True. But he probably has his fingerprints on some of it and likely found an OC that shares his mindset for offensive play calling and scheme. Much the way that McD would not likely bring in a DC whose scheme did not align with his defensive philosophies. Point was more a correlation of teams abandoning the run and losing. I think run/pass balance in this Nickel Tampa-2 heavy league is key to offensive consistency at least consistency getting into the red zone. After that, defenses adjust to the shorter field and you just have to have the dominant line or the skill players, schemes, and execution to punch it in.

Mac Jones is repeatedly dirty and needs to be reined in
WideNine replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
And here is Allen showing Jones how to go big or go home. I like the way he just glances at the flag on the ground as he is walking away like he could care less. Allen has some attitude. https://youtu.be/cHAlVd254bk -
I honestly hate the Dolphins, but Tua is a genuinely nice guy which is a bit frustrating. Concussions are no joke and the more you have the more easily you get more, it is my worry with Morse too who I also think is a class act. At the end of the day it is a game, and players have to think about family and all that living they still have in front of them when they hang up the cleats. You would hope that they are getting sound medical advice about when they should walk away to avoid setting the stage for having to live with long-term mental of physical health issues.

For the amount of times we have seen Pittsburgh and Baltimore the past few years during the regular season it seems odd that we have not had the Bengals on our schedule since 2019. I am sure there is some kind of voodoo scheduling math the NFL uses, but would think this matchup would have the better games with the two young guns battling it out.

It is a constantly evolving league and I think teams figured out how Daboll was making a limited roster over achieve. There could be other factors around thier struggles. There could be a correlation to how Daboll calls games where they fall behind, or where he sees a stacked box and assumes he should call passing plays whether a defense is stopping Barkley or not. Daboll was always pretty quick to abandon the run and try to throw his way back into a game if we fell behind or the runs were not consistently gaining chunks. I find the splits data with their committment to running Saquan between winning and losing compelling. Wins: Attempts - 200 Yards - 947 4.74 yds/att Losses: Attempts - 93 Yards - 307 3.3 yds/att They average 26 rushing att/game that they won They average 13.8 rushing att/game in games they lost so run Barkley about half as often.

Glazer reports Jets moving on from Wilson.
WideNine replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wilson is a bad fit for that market and team and needs more time to mature behind a starter...elsewhere. There is talent there and he was solid that first game vs our Bills and he looked much better with a dynamic Breeze Hall taking some if the pressure off him prior to the injury. The smug attitude after lack luster performances and lack of personal accountability was immature and did not play well with the leaders in their locker room. It seems obvious that the Jets have been White's team to lose after his gutsy performance against the Bills -
Epenesa had a forgettable game against Miami last week and it was nice to see the bounce-back performance today. The devil's advocate in me thinks that maybe having Kingsley, an undrafted UFA from Syracuse, steal reps from you could perhaps be a bit motivational. Iron sharpens iron. His biggest issues have been setting the edge and being gap disciplined. Teams often run right at his gaps. I was also pissed that he swatted at the football instead of launching Miami's Mostert into the benches as he was trucking our DBs along the sideline last week. He probably received some remedial coaching along with the rest of the d-line after last week and the group took it to heart. They totally bottled up the runs and RPOs this game, sealed the edges, and rode those stretch runs all the way to the sideline with little to no cutback opportunities. It was a very solid performance for a group that frankly played uncharacteristically sloppy vs Miami.

Bills open as 1.5 point favorites against Bengals(O/U 49)
WideNine replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is not a big mystery, McD talks about it all the time. Complimentary football in all 3 phases (offense, defense, and special teams) for 60 minutes. That is different than saying mistake free, but limiting execution mistakes will help each phase have a strong complimentary game. We do that, there are few teams that hang with us. Looking forward to the Bengals game. -

If this team plays a complete game in all three phases they would just bury an opponent. We would see the backup QB playing out the end of games. They do have that capability. The offense can be explosive, the defense can pitch a shutout, and the special teams can be solid. Just have not had all those clicking at the same time, but when one area is struggling we have seen another area pick it up this year to get the "W". -

80 yards, no scores, and a fumble. We do that to Chase and I won't mind. Tampa bottled him up pretty well to the week prior. -
I don't fault Allen for missing the defender he thought was in man who dropped into a deep zone over Gabe. Just a defensive read he has to verify; Dorsey can help him spy those with more pre-snap motions. The floater over the middle was just a bad throw, and the long toss across his body into double coverage... he has to be smarter than that. That should have been an INT, especially with the conditions on the field and a slick ball. You could tell the wind at field level was bad the way Bass was missing XP, and how that one punt was being pushed along the ground just by the wind.

Week 16, 12/24/2022, Bills v. Bears, GAME BALLS
WideNine replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
On defense.. the entire D-Line. Honorable mentions to Taron, Milano, and Edmunds. Our defensive front was excellent, stayed gap disciplined, and did not lose contain on the edges - the runs they got gashed with against Miami, they quickly corrected after that first series. Played lights out down the stretch and kept us in the game after some ill-advised turnovers by our O put them back on the field or gave Chicago a short field. Defense came to play. On offense, our run blocking with Cook and Motor tearing it up. -

Would be interesting to see what NE did to shut down Chase -

We gave them a running game to think about... That can only make things better opening things up for this offense with the way teams have been playing us. Much better passing offense we will be going up against next week. Expect to see a lot more zone, maybe Tre following Chase with safety help all game. -

Again. King of the hill even with the bigger challenge and more teams gunning for our Bills. Nice. -

Yup. It happens, and players like Allen usually do better with a performance chip on their shoulder. We will see how Josh reacts next week. -

Killer instinct some said was missing.... Uncharacteristic of McD to just double-tap a team where we have a multi-score lead in the waning minute. Chicago must have done something that pissed him off. -

You're right. Allen was awesome today. C'mon this team has some warts, but glad we found our running game today. Cook looked really good today as that change-up back with wheels and hands. -
