  1. Speaking of getting our opponent on home turf... 🤔 Since you seem to be good at this sort of thing, would you consider whipping up a chart showing head coach, OC, and DC names over the same period of time? I could look each season up but I'm lazy. I wonder if Indy did a lot of coordinator change during that time---or none! I assume it was all Tony Dungy the whole time as HC too. The similarities really are remarkable. Thing is, the one doesn't have much to do with the other.
  2. This is an interesting and well thought out take, likely hated by most people here. So here's a question for you, but I think I know the answer. Would you swap Josh Allen straight up for Joe Burrow this offseason, if you could?
  3. This entire post is the best thing I've read here today/tonight. Having a defensive coordinator masquerading as your head coach is always going to be a problem, however. He is ALWAYS going to be D first. It's just how he thinks and what's in his blood. You'll notice all other teams playing this weekend are coached by offensive guys!
  4. Definitely don't want Edmunds signed, nor do we have the money for that. I think that will be a defining moment with this administration. If they are as smart as I think, Edmunds is gone. Having said that, Beane screwed up the Knox deal, big time.
  5. I have always thought that McDermott is actually superior to Beane on the flow chart. That's not totally unusual for NFL teams; it would be pretty unheard of in the NHL, but that's a different culture. But I have never read anything discussing this in definite terms.
  6. It's nuts to suggest the whole game would have been different if Allen had hit that early pass to Diggs. That's 1 play. If he had, it would have been a TD. He overthrew him and that was that. Has no impact on the game as a whole. Josh was not good today. He was confused. He wasn't finding targets to throw to. I'm not sure why, as we can't see downfield on TV.
  7. I'm all in favor of addressing the O line, after we have secured our #2 WR. Unless they want to get that through free agency. The DL has hogged enough of our draft picks with this administration. They are terrible at it. Changes need to be made, but they don't get big draft capital to do it.
  8. In that case, you should be the happiest man in America. Dallas manages to be on national TV just about every week of the season, and they go to the obligatory shot of the old man up in the box about 50 times a game.
  9. Aren't you in Australia in the middle of summer? 🤔 Eagles have been my pick to play us (oops) in the SB all year long. They are probably the best all around team in the NFL this year.
  10. This thread (and many like it) are started by the kool aid drinkers who are all GONE RIGHT NOW because they always jump ship when things don't go well. He is not elite; he is probably an easy upgrade but that won't happen b/c he was hand picked by this administration and moving on from him amounts to an admission of failure.
  11. This sounds crazy to me. Check out our record over the last 3 years. We don't need, and will not have, a "Rebuild." We'll have plenty of tweaks but all teams do from year to year. The "Super Bowl Era Bills" were nothing close to the same rosters year to year to year. There will be changes and some changes need to be made. I'm in favor of replacing either or both coordinators; I think both are easy upgrades...but we probably won't.
  12. Honestly, these 2 teams were so mismatched today, I don't think something like that would have altered the outcome of the game. He also just flat out drops balls that hit him in the hands.
  13. Big fan, huh? You sound like my brother in law. If the team is great and on TV, he might watch for a few minutes. If we are bad, he'll go entire seasons without knowing a thing about the team. He's a casual fan. Nothing wrong with that, but some of us give a crap more about this team.
  14. I'm from the T of T too! The fact that we could have won those games is what made them worse...much worse...than today. We got our butts handed to us today. This one hurts, no doubt, but nothing CLOSE to 13 seconds!
  15. They certainly shouldn't need to overhaul the D line. They have put an awful lot of draft capital into that thing! And it's terrible.... Lots of draft misses all over the roster. It's the one knock on Beane I can think of. Oh, the Knox deal was a mistake too.
  16. I said this last year after the 13 seconds game, and even the year before that! The day WILL COME when Pegula will have to ask if McD is good enough. It wasn't going to come 2 years ago, not last year, and it won't come THIS year either....but it will come. I.E., if the SB doesn't materialize, Pegula will have to decide if what McD brings to the franchise is good enough, or if he wants to win it all. Winning franchises sometimes fire head coaches (in all sports) after WINNING SEASONS, if goals aren't met. I don't think making it to the playoffs consistently will be enough, indefinitely. Of course (as I have said for years now) if McD DOES put it together and wins a SB before he is fired, he'll here forever. And I mean for his entire career.
  17. TO suggest this game had a damned thing to do with Von's absence is absolutely ridiculous. The guy doesn't play many snaps anyway, and when he does, he is almost always nicely neutralized by the opposing right tackle, in a one-on-one battle that doesn't open anything else up for other DLmen. Sure, he'll do something great once in the game, and then everyone says "Oh, there's Miller; he's a great player!" He's way overrated at this stage in his career; all big named edge rushers are over-rated. They don't consistently do enough that directly results in WINS. Keep Von, I'll take a stud Diggs-type #2 WR this off-season, please. We scored 10 points today! Against a great QB and great offense with maybe the best WR corps in the league. That ain't gonna get it done!
  18. Why not? I think he proved, over a 17 game season and post-season that his performance can be improved upon. There has to be someone out there better. Maybe one of the people being fired this year could replace him, including HCs?
  19. How in the world could the tank be on "E" for a game of this magnitude? Come on man. This is football. It's about physicality and being out performed. The Bengals owned us today. It has nothing to do with emotions or being flat. It has to do with being whipped at the game of football. The question which has to be answered is why? Why did we get killed? Just a bad matchup? Do we need to alter our roster to better jibe with the Bengals? Would they beat us like this 4 out of 5 times? Could be beat them just as badly on another day? What flaws does this expose about the franchise going forward, generally, if any? I feel like a number of good teams on their game in the playoffs were destined to whip us this year, because we haven't been playing good enough football for about 8 or 9 games now. The team that ended up doing it was the Bengals. With Tua and a healthy squad, it would probably have been Miami last week. It could have been Philly or San Fran in the big dance (both those teams right now would destroy us), it could also have been KC. Next year another team or 2 might joint that list. We need to get better and built around performance in the playoffs. And it should be assumed the weather will be crap, for what that's worth.
  20. That's not really true though. He looked great when we annihilated Tennessee early in the year, and there was a game a few weeks ago when he put the whole damned team on his back. I honestly can't remember which one right now! But has he had a general regression this year on aggregate? YES! Is that because of the new OC? Can that be improved next year with a new OC? Or more time with Dorsey? I think he misses a lot of open receivers, but it's hard to tell watching on TV.
  21. Ironically, we get our butts kicked by Cincinnati, who had to fire a VERY successful head coach to get where they are now. Do we have another:
  22. Diggs is known to be feisty and he has that WR prima donna thing in him. He's mad that we played like crap and our season ended in this way. I agree this is not the right way to behave, but it just means he really gives a darn, which I LOVE.
  23. I have already started a thread and the darting out of the locker room thing was referenced in it.
  24. Well his regular season numbers have been fantastic with the Bills! Has he publicly stated that he's all about a ring at this point or something like that? He should be here next year. The thing is, we need a Diggs #2; it's our biggest need IMO; I've been saying that all year. And then we need to completely re-vamp the OL.
  25. Well now that I've actually seen this incident, it does look like Josh is ignoring Diggs, b/c the coach sitting next to him heard him clearly enough to look up at him twice, and Josh seems to have chosen to just ignore him. Maybe he's thinking "Oh this is just Stephon being Stephon, he'll calm down in a bit." These things happen between teammates from time to time in all sports. I wouldn't put much into this. It is kind of interesting though; I missed it the whole thing live! Too much typing in the game thread!
