  1. A healthy Moss should sit. Yeldon is playing better. Spain was benched when he was healthy. If they want him to play it will be interesting to see if they move him back to LG and FORD back to RG. What is the over under on number of plays until Milano gets hurt again? Obviously White being able to play is huge but Brown is critically important too.
  2. Thanks for posting. As much as it shows Bills OL has work to do it shows how good Tenn D is. And also how poorly the Bills DL is playing compared to a well coached team.
  3. Good topic. So far everyone is spot on. Allen needs to be patient and check down and keep moving the chains. Brown and Diggs just need to find the spots in the intermediate zone areas. And don’t forget about Knox,Beasley, and Singletary. Brown makes them all better even if Brown only gets a handful of targets.
  4. Wallace has never played nickel. Not sure how much Norman has. Johnson has regressed it seems. He was a guy that when playing he made the defense better and when he was injured in years past it was a noticeable drop off. I'm not opposed to any upgrade attempt for the defense, but nickel DB is far below the immediate need to get better LB and DL for me.
  5. Yeldon was better than Gore last year and he is better than Moss too. Singletary should still start and get the bulk of the work. The run game is about the line than anything else. Also Gilliam should sit. Lee Smith is more valuable as a blocker.
  6. Yup. While I wanted a pass rusher when Dobbins was on the board he should have been the pick.
  7. You are correct in that the number 1 issue that needed to be settled this year was Allen. But you should never put off a chance of winning now. No one knows what will happen with the salary cap and current and future roster makeup. Win when you have the franchise QB on a rookie deal. Now I don't advocate being stupid and wasteful like the Texans, but spending some future draft capital to win now is the right move. It was the right move when Beane traded for KB. Even though it did not work out in that deal it should not dissuade future moves this year.
  8. I know I am in the minority but others have supported me. I hate the Bills mafia moniker. Especially the drunken table jumping morons. Its an emberassment to the team and anyone from the region.
  9. So if he was struggling would they give up 60 points? I'm sorry but we can see and analyze the plays too. He is playing terribly. Now I'm sure there are many plays we can't tell who meses up. When they lost contain we don't know if the DE crashes inside and someone else is supposed to cover outside, who screwed up? Who knows. But the eyes tell us Edmunds is still out of positon often and slow to diagnose plays.
  10. My point is Bobby April has had top units and bottom ranked units. The concepts are very basic especially with the rule changes. So praising of blaming the coordinator is useless.
  11. Special teams coordinators are meaningless. They are meaningless when times are good and when times are bad. Roberts is a fine punt returner. He makes good decisions on fielding the ball. I do agree with OP that almost always if the ball is kicked in the EZ he should not bring the kickoff out. The concern should be that the Bills waste roster spots on guys that only play special teams. We have a LB on the roster that is not good enough to play LB. Why? A single sixth WR that is a gunner or a back end of the roster DB as a gunner would be fine but nothing more than that.
  12. Ugh I took a bus with a bunch of Bills Backers members from Columbus OH to that game. Detroit ran a successful flea flicker on the first drive maybe even the first play. And it was downhill from there.
  13. Don't forget the Dallas MNF game in the national embarrassment list Maybe we were deluded as to how much talent those SB teams had. In comparison to other AFC teams, sure, but in the end not close to the best of the NFC. And it is the same issue again. Finesse versus power. Bills are finesse and dare I say soft at the point of attack. No different than the SB years. The big difference is the defense had Bruce Smith who could wreck a game plan by himself.
  14. I will be honest I don't know if he was on either kickoff or kick return team. Lorax played some stand up LB for both Rex and McD. I think he got most of his defensive snaps at DE # 4, but if I recall correclty he moved up and down th eline and ligned up at DT once or twice a game.
  15. Edmunds has plenty of game experience to start using the bust label. The unknown is how hurt is he? Maybe the guy is playing with one shoulder like Biscuit did one year. Maybe he needs off-season surgery. If not then he has regressed badly. As for Knox, he has barley played more than 16 games and in fact he is still learning the NFL TE position. Too soon to call him a bust but certainly is ok to be worried about his career trajectory and catching ability.
  16. Raiders couldn't stop Allen but did ok against Mahomes. Belichick did it as well. I would not be surprised with any result. I doubt the Bills blow them out but Andy Reid has coached some duds and with Watkins hurt maybe the Bills D plays well. That said if the Bills got blown out I would not be surprised either especially if White is out again.
  17. Right now every snap I have seen he has been at DE with hand in the ground. If the want him to be a strong side LB then it was foolish of them to use a 2nd round pick. In this defense the strong side LB is on the field maybe 25% of the time. They play two LB's or less 75% of the time.
  18. Agreed. I'd put the 49ers game in the should win list. Dolphins will be as tough to be beat again as it will be to split with New England. But Bills can win all three and a sweep of Belichick would be a great step forward for this team.
  19. I'd be quite happy with 5-2. But that does not mean I still wouldn't be concerned about the next 9 games. Seriously if McD can't beat Belichick at least once this year, then we have bigger issues than we think.
  20. Yes they are 4-1 but they had 4th quarter deficits in three of those games. If they lost a close game yesterday I think the panic would be less. But the defense has been consistently awful with a different excuse for each game. I will grant you injury issues but there are no DL injuries and they have sucked all year. 11-5 is still quite possible but I had them at 11-5 with a win over Tenn. I'm worried about Pats (Newton and mental issues with that team), Seattle, Pittsburgh, KC, and maybe AZ. That is five possible losses that gets them to 10-6 at which time the playoff scenarios get more dicey. Like I said in another post they should be favored or no more than 4 pt dogs in any game the rest of the way.
  21. Unlike Edmunds who I am ready to call a bust at MLB, it is too soon to give up on Knox and Oliver. Knox is the most physically gifted tight end the Bills have had in decades and he is still learning the positon( he had very few targets in college). He deserves more time but I would be fine trading for Ertz as a one year rental. Oliver is getting close to bust category but I will hold off until week 8 next year before making a final opinion. DT takes a long time to develop.
  22. Well that is entirely untrue. Fumbles to some degree are given the uncertainty of the recovery of the ball. But strip sacks are about technique and pressure does lead to interceptions( not all of course). I agree that the lack of holding calls makes pass rushing more difficult. But it doesn't diminish the importance of pressuring the QB.
  23. I was right before the season, when I started this thread, and I'm still right. The defense is terrible and its not just 2020 phenomenon. Bills need to make a move or two to improve front 7. It may be they need a true #1 technique guy that can free up Oliver. Maybe they bench Murphy for Epenesa. Could he be any worse? Hopefully Beane realizes now it's a crisis and he can work some magic.
