  1. Your point still stands but not for nothing, I wouldn’t call Devante Parker a no-name WR. He’s horribly underachieved in Miami but I’d be curious to see him on another team.
  2. A week after we came within one red zone conversion of seriously being in danger of losing to the Dolphins we have a “let down.” Do you guys hear yourself?
  3. No, they’re correct. Allen’s ball placement and anticipation has left a lot of yards on the field all year. Its OK to admit the shortcomings of our players.
  4. I love this team and we’re on the upswing but so many people are in denial that our offense is below average. We’ve been bailed out by the defense, squeaking by really bad teams, and some condensed spurts of Josh Allen comeback heroics but this offense is consistently teetering on bad. What has anyone seen all year that makes them think we’re scoring 20 today.
  5. I hate that saying, “we’re a second half team!” What’s that supposed to mean? The team is unprepared for half the game? Our players can’t execute for half the game? Play calling is bad for half the game? Good teams don’t rest their hat on playing a good half of football.
  6. There’s no age limit. The number of reasons I may punch somebody in the throat has dwindled significantly over the years but it still includes somebody physically assaulting my dog or doing something to my daughter. Nothing else really bothers me. I’d probably intervene if I ever saw blatant xenophobia/racism out in public to the magnitude of viral video levels but I’ll cross that bridge if that day ever comes. I’m not trying to lose my job over something that doesn’t involve me but I have no tolerance for that. I’ve had to drag my wife away from fights, though. She’s very protective of our daughter. We were at the park and there was this trash family there, vulgarly talking and gesturing loudly around the kids and not watching their children misbehave on the playground. We had made the decision to leave and go to a different park when one of their kids bulldozes into our daughter, seemingly on purpose. One of the adults yells over something vulgar about our (then five year old) daughter “watching where the eff she was going.” I knew my wife was already annoyed at this family but that was the last straw. I had to literally drag her to the car. I hope those people realize I probably saved their lives that day because my wife will not step when she loses control until you’re in the hospital.
  7. The City of Buffalo has a drinking culture. People here drink. A lot. We’re also a relatively poor region, especially in the NFL world. If you raised tickets to “price the drunken idiots out,” who is going to those games? The team already has a difficult time selling suites and tickets to cold weather games. Besides, you’re making the logical jump that the “drunks” can’t afford the games. Remember when I said Buffalo has a drinking culture? The rowdiest people I know at the games would have no problem with a ticket increase. I don’t think you’d price out the demographic you think you would that easily without the team severely handcuffing itself. Locating the stadium downtown isn’t going to curtail drinking either and the party culture would be even closer for people who just want to party but not attend games. Remember Chippewa of old? Have you seen Allentown on a Saturday night recently? It’s an absolute ***** show. Bills games would be that x10,000. Buffalo is a rowdy drinking town. You can change the name but it’s always going to be that way.
  8. He states in the article that he has an engineering degree and is employed as a software developer. Hopefully more of these guys choose using their scholarships for degrees they can use instead of chasing the dream and suffering football injuries for $27,000. Mighty Taco pays more than that.
  9. Just thinking about the guy’s mental health and potential substance abuse relapse issues, the dumpster fire that is Miami seems like the worst possible landing spot for him. Im pulling for the guy’s success wherever he goes, I hope it isn’t there.
  10. Gordon isn’t a Leodis. If you find an interview, he’s fairly articulate and intelligent sounding. In two years in NE, I’m sure he’s got that playbook down solid. From what I’ve seen, he’s also been a good blocker in NE.
  11. If they shortened the amount of minutes in a game, they’d probably keep the same broadcast time with additional commercials. Never forget that the bottom line is 100% about making as much money as possible. Three hour games are already accepted by people watching. Shorter game times would just be offset by more revenue earning filler.
  12. Offense is going to be what ultimately holds this team back. Out d might be lights out but sooner or later it’s going to struggle against teams better than NYJ, Cincy, Miami and we’re going to get buried. Come playoffs they better get it together or it’ll be a very short lived return to the postseason.
  13. I’d imagine that’s about the speech Brian Flores is giving his team today.
  14. That’s not what he said. He said, as of right now, there’s not a discussion to be had but that he also believed the union would be open to the idea of an extended schedule if the compensation was right. He then indicated that compensation would have to be pretty massive. He also indicated that he thought it could be a bargaining chip for better benefits/health care. That sounds like an extended schedule will be coming down the pipeline someday after a few years of arguing over the compensation.
  15. I make a lot of garbage and trolly posts and this falls into ”rando internet rumors they probably made up” but I’ve heard first hand from very politically connected people that it’s essentially a “done deal” downtown. I’m also looking forward to the KBC retrofit next year. It’s not becoming a convention center so I’m not sure where that nonsense came from. Look for a minor expansion and exterior revamp to better connect with Canalside.
  16. Goodell and the administrative officers of the league are essentially employers of the owners. They work on their behalf. This is what the owners want, to some degree. I think Boatdrinks has it absolutely right in their assessment. If the “NFL” ever snubbed the majority wish of the owners, the league office would be wiped clean the following season. Make no mistake who sets the tone for the rules and policies the league carries out.
  17. If Fitz plays the whole game, I think Miami beats Washington soundly. Yikes.
  18. Coach speak and nothing more. If the right deal comes, I’d wager their GM goes for it.
  19. What an awful coach Vrabel is. Even if Santos makes the kick, you still need a TD. Given how the game has gone, it’s no guarantee you even cross midfield again...
  20. Maybe, next time don’t try another FG. Just sayin’, TN.
  21. I’m not in favor of any MLB expansion of the playoffs, and as a Pirates fan, that’s about the only way to see them make it anywhere, but I’m still not in favor. Expanding the wildcard round would also wreak havoc on the winner’s rotation and bullpen for the divisional round. It’s a major disadvantage already but that would really add to it.
  22. I love that one of his first statements to police was that he didn’t hit her back. It’s OK to fully hit a woman at the point that she’s crushing your balls to the extreme that they’re leaking. Thats the girl you take home at 4am and “forgot you have to go to work” at 7am.
  23. I’m not sure why you’re being condescending towards an opinion that’s the opposite of the opinion that you’re giving. They’re both opinions. There’s plenty of tape on Josh, dating back to Wyoming, to suggest this is largely who he is. Maybe he cleans up his game a little, maybe he doesn’t. I don’t think he ever will, either. The question is can he continue to progress towards making great plays more consistently? The good might end up far outweighing the bad but someone suggesting he’s always going to be a gunslinger bordering on reckless isn’t absurd.
  24. This is more of a myth than anything. The majority of coaches and players never “pack it in.” If Zac Taylor “packs it in,” he’s likely a one and done and there’s no guarantee he gets another shot at a head coaching gig. Most of the players on an NFL team aren’t superstars who can stay in the league based off name recognition or reputation. They need tape of effort, potential, and performance. Guys are always playing hard for the future. The Bengals just aren’t very good. They weren’t last week, either.
