  1. thats because he pretty much IS a 19 year old. He will improve as he plays more. My guess is the shoulder is much worse than we know and he cannot punch. but they need him in coverage and to call the defense, so.. there it is.. Tyrol Dodson is the alternative. yikes.
  2. I trust the process. It is ongoing. It is a 16 game season. It's a good roster. They'll be fine. They stayed with the Chiefs (until almost grabbing the game at the end on the near-turnover) using one of the most unorthodox (and, quite frankly, fairly imaginative) defensive game plans I've ever seen (no more than 6 in the box every play, eliminate an electrifying passing game and force them into a run-only offense and create turnovers). Horrible for the average Bills fan to watch (who expects the D to align to down and distance every down) but had the offense had played up to par (they did not) and they could have gotten a lead, KC would have had to throw the ball a bit into 7 man coverage as time ran down. It almost worked, but for whatever reason, Josh and offense weren't very effective all night-- that was the problem. The defense actually did their job reasonably well (other than not turning over KC's running backs a couple times, which I am sure they were told to do) , given the game plan. The offense stunk. I think it was a pretty good defensive game plan compromise against a passing offense that otherwise would have in all likelihood lit them up. Trust it.
  3. Lawrence may do the exact same thing.
  4. hmm .. .. i like it. A lot like Favre when he started out. Yes. Favre was so raw. Yes. but Favre got crazy accurate over time. Josh is getting there. When you can do what Josh can do physically, you really want to stick with this and see where it goes. He wants to get better so badly. the coaches will straighten him out. My bigger concern is that not many plays called have been very effective the past couple weeks. Looked to me like Josh had nowhere to go with the ball most passing plays. is that on him? don't think so... has the league figured out what Daboll is doing? Josh/Daboll has definately hit a flat spot. Need Feliciano and Spain back.
  5. you will be eating crow. Tua is the real deal. They are setting up for next season. Their team is pretty good and the kid won't get beat up bc you can't catch him. His accuracy is unbelievable. He will be better than Josh for sure, and I think Josh is really good.
  6. Completely agree. All the Star haters probably wish he was back taking up two guys every play like he was last year. Might be 10-15 guys like that in the league. Plus Shaq got so much bigger and stronger against the run and he's gone/. It's a lighter faster defense now, but it will be tough against the better coaches and QBs.
  7. Cowboys had their window a 2-3 years ago when they were loaded and blew it. Now they will suffer for a couple seasons, but be on national TV like 18 times.
  8. With the Covid risk of losing players, I think rosters are going to be pretty much what they are at this point; moreso than any other season. If I was a GM, I would be hanging onto to the players I know who are testing negative consistently. Getting through the season is very important and will be more important as the weather changes and risk of positive tests go up. Bills are having the injury issues they did not have last year. And they are playing a schedule with a lot more good/great QBs, so this will be as rough as many predicted. No 12-4 this year. going 6-4 and winning 10 this year will be a major accomplishment. Frankly, I think 9-7 wins the Division, given the tough schedule for the AFC East. Hell, we haven't even played Seattle (loss), SanFran (?) , Arizona (no way this D contains Murray) ... the path to the Division leads straight through the Pats. Need to win both of those.
  9. He never should have been in that conversation in the first place after 4 games. who put him there? the media. And many on this board fell for it. They're just creating content for football shows. Just go beat the Jets on Sunday. Chiefs and Titans are loaded and the best of the AFC. We'll see them later. Now go win a couple football games against Division opponents. It's a long season. We are only a few games in.
  10. I thought the defensive strategy was pretty sound; gave up only 26 points to a team that would shredded them for 46 had they played press with 8 in the box due to lack of pass rush. the problem was the offense could not score , simple as that. Spags made a mess out of Josh's head. All good, Titans and Chiefs are the class of the AFC now and it showed.
  11. correct. and still...., we strip that ball a half second earlier and they still could have won the game, and the rope a dope strategy would have succeeded. amazing game the NFL.
  12. Beane is so friggin smart. He saw this and is hedging his bets. so smart
  13. they're all gonna have a field day. Hope the offense can put up 40+. This will be fun to watch bc no way playing ball control will work the whole game. . Will be a track meet by mid 2Q. They will need it. Time for Josh to out-Mahomes Mahomes
  14. Allen will need to outscore them; that is the only way. 2 in 5 chance of that happening. but every game is a new thing, huge shootout. 80+ pass attempts. Turnovers probably decide it. Who gets careless in the pass game.
  15. my guess is Edmunds isn't even in the lineup tonight with the shoulder.. that guy needs to sit until he's healthy
  16. relax, champ, that was us 36 months ago.
  17. Allen & Co. will need to put up 40 to win this one. I don't see it, but, hey its the NFL every week stands on its own.
  18. rosters are pretty locked at this point 5 games in. more so than any other year. with Covid, no one letting anyone go. Hell, almost 70 opted out due to covid. won't be much quality out there this year.
  19. he would be very expensive.
  20. Yes indeed, no Duck Rodgers and the rest of them this year. Plus the D is shorthanded and injured. Time to get real. trust the process, McBeanes will continue to roster build and get the right guys on the field. Gonna be another rough one on Monday night, but better from there.
  21. Because the dropoff to anyone else is too severe. He calls the defense as well , which is critical. If he's ok from the waist down, he's on the field. Bills super thin at LB. If Milano and TE are both out, with Star opting out, they have trouble there. When's the bye week again?
  22. If someone is crazy dumping players for draft picks, sure, but in general , no GM is trading his better players at this stage of the season, esp with Covid a threat to trash your roster at any moment. The Bills roster pretty much is what it is at this point. Star will be back next year and the 1 technique issue goes away. Trust the Process. No knee jerking please. An injury ridded Bills team lost to a loaded Titans team playing at home on two weeks rest. nuf said. the whole "next man up" garbage is just that, garbage. And unless Tre , Milano, TE are at full strength , I fully expect KC to put up 35-40 on Monday night as well. We ain't playing Duck Rodgers every game this year.
  23. agree. I'm not worried about him. He'll be a monster next year. they get all buffed up to be fast at the combine, then the reality of the NFL has them gain 20 lbs. by year 3
  24. with Jordan Phillips, Lorax, Star and Gaines gone, they are looking a little lightweight in the front 7 for sure. they need T White to be playing in order to bring Poyer into the box. things will get better once he and a few others are back. Lose White and Milano this year for a game and you have a problem for that game.
