It's a common thing for parents to try and leach off their children's achievements. Whether it's the lunatics who take their daughters to beauty pageants or the ones who stand in the crowd of the child genius things believing it's all down to them. It must be hard for Mahomes because he loves his mum and probably doesn't want to have to tell her to shut the ***** up but she really needs to go and find some other things to feel proud of instead of believing she's somehow responsible for his success (that QB producer jacket is just insane). Absolutely. Brady is that guy (and has been for years now) where players will shut up and listen to him. Even that a-hole Brown, who their coach didn't even want, Brady vouched for him and guaranteed he wouldn't be trouble. And he was right. Not many QBs carry that kind of aura where their body of work says so much that even the biggest jerks will tow the line if he says so. Manning had it to a certain degree as well. Brady didn't just improve them at the QB position, he changed the entire mentality of that team. Whatever he says during meetings and pregame, you know guys are going to shut up and listen, because he can just point to (at that point) the six SB rings. I also think him being there would give the entire team that extra self belief, "Tom's told us we're going to win this game and he's been there and done it more than anyone, so it has to be true". Plus he's like having an extra coach out there. At his age he's seen every type of defense and been in every possible situation countless times so he must help an absolute ***** load with the game plan. How many other QBs in the league can bring all that to the table? None. I can't stand the guy but the facts are undeniable

I don't follow college ball so have no idea who we should go after. But I did research a few edge rushers and really took a liking to Joseph Ossai from Texas. Be interested to hear what the college experts think about him and whether he would fit our scheme or even be there when we pick (I've seen mocks where he is and some where he's long gone)

Terrible news. RIP Marty Ball. I don't believe in heaven but hope it does exist as I can imagine him meeting up with Derek Thomas to talk about their KC days. I mention Thomas because I remember a great clip of Marty talking to him on the sideline when Thomas has gotten emotional during a game and the way the coach talked him down and got him focused was great.
