  1. ...hey Kirksey missed 5 games this last year alone on a 2 year 16 million dollar deal. He played well, but can't stay healthy. Same reason he was cut by Browns. I'd bring him in for a peanut type deal...but mostly would not plan around him. He's not the kinda guy you count on.
  2. He's tiny...much smaller than the thumpers they use. They'd have to twist some scheme stuff.
  3. I say no to Kirksey...didnt he turn down an offer sheet? We have Klein and he's been released by 2 teams now. I say draft a guy or shoot for a bit better. He wont improve our D.
  4. Cleaning house in Carolina...
  5. I didnt know Marquis Goodwin was still in the league. Man that crazy contract he got from 49ers such a terrible move. Such a from bad to worse move for Eagles to trade for him. Goodwin is the only guy Ive ever heard a team say yep, we are trying to trade that dude.
  6. The notion of 1 year rentals confuses me. Those are rougher on a tight cap. I would think there would be more 2-3 year deals that backload cash or structure creatively. Deals that have team friendly out clauses.
  7. Nah, 17 million not that much for pass rusher if you feel hes a fit. You could restructure the deal as well. I thought he had trade value as well. Does anyone know if he has a no trade clause? Because Watkins supposedly does. A lot of players will be willing to take less. JJ wants a ring. Get cap hit down to 12 -13 million and that's still likely his value. Moot now though. Article below saying Texans just being classy....yeah right. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/texans-release-j-j-watt-owner-cal-mcnair-explains-why-the-team-didnt-trade-star-pass-rusher/
  8. Get r done Beane.
  9. I'm with you here. Its a tough call too, as Roberts was really good at times this season. Let's also notionally consider that John Brown getting traded or cut could be a factor here too. One guy that can do all three of these slots is a huge bonus.
  10. Can't tag anyone with our cap situation. Beane is going to need to wield a creative scalpel when it comes to contracts and capology this year, and a heavy hit like a franchise tag won't work. The Milano LB tag would be an option under differing circumstances. It's not that far off the actual projected per year value...but this LB number has been sculpted by pass rushers, not workman coverage LBs who play gritty. I know, a few of those guys have gotten big deals, sporadically, (see Milano thread) and they've nearly all been bad for the NFL and bad calls. BTW I really disagree with the acknowledged per year value for Matt, and I'm just not comfortable with paying anything close to that much for him. Transition tag # is rarely worth it, and teams can craft poison pill deals. This is amplified when a team is in tight cap situation, as the notion the player may get signed with a matching offer, or a sign of tag, can hold the FA process hostage. The tag system is slowly breaking...and it's really rarely worth it.
  11. Did "Sammy Watkins looking dejected on the sideline" win anybody Super Bowl bingo?
  12. Chiefs D make 'em easy to root against. They are trash dudes ...
  13. The effects of a big drop in the cap this year have long-standing echoes into all of our future planning and how contracts work with the cap. Its because they are long term planners i think we will see many, contracts restructured. The cap matter alone is , out over the years it's literally a massive impact that needs to be planned for by adjusting numbers. In short, the numbers have forever changed the game may forever change long term. Also the real effect on $ is beyond the cap. Dont think the economic impact just snaps back into place. There is no promise even FY21 will be the same. The league may make some adjustments as well.
  14. Well it does not need to be Toney per say....
  15. I agree, but not as much for others when you look at how teams view speed guys that factor as that 3-4 guy in their rotation. Different teams place huge value on this, and when you look at contracts like Marquis Goodwin got, Will Fuller, Sammy Watkins...you never knw what kind of payout some of these dudes get.
  16. I expect the Bills to try to restructure nearly everyone as well. Even guys normally not approached, will likely be approached. Rough year for everyone, and dang the salary cap, we don't even know what shape the Pegula's are in with actual liquid cash after a year like this. I'd also get Star in ASAP for a physical whenever we can. Guy is uncuttable virtually this year, but we need to know if he's still a football player and going to be a contributor.
  17. Maybe...but from Buffalo's standpoint can we have even 5 million tied up in a WR 4 in Brown's current role? Especially with large dollars to a KR/WR In Roberts, and McKenzie needing to be replaced via the draft or FA. Not to mention all the other needs...and Diggs and Allen new contracts looming. I hate to bring this up, because Roberts was so clutch during most of the year, but ghosted in the playoffs, and in fact played terrible in the Colts game. It may still be worthwhile to explore the John Brown/ Roberts/ Mckenzie Role being replaced by one dude. Not crazy to say a Kaderius Toney kind of guy could come in and be that.
  18. I think your totally wrong...agree to disagree. New team would not swallow full 10 million, they'd at worse get hit w/ a little less than 8. Then you get a pretty solid WR instead of letting him hit a market. Brown's speed will be in demand. Not to mention new team can restructure him to about 5-6 million per year, which is easily what he's worth. I know this year will be lower, but good luck with the expectation he'll take 4 million per year.
  19. Why isn't he talking about the possible trade value? I really think John Brown has a potential trade value at 8 mil per year for a burner wide receiver who can...in the right system... catch 70 balls. This guy is not garbage, and he could always do a new deal. Lets also talk about restructuring. I don't think he's neccesarily a cut.
  20. Seems unlikely to me, more Jets wishful thinking....unless it is to Pats. Frankly, id keep Sam and give him some weapons.
  21. Felciano is going to be the kind of guy hit hard this year. He didnt have the best year, but he is versatile and could likely come back for cheap, given salary cap concerns league wide. The Chiefs game was not a full spectrum view of his season. Id try to bring him back on a bargain cap friendly deal.
  22. Everyone saying "cut smoke" damned if he does not have trade value. 8 million per year vet burner who can grab 70 balls per year in right system not a bad deal.
  23. What about trade value for Brown? legit burner for 8 mill per year does not sound wild to me.
