THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - I've got Nuthin'

Why did you think Mahommes was classless? Honest question. I've not heard anything bad about him. -
THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - I've got Nuthin'
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Outcoached in both games. Simple as that. When it mattered most Levy and McDermott let us all down. Thurman showed up in XXV and Allen did yesterday. The guys that don't play cost the Bills and Buffalo two championships -
Bills sign 12 players to futures deals
Ethan in Cleveland replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why? What has he shown to deserve a shot? Not that I trust this team to evaluate talent, but what have you seen in practice or pre-season to warrant him getting a look? People made the same wishes for Sweeney and he is terrible. -
I thought squib but ultimately as I said in another post I was fine kicking it in the endzone. I dont want a bunch of special teams backups deciding the outcome of that game. I would rather put my defense out there to prevent them from getting in FG range as opposed to a bunch of guys that are roster bottom feeders going against world class speed.

Im trying to be kind. Just because you say the same thing four times doesn't make it any less of a worse take on what happened. Allen won the game twice. The defense lost it. Unless you advocate for Allen taking a knee and then scoring with no time on the clock there is literally nothing else Allen could have done to win that game. He is a winner. McDermott is a loser. Judging QBs by win loss record is just incredibly stupid. By every category Marino was better than Kelly but Marino did not have Thurman and Bruce. Its a team sport and Allen's team and coaching staff lost the game.

It’s time to trade for an Edge Rusher
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BillMafia716ix's topic in The Stadium Wall
That is true for DT. Not true for DE. They can produce early. AJE did not develop and looks like a bust in year two. Rousseau flashed enough that there is some hope. No idea why Basham sat all those games earlier in the year. 2nd round picks need to produce right away. What a shame when they could have had Humphrey. And that is not revisionist history. Many of us on this board were screaming for Humphrey in the second round. Remember this is the same GM that overpaid for Trent Murphy and same coaching staff that kept playing him. -
It’s time to trade for an Edge Rusher

The OL was a problem until McDumbass was forced to play Bates at guard. Why did it take 14 games to figure that out? Why was Moss getting more carries than Singletary until late in the season. Why is the starting all-pro guard on the Browns and not the Bills. Why was Davis and McKenzie criminally underused? Why did they not bring in a veteran when White went down? Jackson was so bad in training camp he barely made the final roster. Why does McKenzie or Brieda get benched for a fumble like it is HS, but Edmunds sucks all year and never is sat down. -
In the moment and even now I'm ok with kicking deep. I hate special teams and I do not want a bunch of backups on the field determining the outcome of the game. Yes if a high short kick to the 5 was covered it would have burned more clock. I'm not going to criticize McD for that decision. It was the choices to rush four and defend against a TD instead of dropping 9 into coverage to prevent the yards. He called timeout twice and still Kelce gets a free release. McD lost us a chance at a championship. For many of us it was our biggest worry going into this year.

It was a hard loss AND we closed the gap
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good take. There is no one solution. Steelers and Ravens stick with their guy. Bears fired Jauron and Lovie Smith both with winning records if memory serves and they have never recovered. Eagles moved on from Reid and won a SB a few years later. Obviously Tampa and Dungy/Gruden is the most extreme example of making a change that worked out. It is so odd. Had they lost by 10 and McD never had to coach those last 13 seconds you probably just chalk it up to KC being better and maybe a change needs to be made at DC. However when you are winning because your superstar QB made amazing plays, and you call timeouts to prepare and you still manage to screw it up by defending against a TD and the boundaries he deserves criticism. Like I said there is zero chance he is not coming back as HC. Hope he doesn't melt in the moment again. -
Nantz sucks but he was praising Bills too

That's the whole point. They aren't more talented. They are better coached. The players didn't fail the coaches did. You can't be serious? Do you think for one second the kicker gets to decide to squib it or kick it short???? That is 100% on McD. -
Are coaches always to blame - McD, Frazier & Daboll?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
Still learning????? How many passes is this fan base going to give this guy??? -
To my uneducated eye they played a lot of man coverage underneath with two deep safeties over the top. Multiple times Edmunds would go to the flat with the RB opening up the middle of the field. It took away the only thing Edmunds is good at. I guess the thought is you are doubling everyone by playing man with a safety over the top. Seems unwise as that is not the strength of our corners

One of the best receptions by a Bills WR I have ever seen. He had to elevate, twist back and then get two feet down on a scramble drill type of play. Just like his TD catch against the Cardinals, this catch will not go down in history as great as it really was.

13 seconds. It is almost impossible to let KC do what they did. Epic coaching failure.

We need capable bodies on the OL and DL. There will not be an elite pass rusher drafting in the late 20's. Trade down and restock the lines. The OL and DL were the problem all year. Of course FA can change all that. Get White back healthy and add a CB. Also get Ertz or another capable TE to back up Knox.

Trade out of the first round C/G, DE, CB, TE in the first two days

The saddest part of this loss
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall
LA is going to be a tough out. Yet strangely I can see San Fran winning that game with that defense. As above, if Frazier was competent in this game I though there was a good chance he was gone and two 3rd round picks were coming our way. Now he will just be gone. -
Why didn't Buffalo pull the Harbaugh Maneuver?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Awwufelloff's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly. They were protecting against a TD when they should have been playing them much tighter. WTF is Wallace 5 yards wide of Kelce protecting the sideline? They had three time outs and not enough time to even use the sideline. McDermott got schooled again by Reid. The best playoff performance by a Bills QB was ruined by a HC that preaches continuous improvement but doesn't improve himself.
