the missing link - an Alvin Kamara-type player

It’s 2021. No defense is stopping KC’s offense. You have to be able to keep up with them. Give me an offensive weapon any day. You can get by with an above average defense.

Daboll apologized to Beasley, Diggs after loss
whorlnut replied to Michael1962's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Daboll should apologize to the entire offense. Completely went into a shell on the big stage. -
I would normally agree with this, but he played in the SEC, which is a minor league pipeline for the nfl anyways.

Cool.

OR...realize that the only way to win in a shootout is to be able to keep up and draft offense in round 1. Then go defense in 2 or 3. Exactly. I have to admit I didn’t know much about him until I watched this, but I’m sold. Can you imagine if this guy actually caught that pass that Singletary dropped? 6 points...

Not sure where I said they didn’t need to add to both sides...

Well this is 2021, and you have to be able to score with teams like the Chiefs. Getting Star back next year will help the defense. Don’t think for one second that we are set on offense and only need to add to the d. I’d be ok with that too...

I’ve never seen someone this shifty.

I hope you’re wrong.

If you guys get 6 minutes to watch something that will blow your mind, then check this guy out... Joe Marino mentioned him along with Travis Ettienne as guys that could take this offense to the next level. I have to agree. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone that’s able to cut like this. He literally made a guy leave on a cart after breaking him down. Unreal...

Yeah I’m done with Singletary. His mistake last night might have cost us any real chance at that game. He’s proven all year that he’s not the guy. He and Moss are almost the same player, but Moss is better at breaking tackles. We have control of Moss for a year longer on his rookie deal too. I really don’t want to see Singletary in a bills uniform again. I think he’s as much to blame for how that game swung as anyone.

Cool

Can someone explain to me why Daboll completely abandoned running Allen in red zone situations? Why did he get cute when we got to that spot and not take an almost automatic score? It really makes no sense.

Here are my thoughts. First...I loved what we saw of Jackson. Seems to have a nose for the ball, hits harder than his size says he should, is willing to play special teams, and has made plays every time he’s in the game. Second...McD has typically had a stud corner on one side and a project on the other. This goes back to his Carolina days with Norman and Munnerlin. Third...I think it would be foolish to expect the Bills to draft a corner high when it’s clear we need offense and pass rush to be able to keep up with teams like the chiefs. Jackson can more than handle CB2 with Tre as CB1 going forward. There are way more pressing needs than to draft another corner.

Just rewatched the game and a few observations

I stopped reading after your first point. I completely agree on the enormity of that drop by Singletary. IMO, that completely shifted momentum and signaled the beginning of the end. Had he caught that we might have scored and continued to put pressure on the chiefs. That drop was awful. I honestly hope we never see Singletary in a bills uniform ever again. He’s just not good. We need someone that can do all this and have speed to boot. He just doesn’t have it. -
I don’t want to live in a world where we are questioning Jim Kelly. I love Allen as much as anyone, but until proven otherwise over a long career, Allen is a distant second to Jimbo. I actually can’t believe I read that to be honest. Kelly played a good game and it wasn’t his fault the defense couldn’t stop Anderson and get him the ball back. Look...the K-gun’s downfall was that we were so efficient that we scored too quickly, not allowing the defense time to rest. OP...I don’t mean to be harsh, but I’m not sure what you’re trying to accomplish here.

Again...we just don’t know. It might happen, but to say we know he’ll be gone next year is just wrong.
