  1. ^^^^^Post of the day Wiz, Post. Of. The. Day. I would only add, really need to see the Bills straight up handle their business against Hoodie & Co., because from a coaching standpoint the qualitative difference is still way too marked, aging Tom or not, as we saw this week with lack of critical in-game adjustments.
  2. As another poster above already mentioned, it’s clear that the lack of talent around JA right now is holding him back from his best self, not the other way around. How could you not like the direction he’s going? I’ve been super encouraged by most of what I’ve seen so far from him, including his priority of looking for intermediate/deep options first—we’ve been missing that kind of aggressive mind set from our signal callers for how long around here? Since Kelly? Everyone knows how deficient our roster is right now compared to 2013-14, yet we have a buzz/excitement about Sundays that has been missing for far too long.
  3. How do you tell a GOAT type player that he needs to start prepping an exit plan? A lot of the great ones had trouble coming to terms with their own playing mortality and ended up rather ungraciously exiting from their organizations...some to retire, some to eke out a few more seasons somewhere else because they still felt like they had “it,” which was a 50/50 proposition any given week; TB12 in Kraft’s mind has probably earned himself the right to do it however he wants to, including playing a few more years in decline, but I feel like Belichick is a different proposition—he’s always handled players as commodities that you buy/sell and don’t think about it in nostalgic terms. Get the popcorn ?! But at the end of the day, I’m more worried about our own house and taking care of our business, which will hopefully someday include a straight up beat down of these same Pats, consistently.
  4. Seems to me like you are looking for a dynasty type lineup, which is what we all want, but not necessarily what we need, in order to put out a competitive playoff type caliber lineup. Basically every team in the NFL has warts that we can pick on, or places they need serious upgrades here or there. Having a couple of difference makers on the field, starting at QB as the most important one, will still get us where we need to be in year 3 of the process, IMHO. In terms of needs, at least 2 changes on the line (center, guard), 1-2 solid WR options (Foster's emergence as a bona fide deep threat already helps), 1 RB I think basically would do the job of significant improvement, even if we just hold serve on D, as that unit for the most part this year, showed it can hang if the offense has a pulse.
  5. @Uncle Joeand @plenzmd1, I have to apologize for the inaccuracy of my earlier post about the movie title. Uncle Joe was right, the movie featuring the story line about the German mother and children who share a Christmas meal with soldiers from both sides in the winter of '44 is correctly titled "Silent Night." I got it confused with "A Midnight Clear," which also features a "truce" story line between GI's and some German soldiers, but in a different setting that did not involve civilians in the story. My bad! To the question about where to find either of them, I have not been able to locate a reputable stream for either available right now (some sketchy overseas ones claim to have both for free), so might have to be a DVD/Blu-ray order?
  6. Seems to be taking to Buffalo like a fish to water—like Jimbo after he finally decided to make Buffalo home—and has never left since. Fingers crossed ?? ...
  7. Merry Christmas to all of my intraweb fellow Bills fans!! Appreciate everything you add to my days, and glad we are in this thing together ???
  8. The zebras grabbed the opportunity to appear impartial since the Bills were finding creative ways all on their own to gift the Pats this game. The worst part is that they win the division yet again, but truly are on a downhill slide and this one feels cheap—any competence by the Bills today would’ve been enough to win, that’s how mortal the Pats have become. Oh, and we should probably plan to pencil in a practice session for special teams sometime this week? Just a friendly suggestion from the ghost of Christmases past, when the Bills were actually feared in this department. Maybe Tasker could guest coach this week, and give Crossman’s overworked brain a well deserved time out?
  9. For my 2 cents, the pic below told me everything I needed to know about where Shady’s mindset was at by then. Pic worth a thousand words and all that:
  10. Seems like the Bills have a way of keeping games close that no one expects them to be competitive in, and suffer blowouts where expectations are high...really not sure what to make of this one but I still believe we can pull out a squeaker late.
  11. Thanks @ShadyBillsFan that post made my morning as I’m heading out to do some last minute shopping ?—Merry Christmas!
  12. Well, just move down south for awhile and you may learn to miss it. In point of fact, it gets plenty cold down here, just not cold enough to snow a lot. That's almost worse in my book. I have a buddy from college who's now lived in Singapore for the past 15+ years, and per him, being the weatherman over there has to be the most boring job in the world. Every day is 87-88 for the high, and 78-79 for a low, with scattered T-storms in the afternoons. Rinse/Repeat. I'll take a full 4 seasons please!
  13. Back at ya Ice...Merry Christmas! Good luck rest of the way on your end of things to close out the season.
  14. I never knew that eggs could be used so effectively in self-defense! Those guys were like the Houdini of physical comedy gold.
  15. I shouldn't complain because my in-laws are actually pretty great, all things considered, but their gift giving skills could use some work--namely, every year by October sometime, they badger me into giving them a Christmas wish list (and I mean badger), and I inevitably look up what I emailed the year before, and basically cut and paste the same list over and over. Then on Christmas, I get something completely off the list. I mean, not even close! Like clockwork, and it's nothing I would've asked for. But again, please don't take this the wrong way--they are great in-laws and if this is the most I can complain about them, then I feel like I'm doing pretty good . That's a classic. Coincidentally, my wife's grandmother, the first time I met her at their family Christmas party after dating my wife for about 4-5 months at that point, gives me a ratchet set, saying everyone there was getting a gift, including me as the new guy. I'm probably even worse with tools than you are Johnny, trust me. My wife and I still laugh about it to this day as the set collects dust in the garage...but the thought was nice! She was a sweetheart right up until her passing several years back.
  16. That is exactly my fear, yes. But I guess we'll just have to cross that troll bridge when we come to it.
  17. Does this include a helmet throw and a heated exchange on the sideline between him and McDaniel or Gronk? Check that, between him and Hoodie?
  18. Beware--Barkley will now officially become the knight in shining armor for all those 'wrong josh' members calling for a replacement the moment JA throws his first pick-6. That said, I love this move by the Bills to lockup the backup spot, plus he's a good guy to boot who doesn't mind helping out the younger #1 as much as he can--quality add! Good job McBeane!
  19. I believe what you are feeling might be something along the lines of Stockholm Syndrome <sigh>. Fight it!
  20. Hey man, aren't you glad that we have something positive to post about as opposed to the sheer misery that was 4 weeks of the mid-season this year, and the tail end of every single year in the drought until last year? Who wants to read non-stop messaging boards about how bad everything is with no hope for any betterment? No thanks, I'll pass. I'll tell you what, if you haven't watched the story about Super Cade and Allen yet, I'm re-posting it here, maybe that will help clarify part of what makes us so proud to have Josh as the face of the franchise right now. Oh, and he can play ball too. C'mon, that's just not right.
  21. That's why fan is short for fan-atic I believe...also, I believe there are a few ex-GF's of mine who probably feel similarly about me now as we do about any of our scrap heap ex-QB's lol, I admit it. But anyway, right now I'm lovin' me some Josh Allen, no doubt about it, and am looking forward to what he shows us this week in NE--biggest (starting) test for him yet, IMHO.
  22. Is there any light on what happened/when the MCL tear could've occurred? Also, haven't looked into it at all, but wouldn't this be a violation of league rules if the Pats don't list him on their injury report (provided they know about MCL)? At last check, Brady is not on the report at all. Just wondering aloud
  23. Super Cade. Allen will leave it all on the field if nothing else because he knows that kid & his family will be watching. I get it @PatsFanNH --it's a tall order from the Bills' persepctive, and I totally agree that on paper at least, this has all the makings of a blowout loss for Buffalo. But the deck was stacked even worse against the Bills the last time these two teams played, and the Bills made a game of it up to the 4th quarter, playing behind a shell-shocked Derek Anderson manning some of the worst offensive ball that we've ever seen. IIRC, it was 9-6 at the half? Again, I agree with all of your points (except #1, because JA's running talent up to this point has been superior to even that of <gulp> Michael Vick, just ask Kiko Alonso about that), I just think it will end up being a closer game than expected, with one or two pivotal plays being the difference at the end.
  24. My mom was always pretty open with us kids early on that this was all in good fun, and didn't try to threaten that St. Nick wouldn't show up for bad behavior, etc., so I never had "that moment" where it all came crashing down...just kind of knew all along as far as I can remember (probably helped along by the fact I was the youngest). But didn't change the fact that Christmas always was and still is, my fav holiday for many other reasons. That said, my wife has put knowledge of all of this on total lockdown in our house now, safer than Fort Knox with our kids. But my oldest who's about to turn 6, is sure asking a lot of problematic questions when it comes to Elf on the Shelf, and the whole thing may come to a screeching halt with her soon as a result . @Gugny is right, whoever invented that one needs a stern letter to the editor sent over.
