  1. Perfect post. Agree with every word.
  2. With the talent they added on defense so far and assuming they add a first round CB, he could be the worst of the starting 11.
  3. Add a veteran minimum guy and draft CB#2 in the first round
  4. Ward was good too and I'm not trying to take too much away from him. However, many of his blocks would now be considered illegal crack back blocks. He delivered a lot of cheap shots with blindside hits.
  5. I agree. Too much to give up and too much to pay.
  6. He is but not that much better.
  7. First I disagree that Beane "is not a trade up guy". He did for Allen, Edmunds, Ford, and Knox. In fact I think he has only traded down once in his tenure. That being said, I think the he should only trade up if he falls in love with a new Middle Linebacker and moves Edmunds for a second round pick to use to move up in the draft. A suitable WR or CB will be there in rounds 1 and 2. As I posted in another thread I feel there are just not that many open roster spots. I believe the Bills currently have 5 picks in rounds 5-7. Beane should take a punter with a day 3 pick and trade at least two or three day three picks away for picks in 2023.
  8. Contracts go with the player via trade. That is why no one wanted Cole. No one will want Star either. And trade or cut has no bearing on salary dead cap hit.
  9. I agree with that a few years ago but the roster is so stacked right now across the board. But there is typically a surprise each year
  10. He hasn't made the final roster in two years. I guess he is an after thought for me. But good call, he would be in the mix for final WR spot. If they draft a guy in the first three rounds I can't see how Hogins would have a spot.
  11. Of course not, I just assumed CB#2 was a first round draft pick. My error.
  12. They will need to make some had decisions in the future. Every team cuts players but your comments are well taken.
  13. Good catch. I edited the original post. I was assuming CB#2 will be a high draft pick
  14. I'd prefer he take the Charles Haley route and get 5 rings by getting three more with the Bills
  15. By my count I think there are really only 5 spots (RB #3, back-up QB, back-up MLB, CB#2, slot WR) to fill and a handful others to bring in for competition. RB - Currently I believe they only have 2 RBs on the roster. Given the dollars spent elsewhere so far, my guess is they choose to address this in the draft again. Punter - they will draft one and have a camp competition MLB - I'm going to assume they do not trade Edmunds. That still leaves back-up MLB in play. I would like to see Klein back on a reduced contract, but suspect this will be addressed with a mid-round draft pick. OT - with Williams gone and Morse extended, I think they shift from C/G in the draft to OT that can play guard in a pinch. Dawkins played well down the stretch but he wil lbe a prime candidate for a salary cap cut in the next year or two. C/G - At some point Bates will be signed. He is the utility knife. We all assume Ford will be gone, but he is relatively cheap has played and now has a new position coach. As above I would favor adding an OT instead of another interior lineman. Safety - Hyde was restructured but both safeties are over 30. They are going to need to save some dollars and get younger here in the near future. Adding a future starter in the draft would make sense here. Another safety can play special teams as well. TE - with Howard and Doyle playing the role of blocking TE, I don't see them addressing this any further WR - They had 7 on the roster last season after Stevenson was added off IR. I think they only keep 6 and they already have 5 under contract (Diggs, Davis, McKenzie, Kumerow, Stevenson). Do they keep 6 and draft a WR? If 7, then two rookies or do they try and sign someone? Back-up QB - free agent or draft pick? Forgot CB#2 - I am assuming they draft a CB in round 1, but an additional veteran FA is also a possibility. What do you all think?
  16. Well one of the young trio, Epenesa, is terrible. Either Addison or Hughes would be a better option on a one year deal.
  17. Because Addison and Hughes can actually play in the NFL, and Epenesa looks like a bust
  18. With TE#2 and edge addressed in FA the needs for the draft really come down to getting a CB that can start right away and a new punter. After that it is depth players and developmental players at WR, DT, LB, S, and both C/g and OT.
  19. Rousseau, Jones, Oliver, Miller Basham, Settle, Phillips, Hughes Trade Epenesa for a 7th, Cut Star, Draft a DT, Sign a couple UDFA for training camp bodies Keep 9 this year not 10. If you keep bring back Hughes, Miller could play some OLB in a 3-4 alignment or if Milano misses some time.
  20. RB is the least of my worries for this team
  21. Love it! Nice job! As long as the signing bonus is not crazy the total amount of the contract is meaningless from a cap perspective. From what I have read, it seems like silly money to make the number look good for the agent comes in the final years. He will never see those dollars.
  22. Really liked last offseason moves and and so far this off-season has been stellar. Yes Williams deal didn't work out great but I'm not going to go back and criticize him now when I praised it last year. Let's hope the coaches get it right this time
  23. Love it! I wanted Bills to trade up and get him in the draft. Beane is doing really well so far. Happy with all his moves so far!
  24. Pretty sure your numbers are correct. Depending on how much more they want to spend, it might make sense to just keep Star and not push out the cap hit to 2023.
