  1. ^ That is it in a nutshell. Were to live? What's "good" or "bad" ???? The correct answer is it all depends, and it all depends on the individual. All you can do is isolate a variable or 2 that you find MOST important, and then try to live in an area where those variables are in the "pro" column and not the "con" column. Another thing, nowhere is perfect and everywhere has downsides of all kinds. Also, not everyone is equally impacted by weather. Some people don't mind it or flat out love the winters in Buffalo. It all depends on the person.
  2. A lot of people seem to think this game is crucial to our playoff odds, overall. It's not. Play with the calculators before you post! (I don't mean you, Brianmoorman4jesus!)
  3. He's already extended his NFL career as long as he could have hoped for. Now he'll ride on the bench of years to come, and millions and millions of dollars. He'll retire very wealthy, so good for him. His playoff game against Jacksonville was the worst QB'd playoff game I've ever seen (and that goes for both teams!) Bortles was terrible too. That was a very winnable game for us, if we had an ounce of offense.
  4. But maybe also Josh TDs! Assuming we stick to our guns, get good coaching, and play our game. If we come out "trying to prove something" and artificially sticking to a failing run game, we are DEAD MEAT.
  5. Must have been a very interesting time to be spending all that time right next to the gorge, where you could see what was going on with the falls. After I graduated undergrad, I worked for about a year as an administrator at Niagara University. I worked in Alumni Hall. I will never forget one day, walking to the office early in the morning, in winter. I was approaching the Hall from my parking spot to the east of campus. As I got near the gorge and the door to go in, what must have been a 50 MPH + wind gust blew off the gorge, straight at me, and stopped me from walking forward. It was probably in the 20s to begin with that morning, and with the wind gust, it felt like Satan was trying to hug me. For a few seconds, I think that was as cold as I have ever been! It was just absurd how cold and windy it was. That would have been some time in winter of 1993-1994. Still remember it vividly.
  6. Only in Missouri could this woman have convinced her "boyfriends" that she was 22 years old. Well, maybe also in Arkansas, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, FL, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas... OK. This could have happened anywhere in this country.
  7. Math! That's why. The point is we can lose to Tampa and still make the playoffs easily. This assumes losing is a foregone conclusion, which most here think it is. I actually think we have a good shot to win, if we get good coaching and we do our thing (air it out). Of course winning would be better; it always is.
  8. As a native WNYer who has now lived in SE FL for like 8 years, (and lots of other places too) I can't fathom anyone seriously considering a move BACK to WNY. It's more like 6 months of "bad weather" depending on how you define bad. Down here, every day is summer. Not that it's perfect mind you! I have tons of complaints about south FL living... But no way could I endure the weather in a climate like WNY again. No way. I guess it depends on the individual. Some people are much more sensitive to weather/climate/gray sky than others are! You're in NOVA right? FL is no different than the DC area in terms of raw heat and humidity. It's just the season for that lasts a month or 2 longer down here in FL. DC/NOVA is a still swamp though. FL definitely has 4 seasons and the weather changes here with the calendar. It's just that the changes are more subtle than some other areas. Starting about a month ago, including now, an into April, it's glorious down here. Best month of the year, for me, is March.
  9. I'll say Knox. He has to have a bounce-back game. If we are going to have a shot, we need to get the passing game flying high with all the receivers getting involved. Diggs for sure, but he'll need help from Knox, Beasley, and everyone else.
  10. I watched the entire game and enjoyed the comeback. When Claypool did that posing/pointing crap, I honestly couldn't believe it. Good on TRAI TURNER for running up to him, interrupting his celebration, and grabbing for the ball to try and keep things moving along. This play is a little reminder just how F-ING STUPID your average NFL athlete is, IMO. There are reasons why the coaching staffs across the league do all this dumb stuff, use props at meetings, etc., to try and get the attention of their own players. You have to treat a % of these guys as though they are children. Some of those holes were beyond gigantic. Like he had 5 body widths to maneuver before being touched by the nearest player. Our RBs look bad b/c our run blocking is atrocious.
  11. If Josh hits a few more passes than he did against the Patriots, no one is talking about "getting the offense in balance"!!!! I expect our first draft pick to go toward an OL and that we might even grab 2 more in free agency or even a trade. Beane can be creative. We don't need a great OL; we just need one that is acceptable! Easily fixable in one off-season, though 2 is better. Our Josh window is still WIDE OPEN.
  12. Of course we need to throw like crazy! Will we? I hope so. If these guys start going on a desperate crusade to prove we are "tough" and can "build a run game" our season is already over! Disagree. It's been hard sledding THIS week b/c almost everyone here felt we would beat the Patriots one way or the other, especially at home. But very few expect us to beat Tampa, and a loss there does very little to our playoff hopes at large (if people are doing their homework and know what's going on). I think next week will be about the same or better than this week. I've enjoyed it to be honest; so many kool aid drinkers took the entire week off this week. It's been nice!
  13. I've been thinking a lot about him lately; we need another guy just like him now....just as badly as we needed him when he joined the team way back when. Remember Jeff Wright? Way too small.
  14. The latest I can find is that this "stems from a medical issue" so it's far from clear exactly what happened, but that eliminates things like car crash, drugs, and suicide IMO, making everyone's guesses above wrong. "Preliminary information is that his death stems from a medical issue, and our investigators currently have no reason to believe otherwise," said Officer Tim Lupo, public information officer for the police department in Roswell, Georgia. Of course, this assumes the reporting is sound and that the PIO is accurate with what he's telling the press.
  15. All of a sudden it's all about "run", "balance" and "dome" with the fanbase. I swear to God this fanbase has a knowledge base and memory usually about 1 game long. When we were the best offense in the NFL last year, built just as we are now, I don't recall thinking we are "out of balance" or that we needed better running backs. These old school die hard football guys aren't going to let this "run the ball" crap go away, are they?
  16. Haven't read the article but every time someone from outside WNY talks about "The hard working people of WNY" or similar crap, it's effectively a put down to the area. It's also a gross generalization that probably isn't even accurate anymore. The blue collar folks who made Buffalo what it used to be, started leaving 50 years ago in pursuit of jobs. Not too many are left now.
  17. ...bunch of perverts. 🤫
  18. Yeah but we seemed to fair OK in Miami this year, and it was a lot hotter and humid for that game than it's gong to be in Tampa on Sunday. I live in SE FL and the weather is glorious right now; cool and no humidity. 80 seems high to me for game time; I bet its more in the mid '70s but who knows.
  19. I think he'll be here next year in that last year. I would like to believe Beane is shrewd enough not to offer him a new K, but I don't know.
  20. True, but the weather can be quite a bit different, and better than Buffalo, even in a place like Baltimore. Or Nashville. Or KC! Foxboro? Not so much.
  21. It all starts with the coach.
  22. Look at those numbers! It's amazing.
