  1. As to Bills franchise history, I would say definitely maybe...it's still very early for him, but I do feel like the trajectory is all looking up and he's made some killer FA moves this year, particularly with how he's structuring the deals to remain cap friendly for years to come. That's protecting your future leverage, and shows he's a good chess player. Obviously he won't hit Polian/Butler level until we are rewarded with consistent divisional crowns/deep playoff runs, but I have little doubt he's hit on Allen (obviously this is the single largest factor TBD), and has set things up quite nicely for McD to run with it on the field. With success will come top 5 billing as to comparing with the rest of the NFL as well. Cheers!!
  2. Donuts, what a difference one offseason makes. It could be argued, with an entirely straight face, that at least on paper, OL has gone from a glaring team weakness, to one of solid strength good enough to boost a playoff push. Man, what I'd give to be right on that once the games start!
  3. Um...we are Marshall? (minus the helmet )
  4. My fear as well. Nonetheless, I am gunning for 10-6, and a wild card berth (with win) at worst. I don't know why, but the Pats just don't automatically straight up scare me anymore like they did even up to last year.
  5. Donuts, I believe this is the dictionary definition for a “pastime.” Truly an enjoyable experience regardless of final outcome on a warm summer’s day. Cheers!
  6. Move down here to the A...there's one on every street corner and my goodness but they make the best chicken sammie in the world, jmho!! Plus their service (doors open to all customers, isn't that inclusive enough?) is top notch for a fast food joint. I mean, when was the last time your local burger king put out fresh cut flowers on your table? In the meantime, the Buffalo citizens will be made to care by know it all politicians, and better never frequent one, right? https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2019/apr/1/chick-fil-banned-another-airport-over-anti-lgbt-cl/
  7. Whoo--hoo!! I always enjoy the first week, when the Pirates are at least within striking distance of the division lead, and I can realistically daydream about postseason glory. Then the dog days of Summer come, and with them the inevitable push by the Cards or the Brewers, or recently, the Cubs, and all hope is lost. Talk about a drought, I had to endure not only the Bills for 17 years, but the Pirates for 20. Such is my sports life. Early taste of success to suck me in (early 90's for both), and then...nothing else until deep into my 30's.
  8. With some parts of the world, I reckon it's just easier not to expend the mental energy required to differentiate between this or that part...
  9. @LSHMEAB, I had no idea your family roots trace all the way back to the old German country! Wunderbar!
  10. On the occasion of a mid winter’s blue moon ?, so basically just in my memories of growing up in the North. ☺️
  11. Also, don’t have kids. I jest because I love. Wouldn’t trade mine for 100 years of no more colds. Am doing a lot better since yesterday, thanks to everyone for their sharing, tips and good points. Avoided the doc for now and am looking forward to being more productive this coming week! Go Bills!!!!!
  12. Crackling fireplace fire in a cozy room at night, sipping on a good cup of something hot—with a howling winter’s wind outside not fit for man nor beast. Also in that vein, the sights and smells of new fallen snow, quiet and pristine...
  13. This kind of thing happening always helps put stuff in perspective—the back and forth on the boards over sports is in good fun and all, but at the end of the day there’s more important things, like living your life to the full with those you love (including your pets), and it sounds like you’ve had a good companion for many years, I’m sure that’s been a 2 way street too. Wish you all the best with this.
  14. Sorry you’re going through this ODB; it’s never easy losing or getting ready to say goodbye to a pet that’s basically become a part of the family.
  15. ^^^^This, lol. I was banned from school fundraising in elementary school after eating too much of my own inventory that my mom bless her heart, had to pay up for at the end—.50 cents adds up quick on those M & M boxes!! I had to pay off the debt through extra chores which is still probably not enough in hindsight.
  16. All the best to you and your family!
  17. Now we know why Rob Ryan, despite sleeping at the office, was never able to communicate Rex’s D effectively after getting on Pegulas payroll...his other gig was way more important
  18. The form of these questions is reminding me of my last eye dr appointment, and sure enough, when I told him which lens combo made the letters appear the best, wouldn’t ya know I walked out of there with an Rx for even thicker glasses than before? The nerve of that guy.
  19. ^^^^^This. Thurm was an amazing pass catcher on top of everything else, and led the league in combined yards from scrimmage seemingly his entire career as a result. I agree that it’s not an easy answer when you stop to consider how many dimensions your RB should have in order to be considered best ever. Barry always seems to be a consensus choice too.
  20. Hmmmm...a QB needy team that drafted its future franchise in Rosen 12months ago is getting ready to drop him like a hot potato as they’d rather start from scratch in the draft again than see more of him...yeah, I’d like to spend one of our high draft picks to pick him up...because why again? Sorry, I lost the logic while repeating it back.
