They can’t keep everyone. They have to be operating on the idea that White, Allen, and Edmunds are going to be extended. Beyond that, Dawkins will probably get a raise. The casualty in this might be Milano. He’s a nice player, but he’s not an essential player. He isn’t a QB, LT, ***** down corner, middle linebacker, or pass rusher. He can be replaced in the draft.

Internally there’s some love for Tee Higgins

The thing that blows me away about Higgins is how his hands just seem to absorb the ball. It’s so smooth and effortless. With the velocity that Allen puts on the ball, I think this is a trait that could really stand out for Beane. -

Yep...boy that didn’t translate to actual games did it? -

It’s beyond hilarious how much people dislike Higgins. His numbers didn’t blow anyone away but they didn’t send up red flags either. His claim to fame is his play on the field and actually catching the ball. -

Another great point. I love Allen, but let’s face it, he’s an area code thrower on deep balls and that’s where a guy like Higgins could bail him out a lot. We already have our burner in Brown, but we need an area code, catch radius guy like Higgins now. -

Spot on my man. Higgins is a technician and has the production to back it up. We worry too much about numbers and ignore what really matters...playing the game. -

Exactly. Which is precisely my point. Thank you for posting this because I was about to post that very tweet. He just catches the ball so well and hardly ever even bobbles it. Who throws the hardest ball in the league? Arguably, it’s Josh Allen. That’s exactly why you need someone whose specialty is catching the ball out front with his hands. Tee Higgins can be that guy. -

Yeah “chief” he did nothing to cause anyone to be concerned... https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.greenvilleonline.com/amp/5008444002 I couldn’t care less who we draft because I trust Beane. He will see the right pick. But like I said, Higgins never was a burner, but he’s a gamer on the field and does his job. Look no further than our own guy Devin Singletary. He “disappointed” with a 4.66 at the combine, but his vision and instincts can’t be denied. Bottom line...don’t get too caught up in workout numbers and ignore the actual on field ability. -

Tee’s numbers are fine for a player his size. If anything he helped himself. Your condescending remarks don’t make you more intelligent than others. They are just opinions like mine. Relax dude... -

Haha. I’m not mad at all. Nice try. Remind me again what DeAndre Hopkins did at his pre draft workout. Bottom line is you either have it or you don’t. Higgins shows up big when it matters. No one can debate that. -

Who cares? You k ow what matters? That he played for one of the top programs in the country and played on the biggest stage. He also produced in the big games. Just stop with these workout numbers. The guy catches a clean ball and he balls out when it matters. -

There was no indication that he wasn’t prepared going into the combine. And since you brought it up, that’s even more concerning. He had how long to “be prepared”? Not a good look... Burrows is the unquestioned number one overall pick. He literally has nothing more to prove. Completely different... -

I can certainly understand the buzz about Higgins. He might be the best in the class at catching area code balls which Allen usually throws. Especially down the field. Wouldn’t be shocked one bit if he is their target. The only thing that concerns me is his mysterious absence at the on field workouts at the combine... -
You “trade down” guys are setting yourself up for a major disappointment. A poster on the first page of this thread nailed it when he said this is the year to trade up. We already have 9 picks and our roster doesn’t have a lot of holes. We aren’t keeping all nine players so I expect a few trade ups to get as many top 75 picks as we can. I just don’t think Beane is the type to sit and allow other teams to take his guy. By trading down we will be out of the running for one of the top DEs, OTs, and someone like Mims or Jefferson. That’s too risky and Beane has made a trend to go get his guys. I think the multiple late round picks will be trade bait.

Will Cody Ford Be Our Starting RT Next Year?
whorlnut replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The correct answer is we need to see how the draft shakes out. If we go get a tackle early, then that tells us what their plans are for Ford. If we don't add a starting caliber tackle in FA or the draft, then they see Ford as a tackle. -
Versatility- McBeane loves it. Short mock based on it

Beane is VERY unlikely to trade down...if anything he is more likely to trade up to get his guy. -

Beane doesn’t trade down...

Ok...can we get past that? It’s been beaten like a rental mule throughout this thread. Haha

Skins did it last year to go up and get Sweat. Giants came up to get a corner. And the Falcons moved back into the bottom to get Kaleb McGary. Teams do it all the time when they feel they need to make a move for a guy that starts falling...

By the way...I found it...Baltimore was at 52 in 2018 and traded that pick, 125 and the following year’s 2nd to get pick 32 and Lamar Jackson. Would that make everyone feel better? They also took Hayden Hurst at 25, so the draft slot positioning is eerily similar...

Exactly. In my scenario, all we would be doing is using next year’s first rounder a year early. You’re right. It would essentially wash out. That said, it’s all hypothetical and was meant to create a discussion, but it obviously got a little too heated. We have to see what plays out.
