A true #2 or potential #1 WR is most pressing need. Honestly I,would prefer trading the first round pick for an established guy just as they did with Diggs if one is available. S, Edge, C, DT and another WR in no particular order. Draft best punter in the 5th or 6th round. Before the season I would have said OT. But now I think Brown is fine at RT. They can get by with Dawkins for another year at LT. I'd be ok with an OT in top four rounds only if they fill some other holes on defense in free agency

Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's not true. Some organizations have the HC report to the GM or Pressient of Operations or whatever title they have. -
Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Shakir was wide open in the endzone. If they were playing the end-zone they weren't doing a good job of it. 2nd and 9 to the endzone was fine. I would have called a different play but to go up 4 with less than 2 min to play you take it when you can. 3rd and 9 has to be a short pass that gives them the option of getting a first down on 4th down or kicking a short FG. You won't be shocked at the stupidity of his answers. You will be shocked at the media finally asking some decent questions. -
Beane & McDermott end of season press conferences
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
1. I thought the media asked decent questions for a change to both guys 2. McD was quite defensive at the start bragging about the division titles and 10 win seasons and then saying injuries are not the excuse while of course implying they are the excuse.. He knows he is in the hot seat next year 3. Winner's mindset BS. I love how the final reporter called him out on that and asked that's fine but how does that translate onto the field? Brilliant on her part!!! Of course he had no answer because it is all BS 4. I think for the first time a reporter asked Beane if he could fire McD and now we all know what we excepted only Terry can pull that trigger. 5. Beane basically said McD gets what he wants - the example cited as deferring to McD if he really wanted to be the DC again I know I am a broken record. But McD is a barley capable DC with a superstar QB that wins despite his HC. If you think Diggs should go and Hyde should stay, you need to take a moment and really reflect on what you are seeing on the field. As for McD we are in lock step agreement! -

Falcons request interview with Joe Brady for HC job
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kind of ***** he was interviewing even virtually on a short week to get ready to play. NFL should just put a moratorium on coaching hires until after the SuperBowl. Just like the players there should be a league year start date for coaching hires. -
Diggs is a superstar and the only player willing to call out this fraud of a headcoach. I love Diggs! He was right about Dorsey and McD tried to make him look bad in the media. Diggs is the only guy who won't talk the company line process and culture BS. You saw Diggs on the sideline talking up Allen in multiple games down the stretch. Did Diggs throw his QB under the bus when he missed him deep multiple times late in the season and in the Pittsburgh game? No! Yeah he dropped a few in the playoffs but he made more plays than he missed. We want more guys like Diggs not less!!!

I can't wait until dabolls system is gone for good!!!!
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
OP, Wait first you said Daboll system worked for Tom Brady and then you said it relies on the QB to run. I dont recall Tom Brady running the ball. Which is it? -
Some core backups like Dodson, Edwards, Van Demark and Isabella will return as well. Only free agent I would offer a contract to is Jones The rest can go and hopefully turn into a comp pick Draft: WR Edge S C WR OT DT P

Harbaugh to Bills (Would it work?)
Ethan in Cleveland replied to M. Wrotto's topic in The Stadium Wall
I called for Harbaugh after 13 seconds when I was in Portland. Nice of you all to jump on the bandwagon. -
Simply put we were just too hurt…
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BillMafia716ix's topic in The Stadium Wall
Defense got old Guys like Miller, Epenesa and Settle suck and Rousseau has not developed Oline is much improved. Kudos Beane on that one Run game is better WR's are for sh!t Allen remains our only hope. Without superhuman Allen Bills lose by 20 at home to a weak Chiefs team. Beane tried and whiffed at improving the WR group. He picked a decent TE but the wrong one and a very good OG. He trusted Spencer Brown would play better and we were all wrong that he would not. Bernard played better than almost all thought he would. In the end all window dressing for the biggest issue We were outcoached time and time again. Pats, Broncos, Eagles, Chiefs all losses attributable to McD's defense getting savaged. They still have Allen and a lot of good pieces. The last two drafts have produced some nice players. A few strategic cap moves, get a better #2 WR day 1 of the draft, let Kincaid continue to develop, and replace some age on defense with youth and speed. And Miller might be better next season fully healthy. Tell McD it is SuperBowl or bust. -
Kind of shocked Morse wants to come back. I'm fine with him for one more year. Hyde needs to retire Gabe needs to sign elsewhere and net us a comp pick- maybe 5th round? White needs a pay cut or just cut Poyer I bring back for one more year If Morse is back, then Bates needs to take a pay cut or just cut him. They should draft a center to develop in the mid rounds even if Morse returns Cut or let walk in no order: Floyd Phillips Epenesa Settle Murray Sherfield and Hardy Gilliam Matakevich Hamlin Martin Lewis Worth bringing back : Jones Dodson Neal Rapp Isabella Edwards Van Demark and Johnson Douglas should get an extension especially if they cut White. Am I missing anyone?

Considering this season as a whole…
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Don Otreply's topic in The Stadium Wall
The season was a disaster and not enjoyable to watch literally from the first quarter of the season. Watching our best players get hurt with catastrophic injuries just sucks the life out of watching the team. They were a few plays away from not even making the playoffs. Epic meltdowns by the defense against bad teams. Josh playing like garbage in week 1 and then leading the league in turnovers. He fumbled again yesterday. McD benching the starting RB for a fumble like this is junior high school. Losing on the only missed FG against us because we had 12 men on the field. Worst of all there were enough injuries and Allen played well enough down the stretch that McD isn't going to get fired. -
Thank you for your service. Nice player. Nothing bad to say. Hope you get a nice pay day and play for several more years. Let someone else pay you. Get the comp pick

KC and the Run Blitz
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
They did. They actually threw a couple times out of the extra linemen formation. It's actually quite amazing They ran as well as they did straight at them. They really didn't have much success running wide all game that I recall. The issue with the run blitz is if you get it blocked up you can spring a really long run as there is no last line of defense from the secondary. It's a gamble. Chiefs won the gamble. Biggest issue offensively in the game was no WR made an impact and there were 3 dropped long balls. -
We had most of those guys against Denver, Philadelphia, and the Pats. His defense craps the bed more often than not. Josh is amazing more often than not. Josh playing bad (Jets) and McD's defense playing well against an elite QB(Mahomes regular season, Jackson playoffs) are the anomalies not the norm.

McDermott - Excuses, Valid but concerning
Ethan in Cleveland replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
His defense collapses in almost every difficult moment dating back to the Texans. Nice guy. It's time to move on. Harbaugh or Belichick wins multiple SuperBowls with Allen in the next 4 years.- 391 replies

If a TD only gets you up by less than 3 points yes that is crazy to go for the TD there. If a TD puts you up by 4 or more you score whenever you can. Again if you don't want to score there don't call a play that is designed to be a TD. Stopping at the 2 yard line to kick a game winning FG is not the same as being down 3. A FG only gets you to OT. You need a TD. Yes in a perfect world you keep milking the clock. And if they had gotten four or five yards on first down you probably run it again. But it was second and 9 and they ran a play that worked. A TD pass there and Allen walks off the field again with the lead.

How do you absolve Brady and blame Josh for the pass to Shakir. That play is specifically drawn up to be a TD pass. Josh read it correctly. He is hit as he throws the ball. If he throws to Diggs and we settle for a FG and OT loss everyone is ripping Josh for not throwing to a wide open Shakir in the endzone. I'm fine with blaming Josh on the 3rd down throw away. He had underneath options that would have made the FG close or maybe would have gotten a first down. No idea what he was seeing or doing on 3rd down. That was hero ball Josh that failed.

Maybe the most incredible stat of the night
Ethan in Cleveland replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Reid is better than McDermott There were no injuries on the DL and they gutted us in the run game. How do you draft a LB in the third round and he's not able to play? Klein was terrible all game long and yet a young athletic LB only rarely saw the field. Hate McDermott. He's ruined the best years of Allen. -
The Million-Dollar Question Sticking in My Mind
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills invested in a TE who developed much faster than usual but they still didn't even draft the best one. LaPorta looks like an all-pro already. Torrence is a solid pick Brown is starting to look like a solid RT. Knox sadly has regressed terribly. Had really high hopes for him but he's not much of a factor in the offense. Davis just didn't get any better. They took a chance on a couple cast off WRs. They need to draft a WR in the first round this year with size and hands. Shakir is a baller. Let him play the slot and go get a speed guy with size for the outside. And Cook learn to catch. They set up that angle route all year and it was a beautiful call for a walk in TD with a perfectly delivered ball. Other NFL teams have players that make amazing catches. Our pass catchers can't even make routine one. -
He's the same in the playoffs as he is in the regular season. His defense gets shredded by any good QB. Josh bails him out most of the time. His defense pads stats against garbage teams and QBs. No sacks and almost no pressure on Mahomes. One gift fumble. Guys running wide open all game. Only reason KC got 6 points on first drives was because Mahomes missed wide open guys in the endzone. If McD stays which he probably will our only hope is Beane takes more control and uses the draft and free agency on the offense.

Pick 3 Current Bills You Would Pick To Start A Team With
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Bills!Win!'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen, Kincaid, Torrence Age and cost matter when starting a new team. I considered Brown as he quietly has turned into a solid RT.
