  1. Agreed. I think FA will be really slow process as guys try to wait out deals that may never come
  2. Cuts I expect - two of the three DL - Jefferson, Addison, and Butler will be gone Cuts I fear will happen - Brown Cuts I would not be shocked but don't expect - Morse, Star Cuts that could happen but I would be shocked - Hughes, Hyde, Fromm
  3. How about if you recover an onside kick you automatically get 3 points and the ball. Then the losing team has a real fighting chance!
  4. I don't think they have the cap space to waste on a high-price proven FA tight-end. I'm going all in on Knox for 2021. If they can get Cook or Reed on a 1 year cheap deal I'm fine with that. Kroft, Smith. and Gilliam combined for 16 receptions all year. Any street FA or mid-low round draft pick can replace that. Save the cap space for the lines. Don't make it more complicated than that.
  5. Good analysis. My only quibble is Goff was a big part of LA making the SB. I would not call a SB appearance a failure. The Titans got a ton of draft picks but had already selected Marriota. He then failed. Titans have been solid and a playoff team, but no SB appearance and still don't have a star at QB after that trade.
  6. If I recall, the Bills beat the Colts and Ravens, or did they go on a 3 game losing streak in the playoffs? The Bills played crap teams down the stretch and got beat by the second best team in the NFL on the road with a banged up WR roup and a serillus flawed front 7. It's not the coaches that can't rush the passer. As for the rule change. I have no problem with it. Honestly they should just put a moratorium on hiring new coaches until after the SB for all teams. What is the rush?
  7. Has anyone ever found out the story behind why McKenzie has his best game of the year against Miami, the Bills' WR group was beat up, and McKenzie barely sees the field in the playoffs? Any inside scoops?
  8. The Bills and their front office doesn't over spend on anyone Sorry, I'm calling non-sense on this one. Beane has two flaws. He overspends in FA and he gives up too many draft picks moving up in the draft. Star, Murphy, Morse, Klein, Matakevich, Kroft, Gore, and Norman are just a few FAs that were grossly overpaid. The Brown and Beasley deals seemed to be market competitive deals. And despite the lack of production, at the time the deals for Jefferson, Addison, and Butler seemed ok. Hyde and Poyer were signed before Beane joined the team. They are not that far off. Losing Williams and Milano will create some holes for sure. They need to bring back Williams, get Ford healthy, let Knox continue to develop and add two pass rushers. If Williams walks they will have enough cap space to find on pass rusher in FA and then add an OT in the draft
  9. Yup. All four SuperBowls and even a bunch of the AFC playoff games the Bills super offense was stopped. What did they beat the Broncos 10-7 for one of the Championship games. Everyone remembers 51-3 and the comeback game, but there were low scoring games too. The answer isn't defense. The answer is pass rush. They already have a secondary that is good enough. They need to improve the pass rush. I don’t care one bit about stopping the run game and neither does the NFL.
  10. Can't spend money on a backup QB this year. They need all the cap space they can get. If Allen gets hurt for a prolonged period of time the season is lost anyways. Go with Fromm for 2021.
  11. Get rid of all the pre-season games. Quality of play was fine this year. Teams know 50 of the final 53 before training camp even starts and virtually every starter. Just carry a larger practice squad to fill out the bottom of the roster. The players are right. They don't need all these OTA's, camps, and preseason games. They need some but not all of them.
  12. It always is. Don't forget that when Allen wants to be highest paid QB in the league.
  13. If they draft a corner, I would like to see Wallace at Safety. He doesn't have the elite speed you need at CB so he will only be a average #2 CB. He might be an option if Hyde starts to show his age next year. I don't think Johnson(listed at 5'11" but looks smaller than that) is big enough to play safety but Wallace could. I don't think Ford got enough of a chance at RT. Williams at RT and Ford at Guard made the most sense this year. If Williams leaves I doubt they find a better option in FA than Ford at RT again. I've advocated for Edmunds to play OLB for 2 years now. He got some snaps at OLB this year. It's easy to say move to OLB, but they have no other good options at MLB. Hopefully they draft a couple of guys with size and speed and then figure it out in camp.
  14. Keep Brown on a reworked deal. Let McKenzie and Roberts walk.. That's the best move for the WR group. Go with Diggs, Beasley, Brown, Davis and the kid from Oregon State. Add a late round or UDFA WR that has some return ability and a few other street free agents for camp. Then decide to go with 5 or 6 WR depending on if they have a corner with return ability or not. I'd favor carrying 5 WR and an extra DB that can return a little.
  15. Agree. He never played well in the playoffs and threw a ton of interceptions. Will be an interesting vote to follow.
  16. There are plenty of people around here that defend Bills trading Peters. Yes it is true he had recently signed a deal but it was clear to everyone he was special. He deserved to be treated special and given a new contract. You break the rules for special talent and he was. He was a top 3 LT in the league and he was not paid commensurate with his play.
  17. You haven’t been watching the Bills tight ends for the last 60 years. He is the most athletic TE the team has ever had. He will never be more than just a competent blocker, but he can be an elite pass catching threat.
  18. Bad contract but he produced when he played. Seemed to be in McD dog house. Gore was crap after game 4 in 2019 and should have been the inactive RB.
  19. The precedent is set. Star QB gets an extension after 3rd year. Both sides will want a deal done to avoid Dallas/Dak current situation. Agree and you will have guys like Hughes, Hyde, Poyer, Star and Morse being let go in 2022 and beyond as they age. This offseason is all about the two lines and a second TE. In terms of player evaluation, 2020 was all eyes on Allen. In 2021 it is all about Edmunds and Knox. If they don't get better Beane will have two major holes to fill in 2022.
  20. I stand corrected. I forgot he was an alternate last year. There is also a designation for playing greater than 75% of defensive snaps too. I’m sure he reached that mark so not sure which is greater the transition tag amount or the formula for percent of snaps played.
  21. You are mostly correct. Yes they need to make a decision by May 3rd for both Allen and Edmunds. As you said it makes the fourth and 5th year fully guaranteed before it was just an injury protection. However because Edmunds was named to two ProBowl appearances he gets awarded the franchise tag amount. Too bad the Bills can’t appeal his ProBowl nod for this year. What a joke.
  22. They don’t have a choice. That’s how all first round extensions must be done. They will sign him to an extension over the summer or just before the season starts.
