  1. Not sure about that, and besides, it was one of the greatest goals I've ever seen. I don't hold it against UPL; I thought he played a pretty solid game overall and looked comfortable in the crease.
  2. Who knew? We just need more "balls" and "gritty attitude." Here I was thinking we just needed Josh to hit open receivers a few more times than he already does. Hmmmmm. 🤔
  3. This looks and smells like another rationalization thread. Bills fans are absolute professionals at rationalizing losses. I mean, we are world class.
  4. It's an interesting observation, but Josh's "complaint" behavior accounts for .0000000000001% of the reasons why we lose football games, so in that sense, who cares.
  5. When I was younger, multiple days to get over a loss. Now, at age 50, I'm usually pretty good by 6pm or so, assuming we played at 1:00pm. Important losses still bother me, but it doesn't linger anymore. I just don't care as much as I used to.
  6. Don't compare McDermott to past Bills coaches over the last 20 years. That doesn't mean anything, other than how broken this franchise was. Compare him to the best coaches the league has seen over the last 20 years, that's the true reference point. Is he terrible? No. Is he great? No. Can he beat the best when the most is on the line? Probably not! Can he be replaced with a new regime that is just as good and even better? Who knows!
  7. I continue to be amazed at the number of Bills fans who would really prefer a dome. For me, watching football indoors is just weird and wrong. I've always hated it. Insofar as the WNY economy could maybe get a boost from a dome (if built downtown), well, that's another story. I would support one for general economic WNY improvement, but not as a place to watch football games!
  8. I look forward to the NE game in Foxboro. Assuming "normal" weather. Our offense should be able to put up points NE can't match.
  9. Me too. If only he were our coach! We'd probably have a few rings by now.
  10. I didn't think anyone preferred American Spirits! Weren't they just cheaper than the others? I always smoked Camel lights, but I would smoke other brands as well. When smoking (for years!) I always noticed that the glands on my throat were perpetually inflamed and sore, like I had a bad cold or flu. They were just perpetually bothered. When I quit, that all went away. It's funny what you grow accustomed to with enough habit.
  11. UPL is really not ready to play at the NHL level, but we are in rough shape right now. Will be interesting to see how he does.
  12. Pervert! 🤫
  13. He'll be throwing like crazy. And hopefully so will we.
  14. I'm much more concerned with the pass blocking aspect to things. When Josh doesn't get enough protection, he panics and struggles to find receivers. That gives rise to us having trouble moving the ball or getting first downs, and the entire game spirals out of control from that point forward. When Josh is well protected, he stands in the pocket and makes decisive throws downfield, we move the ball, we score touchdowns, and we win games. We have beaten up on the teams that don't give our OL trouble, and looked bad against strong front 7 units. I'm all in favor of upgrading our RBs, as long as we don't spend much doing it.
  15. It's ridiculous to suggest Sullivan was "disrespectful" or whatever. In NYC, Jerry is a dime a dozen; they are all at least as confrontational as he is. In Buffalo, it stands out, b/c WNY is a very go along to get along type of place and a 1 horse town. But Jerry isn't willing to go podunk just b/c he is working in WNY. Good on him.
  16. Anything can happen in the playoffs. The season is erased, and everyone starts out 0-0 and the rules are the same for everyone: win or your season is over. If the Bills find themselves at the right time or get on a hot streak of any kind, we could end up in the AFC championship game again, or beyond. BUT the time for performing is getting close. We can pass the buck one more week against Tampa, but that's it. At some point we have to turn the corner and get into that winning groove.
  17. Huh? Suggesting Allen does anything Mahomes does not is absurd.
  18. If we make the playoffs as the #7 seed, we will be the most feared 7 seed in history. No one is going to want to match up against us in a single game, winner-take-all.
  19. When our passing game isn't good enough, it doesn't mean "run more." It means "learn to pass better." I have wanted an elite Kelce type TE for a while for this reason. I hoped Knox could be the guy. I still say improve the OL, however, b/c investment there makes Josh Allen a better QB, and that directly plays into what we do best.
  20. The overall talent level of the team is not nearly as bad as people think in this thread. It's still good enough to do some serious damage in the playoffs, just as it did last year. The question is whether or not we peak and get some good coaching at the right time. We aren't that far away.
  21. Being a pass first team should never be some type of penalty. It doesn't matter if a given defense knows that's what you'll do, if your execution is up to snuff. We have struggled all year, against opponents of all skill types, when Josh has trouble finding receivers to the throw ball to, and takes too much time in the pocket. A large part of that is major breakdown in pass protection along the offensive line, creating more of a distraction than Josh can handle. When our offensive line can handle an opposing defensive front 7, Josh almost always has a great day and we win by 30 or whatever...even though those defense knew what was coming. Execution is what is always important, and Josh has to find people quickly and throw the ball accurately to them. The entire game comes down to that, over and over and over again . As I have said elsewhere, it might be b/c our fat and flabby OL can't handle the pace. Is their cardio work up to snuff?
  22. Some of us were talking/warning of this all week long! Others were talking as though the crap weather would somehow benefit the Bills b/c we "live in it" or some such. Passing wins in football now. The weather made it hard to pass, so much so that one team didn't even try! That's not much of a football game; it was like a weird experiment. The good news is the Bills can easily beat the Patriots in the rematch, given normal cold weather.
  23. Josh don'ts have to be "lights out" for our passing offense to work. A few extra passes completed last night and we win the game, despite looking bad for large stretches of it. We do need to stick with what works---that's passing. That's what we are built for and that's how the Super Bowl will be won this year. We can win it throwing like crazy or it will be won by someone else throwing like crazy. If you think a run team is going to win, you're nuts.
  24. McDermott is talking about "running and stopping the run" and similar stupid football jock crap. If we abandon what we do best, and do NOT pass like crazy, Tampa will kill us. We need to get back to a pass-heavy offense the rest of the year. When we play teams like the Jets or Panthers, we'll win by 20-35 points. And it's the only shot we have at beating a team like Tampa. Stick to your guns Daboll!
