I have to respectfully disagree with you on the coverage part ..the Rams scored 2 tds in a row by using presnap motion to get gurley and then Cooper kupp on Anthony Barr and it was literally two wide open td throws. The Vikings deep coverage has been atrocious all year..Allen could have had two 50+ yard tds last Sunday. The Rams didn't have great coverage either the only thing that stopped cousins from wide open throws was pressure .

This has been a thing since polian and the rules committee further emphasized the contact rules for defensive backs after the colts receivers got mugged by the pats in the playoffs in like 2004...Its where the game was headed eventually anyhow. You have to remember teams used to run because it was more efficient to run..even up until the late 90s some teams barely even had a shotgun formation in their playbook..now you have all these spread concepts from college and such.

completely agree i rather watch a balanced game anyday..i hate these games were it seems like the qbs are throwing on air because they happen all too often nowadays it was fun when it happened in the 90s ( no punt game) cus it was rare and kelly and young were just unstoppable that game.

The interesting thing about Allen holding the ball too long is..what if he's just that type of qb. Ben roethlisberger and rusell Wilson have basically held the ball way too long for the majority of their careers..and Josh at Wyoming always held the ball. Don't know if he'll ever be able to consistently get the ball out quick seems to go against his natural instincts . Contrast to Brady from year 1 he was getting the ball out super quick ..same with brees . Maybe tho daboll can teach him that not sure.

Defintely Marrone he always had us competitive and prepared ..he was just hamstrung by awful Qb play..ej was so bad..they had to go out and get Kyle Orton. I think with a better gm aka coughlin he would have been great here. Whaley screwed him on ej pick and the Watkins trade up. There is offences that are predicated on gong vertical..bucaneers rams..Steelers ..but as far as an offence who basically lined up most plays and ran deep patterns I doubt we see that again..it nearly got Kurt Warner killed once the rams oline got a little bit older ..the pass rush in today's NFL is too exotic for these protections to hold up play after play.
