Diggs - bonus for 6 more catches - extension ?
Nextmanup replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall
Anyone who hasn't seen the K doesn't know the answer to that. Presumably it's based on the regular season. -
Even as much as a year after Josh Allen's draft, with all those heavily rated QBs going early in the first round, there was (deserved) argument over who was going to be good, bad, or the best of the lot. It's taken time (as always) but it's now pretty clear that Josh Allen was THE GUY you wanted out of that draft class, and that Cleveland, with the first overall pick, should have taken him. It's also pretty clear that ALL the others vary from horrible bust to not very good to disappointing. The best of the rest is probably Baker Mayfield and he's not really what Cleveland was hoping for. It also shows yet again how poor at player evaluation NFL teams are, despite the effort, resources, and manpower put into the endeavor. The irony is that the Bills are the ones who "got it right" and yet they arguably just got lucky. Perhaps they should be rewarded for being the ones willing to take a chance, but that's basically what they did. They took the chance on the long shot, and hit the bullseye. But that's different than somehow calculating that he was the one who would be good.

Thanks for mentioning this. I had seen it and wondered if it would be good. If I have time, I may give this a shot tonight. -
I feel like we don't really know what she looks like as there is such a difference in the photos. I think I'm voting pass.

This is true, but worse, and the deal breaker for me, is that "gummy" smile. Creeps me out. 👎

If I am home, bored, and discover a game on TV in front of me, I might watch for 10 minutes out of curiosity. Not much more than that, though.

I know all about the Tuskegee airmen. What was your point?

I've commented on this all over the place. Josh has a problem dealing with stress/pressure and as far as I know, still vomits before every game. He puts an enormous amount of pressure on himself particularly at home, to please the fans. He just wants to excel but it can become crippling. It's a documented phenomenon in other sports like hockey. Some teams just play better, smarter, more disciplined hockey on the road, where there is less pressure to please the home crowd.

I still say "RED TAILS" is the way to go. It has a construct that is consistent with the old name, it honors black veterans in a predominantly black town that is also the seat of our federal government and military with zillions of military living in the area at any moment in time, and it gives rise to having really cool logo possibilities with a P-51 mustang. It's almost perfect.

I watched 3 or 4 "Madden highlight" videos on Youtube when he died. I saw the clip referenced above in Buffalo when he is talking about food. Somehow, "beef on weck" came out as "beef on wiki" which I thought was weird. He was like "They love food in Buffalo so much this place has two types of food it's famous for. Chicken wings and something called Beef on Wiki." Back in those days, I always thought Madden had a definite NFC bias, because that was the conference he saw so much of. He always came across like the NFC was a notch above the AFC. Our 4 straight SB losses didn't help! I remember him talking one time about Reggie White and how he was clearly the best in the game, and he didn't mention Bruce Smith in the same conversation at all, which I thought was a little off. In those days, Pat Summerall and Madden were pretty widely regarded as the premier NFL broadcast crew. I was never a huge Summerall fan (too dry and boring for my taste) but I loved Madden. I think everyone did!

I picked the Raiders. I have been predicting and wanting a matchup with the Patriots, not the Raiders. But I think that's because I haven't really thought the Raiders were an option. If they were, I'd take them over the Patriots. I'm just looking for the easiest game possible. I think it's gonna be the Patriots though.

If Daboll and/or Frazier leave, who do you want to replace them?
Nextmanup replied to Buddo's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know you're joking, but for a moment there I was shot back in time, and ready to cry. Shows you how far things have come in a relatively short period of time. -
If Josh Allen's foot doesn't slip on his QB sneak on 4th down in Nashville, we almost certainly win that game. If we win that game, RIGHT NOW we are the NO. 1 Seed in the AFC. And you guys wan to tear down the entire roster so we can be "tougher" or build a dome?! Wouldn't it be easier to buy Josh a new pair of cleats? Thank God fans have zero say in what gets done.

Anyone live in Florida know any mildly affordable towns to move to?
Nextmanup replied to JaCrispy's topic in Off the Wall
Some time around the year 2001, a colleague of mine (lawyer in Washington DC) realized that the housing market was nuts and his townhouse in the Kalorama Triangle neighborhood of DC had shot way up in value. He had bought it in around $190,000 and its value at that time was like $700,000. So he and his partner sold the property, quit their jobs, and were heading off to tour the American southwest for a year or 2, living off the profit from the sale. And then they'd worry about getting back into their careers down the road. I never heard how the story ended, but I always admired the guy for going for it like that. I would never be able to do something that "risky." -
Is it the offseason already? This stuff is for March/April.

Derrick Henry likely will come back in time for playoff
Nextmanup replied to syhuang's topic in The Stadium Wall
A team winning a SB is a team statistic; has nothing to do with the RB or any one individual, including the QB. I agree the Titans aren't winning the SB this year, but Henry is still a hell of a back who has the ability to give us fits if he play and he is healthy. But just because Vrabel says he's almost ready to come back (or implies that) doesn't mean he actually is almost ready to come back. -
Bills fans looking for a "tough" team---go watch the UFC. I'll be here watching the Bills play competitively in NFL playoff games with their "soft" team... ...that can actually THROW THE F-ING BALL for the first time 30 years....and used that ability to get to the AFC Championship game last year.

Can we finally put the need for a dome stadium to rest?
Nextmanup replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
Actually, the colosseum in Rome originally had a feature called the "velarium" which was like a fabric awning that stuck out from the upper walls of the stadium. It was retractable and controlled by sailors with knowledge of ropes, lines, tackle, etc. It didn't extend very far out over the stadium, but managed to keep a huge % of the crowd in the shade, even as the sun moved through the sky during the day. Just another example of the brilliance of ancient Rome. -

How many teams (over all the years) have actually had a dome? You can't be a dome team that wins the Super Bowl if you don't play in a dome. Have you adjusted your math for this? I'm guessing no. -

I agree with you and it's why I still say the road to the Super Bowl will go through Kansas City. No way in the world Tennessee has what it takes to win a SB, or even appear in one IMO. -
Raiders CB Nate Hobbs arrested for DUI

They call it Sin City for a reason. I'd say it's going to plan.
