  1. One of my lasting images of Thurman Thomas is him calmly and almost disinterestedly handing the football or tossing it to the official after a touchdown! It was his trademark. George Carlin did a great bit talking about the language of football as juxtaposed against the language of baseball. Hilarious!
  2. Isn't this going to ruin those TV commercials that imply that Baker lives in the stadium in Cleveland? Maybe they'll make a commercial that shows him moving, with the truck backing up to the stadium. That would actually be pretty funny.
  3. I can't believe how many people have us taking a RB first or second. My God! I hope you're all way wrong!
  4. They kind of overdid it. Should have been 1 game only per year, on New Year's Day. Also, it doesn't make for great viewing. Hockey rinks don't fit in football stadiums or ballparks. They already had an outdoor game at Fenway and it was awkward trying to shoehorn the rink onto the diamond...Lots of people had terrible views. It's still cool though and they should continue it---one per year only.
  5. That's absolutely awesome! So here we are, 4 days away! Can't wait.
  6. He's a lovely skater and I thought he looked really good in that game against Toronto. Way ahead of Dahlin at that stage of his career. I'm not sure Portillo is ready for the NHL, or if the Sabres would even want him up in Buffalo, were he to leave school. Goaltending takes time and I think they might want him to get some experience down in Rochester, but I honestly don't know their plans on that.
  7. I have never had a "boneless" wing in my life. It sounds "wrong" to me. There are only a couple of good bites of meat on a wing, and getting rid of the bones makes it easier, but still wrong! Then you have the single bone people and the 2 bone people. I always loved the single bone "drumsticks" and not the 2 bone types.
  8. That is weird. A perfect game is a pretty special thing--much more special than a no hitter. Heck, hitting for the cycle is much more special than a no-hitter, but no one ever talks about those or celebrates them as much.
  9. Yes, since you bring it up!
  10. I'd move Fox up the list. He's phenomenal.
  11. These "Oh gee, look what got stuck in my anus" stories seem to be fairly common. Maybe not as common as "Look at this female teacher who screwed her 14 year old student" stories, but still pretty common. I wonder if these things are real or fake. How would a story like this be found out or reported? Do doctors go out of their way to make a personal medical matter public record? Do they call the local paper to tell them about it? Doesn't that violate their code of ethics?
  12. I haven't lived in WNY for over 20 years, but my sister and her family, mom, and MANY great old friends are still there. I have said for YEARS that if the Bills or Sabres ever win a championship, it would be IMPOSSIBLE for me not to fly up for the celebrations from FL. Would be positively epic!
  13. The big thing with "Peleton" is that they are selling you an ongoing monthly subscription fee that allows you to sort of "interact" with some sort of training program that you watch on the bike itself, to sort of coach you or motivate you to workout. I would hate something like that (the endless monthly fee) and you don't need BS like that in order to lose weight. What you need is determination and willpower. If you don't have that, the Peleton will not lose weight for you, but it will suck $$$ out of your wallet! For starters, just get out of the house and briskly walk for 1/2 hour (and not less) at a time. AT LEAST 3 days a week. Less does not count. Do it for a month or two until you grow into it and it becomes easy for you. Then it's time to step it up again to something harder.
  14. Being limited to $50 is going to greatly limit your choices if you want something nice and/or impressive. But it's the thought that counts with these things. In that under $50 sector, I recommend Woodford Reserve. https://www.calvertwoodley.com/spirits/Woodford-Reserve-Kentucky-Straight-Bourbon-Whiskey-Distiller-s-Select-w63311307a
  15. I was born and raised in WNY, and am first and foremost a Bills/Sabres fan for life. But I was also raised a Red Sox fan, which was convenient as we never had a MLB team in Buffalo. So yes, I've seen both extremes. The feeling that we are cursed and can never win, followed by the realization that yes we can win. I've mentioned this before in similar threads, but I was forever changed as a Red Sox fan in 2004 with that first World Series victory (in modern times!). It is now IMPOSSIBLE for me to get upset or frustrated over the Sox. I'm at 100% at peace with the whole thing, as we (Red Sox) got our victory (and then a bunch more) and no one is ever taking it away. If/when the Bills win a Super Bowl, a LOT of Bills fans will be changed forever. It won't be "life or death" anymore, and you won't be nearly as emotionally involved in the team. It's good and bad.
  16. If they really did keep 2 sets of books, and the investigation is going full tilt boogey, his goose is finally cooked! Could be the best thing that ever happened to Redskins fans!
  17. Watson gets no respect at this board; I think he's quite a good QB. He's in no way better than Josh Allen though! Nor is Burrow or Herbert, at least yet. Brady has done enough to be ranked No. 1, almost as an honorary title, until he retires. Rodgers is 2 (or vice versa). But no, you wouldn't trade Allen for either of them NOW, when you consider the age differential!
  18. Arm strength is not all about launching the ball 60 yards down the field. I don't think most fans have an appreciation for HOW LONG OF A THROW a pass is that goes 7 yards downfield, but goes close to the width of the field, or from one hash mark to the other. There is a lot of open space out there on an NFL football field! Russel Wilson and especially Drew Brees are absolutely outstanding QBs! I'd put Brees right up there with Mahomes or Allen, he just came earlier. He was an exceptional talent. Maybe not the runner, but who cares if you can throw the ball like Drew Brees. Brady is clearly the best of all time--he couldn't run for crap. Neither could Jim Kelly.
  19. The Houston comeback game is available (and has been for quite some time) on Youtube, in its entirety.
  20. I think Bills fans these days forget that Bruce was a jerk and PITA very early in his career. A very good friend of mine once literally bounced him out of the then well known "Mickey Rats" bar, as he was a drunken ass making a fool of himself. That was very early in his career. In Bruce's defense, he really matured at a certain point in time and that stuff went away forever, as far as I know. I can't recall an interview in more recent times where he was not calm, in control, and seemingly totally at peace with himself. He's also kept himself in absolutely GREAT shape. OJ's penchant for killing his ex-wives and their boyfriends has absolutely nothing to do with his NFL playing career. He is absolutely the best Bill of all time. I would put Bruce at No. 2.
  21. I am someone who values a solid enforcer, at least in hockey. I have purchased and made many NHL fight tapes over the years. I would not mind if we somehow got a tough guy on defense, as long as he can play really well. I was greatly disappointed in the team's response on the field when Gronk tried to kill Tre. But not withstanding the aforementioned, the notion of acquiring an "enforcer" in the NFL, in the year 2022, seems utterly insane and completely out of touch with reality. 😂
  22. This is the first season I feel like I really remember well. I was very familiar with that entire roster and still remember the names. I was 9 then.
  23. The third one pictured, Monica Gauer, looks more than a little bit inbred. It's tough to see this stuff. There's so many people out there who need help one way or the other.
  24. Glad to hear this.
