  1. My mom was always pretty open with us kids early on that this was all in good fun, and didn't try to threaten that St. Nick wouldn't show up for bad behavior, etc., so I never had "that moment" where it all came crashing down...just kind of knew all along as far as I can remember (probably helped along by the fact I was the youngest). But didn't change the fact that Christmas always was and still is, my fav holiday for many other reasons. That said, my wife has put knowledge of all of this on total lockdown in our house now, safer than Fort Knox with our kids. But my oldest who's about to turn 6, is sure asking a lot of problematic questions when it comes to Elf on the Shelf, and the whole thing may come to a screeching halt with her soon as a result . @Gugny is right, whoever invented that one needs a stern letter to the editor sent over.
  2. Pluses: -The Pats have never seen a rookie quite like this, who at least on paper, matches up well against their D. -Brady appears to be succumbing from the same yips as any other mortal QB, when faced with the prospect of pressure in his face, and has aging mobility to improvise in such event. -All of the above. Negatives: -Hoodie. -Brady. -History in Foxboro.
  3. Totally supported the call--how many times have we sat on the other side of the ledger, yelling at the TV for our coach(es) to just grow a pair and try to keep the pedal to the metal instead of always playing it safe, or not to lose, thereby seemingly letting chances slip past? Obviously context always matters, but with JA running like he has, and good field position regardless, I still liked it despite the fact it didn't work this time.
  4. Sorry if this comes across as a bit of a LAMP posting--but I had to share with all of you one of the all-time best gag gifts I have ever received, just this morning (I also realize this is not part of the kid friendly theme of the original posting :)), if you're a fan of the movie "Anchorman" you'll totally understand why I had to post this:
  5. Very emotional, I may or may not have had some trouble with my eyes welling up for some reason. It was heartfelt, genuine, and all around great story of grit and determination by a little boy who refuses to let his health realities define him. The fact that Josh so obviously cares enough about Cade to keep tabs on him even after making the big leagues and then provide him with the experiences that we saw, is in a word, priceless. You could tell this was something Josh wanted to do. That’s my quarterback, all day doggone it!
  6. I like it—simple yet effective at addressing glaring needs early
  7. So...his idiocy allowed him to run for YPA barely dreamed of even by running backs let alone QB’s and has avoided major hits in the process, but he’s so much safer behind our current line in the pocket...got it. Also, he did just fine in terms of smarts and production, especially for a rookie who’s started less than 10 games, when contained by Patricia’s D in said pocket. How revolutionary that he can hurt you both ways! But you stay on the Rosen attitudinal express, by all means.
  8. I won’t re-hash what others have already pointed out to you with better eloquence than I could offer up. I’m just curious what exactly it will take seeing from Allen before you change your avatar handle as having been a painfully obvious error? Bonus question would be, what does Rosen have to keep showing you in order for you to objectively keep your handle as is? Finally, how long of a sample size do you anticipate needing as to any of the above?
  9. Agreed. The knee jerk hot stove reaction to fire everyone, that was running rampant on the boards by mid-season, clearly hasn’t been aging quite as well. I was just as guilty of that as anyone else, where it concerned Culley and Daboll. Allen is making undeniable leaps and bounds (no pun intended) advances to his game week over week, and we would be foolish to tinker with whatever is working for him right now. Obviously we have to build up the talent pool around him, but I’m coming around as to his coaching/mentoring resources in place already.
  10. Sorry didn’t see you posted that already; glad you liked it too!
  11. Thanks for the thread/posting. As if I needed yet another reason to like the direction we are going with Josh Allen!
  12. As a fellow Home Alone fan, seeing Macaulay do this spot for a commercial was actually pretty funny/kinda cool I thought: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKYABI-dGEA
  13. He already tried to last week--I have this on good authority, lol:
  14. Happier, better days for the both of them...but still escalated the awkwardness really fast:
  15. The best part about this vid from 2016, is the viewer comments section below it--check it out:
  16. Before the last game against the Pats, we did a Tom Brady centered meme thread--here's round 2, but this time it might be fun to focus more on Belichick? But still feel free to add anything Brady as well
  17. Just another hill for our boys to climb in trying to get a W this week with a stacked deck against them. Have to admit that ever since the whole Hughes incident a couple weeks ago, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop on a call that costs us the game before the end of this year as a "solidarity payback" from the zebra brotherhood. <sigh>.
  18. Bellychick has always prided himself on being able to scheme away for the entirety of a game, at least one of the main attack patterns of the opposing offenses (be it a specific playmaker, or style of play such as run-heavy or pass-heavy). I can't wait to see what he dials up for this game and how Allen will respond. Now that Hoodie has seen what Patricia did, will he try to emulate that and rely on TB12 being better than Stafford to pull out the W? IMHO the Pats D is no better than the Lions in terms of shut down personnel, so there should be opportunities for Allen to make them pay, whichever way they decide to play him. Can't wait for this game to start!!!
  19. I appreciate where you're coming from and the overall sentiments in your post. Normally would agree 110% in fact. However, you can't help but question the timing/motivation of this announcement/voluntary pullback by JG, given Blitz's inclusion of this: ...is facing another indefinite suspension for violating terms of his reinstatement under the substance abuse policy, per source. That said, I truly hope from a human standpoint, that this becomes a turning point in this young man's life and he can pull it together. Because he has to want it, for himself, and not go through the motions of something that won't stick if he was forced into it in the first place. Good luck to him.
