and NFL might allow it. If that is the case, then there will be some huge names this July. It could be like another draft with the amount of players that could throw their names into the ring. One name that really stands out for me could be Pat Freiermuth from Penn State. If he came out this year, he would have likely been the top TE in the draft. I really thought Beane would have taken a TE at some point, but the value wasn’t there when he picked. A guy like Freiermuth would be worth a first round bid IMO. He is a complete TE. Imagine him and Knox for the next 3 years or more... Here is a link I found supporting this idea... https://www.google.com/amp/s/sportsnaut.com/2020/04/report-nfl-could-see-influx-of-cfb-players-applying-for-supplemental-draft/amp/
  3. I like this A LOT!!! Was considered a first rounder in most mocks for two years before injury concerns.
  4. Yeah I’m so sick of loading up with premium defensive picks.
  5. Yes...it’s overblown. I haven’t heard anyone talk about this as much as Joe B and Fairburn. It’s gotten really annoying and I’d be pretty upset if we took a luxury over a more glaring need than RB or edge.
  6. OP...why? So we can let another washed up RB split time with our young emerging RB? Makes zero sense. Zero. Then we would be back in the same boat next year. We need to get another young RB to form a duo with Singletary that we can control for the next four years. If we don’t get one in the second it doesn’t mean we can’t get one later in a deep draft. Good grief...
  7. No...I was voicing my opinion in the thread. Nobody gives a rip that we just signed this guy.
  8. Shenault over Pittman would make me sick to mine...
  9. Or the mighty Braves team if they want to give back their 95 WS title...
  10. I want the Dolphins to take Herbert. I think if Tua turns out to be healthy, he will be really good. I agree with this and disagree at the same time. I think Burrow is going to be a stud, but if the Dolphins get him (which they won’t IMO), then that means they gave up substantial capital to get him. This would keep them from loading up later in the first or beyond.
  11. Well I for one wouldn’t be upset at all if we went OL with our first pick. I would argue that if Oliver didn’t slip last year, Jonah Williams would have been our pick at 9.
  12. I heard that McFarland lacks vision. For me, that’s a deal breaker.
  13. I love the idea of Dobbins or Taylor for the obvious reasons. They are studs, but I really don’t see Beane and McD drafting a RB that high and causing a potential locker room situation with Singletary. That said, Cam Akers is probably the best fit, but this class is super deep. I think the best bet is hold out and get someone like Zack Moss or Justin Kelley in the fourth. Kelley is very impressive and runs angry. He has sub 4.5 speed too, which would be a change of pace from Singletary. He is very underrated, so I’ll go with Kelley in round 4.
  14. To be honest, I can see the same thing happening.
  15. All my faith in Beane would be dismissed in one fell swoop if they graded up for a safety. No. Thanks.
  16. OP...good analysis. It continues to fascinate me that Mayfield (and Darnold) get the benefit of the doubt from nearly every reporter and analyst, but the same people still spew off that Allen is no good and his accuracy sucks. Blah, blah, blah. Yet there is one of these three that actually improved last year and that’s Allen. Mayfield actually regressed horribly despite having some elite weapons all around him. Darnold has shown flashes, but nothing yet of the can’t miss variety that pundits were expecting of him. Guys, we are lucky to have Allen. He’s not a finished product, but he keeps getting better and the team loves him. His drive is relentless and he now has pieces to have sustained success. I’d take him over any of the other two in this post.
  17. I listed to a podcast yesterday with a guy that really studies the RBs. He thinks Cam Akers is the best fit for what we do here. I tend to agree.
  18. Allen and Singletary need to be more effective in the screen game too. If they are...watch out...
  19. The other alternative is that he could have looked exactly the same as last year. Please forgive us for being positive. Good grief...
  20. Well. You’re wrong. Period. Yes, he did “this” in training camp videos last year and those videos translates to marked improvement in year 2. Maybe not the deep ball, but the short to intermediate stuff was remarkably better and that’s what he didn’t do well at all in year one. But who cares what I think...be miserable all you want! ?
