  1. hes excellent against the run thats his value...in other aspects hes never gonna wow us
  2. I honestly havent seen anything from other than being pushed back..he was pushed around by the bengals today
  3. This is becoming a situation like a couple years ago when pays fired their ol coach and brought back scarnezzia or w.e his name is...this online unit is the worst in the entire league by a longshot ..the players are terrible but what is Castillo doing to improve this
  4. Even last season the line wasn't this bad . Beane and McDermott have to address this our olime is bad enough to get the 1st overall pick
  5. Vontae has to go..Ross beat him on that slant like nothing
  6. Its because first and foremost he was good last preseason as well . And he's making all the throws we already know Peterman is decent at ..soft tosses over the middle slants..quick fades. The minute he has to throw outside..the ball has no velocity on it and it's nearly pick 6..he's limited as a passer because of his physical limitations it's hard to get behind a guy who you know limits the playbook. He struggles to even to get adequate zip on a simple quick out .
  7. I was never a believer in EJ it baffles me to this day how a former professional scout turned gm could think he was good . Even his " YouTube highlights " were not impressive . He had such an unnatural release at FSU and Hackett and Marrone tried to " fix " it and it made it even worse. For a guy with a big arm his passes lacked velocity ..Ill never forgot the game I believe vs jets where Marrone nearly lost his mind cus ej kept throwing vertical and corner routes way outta bounds .
  8. That's a very good overlooked pt ..theres different types of throwers ..Josh Allen is never gonna be the peyton/Brees/ brady hit the back foot spray 40 passes a game for 380 yards with pinpoint accuracy ...think of him like a big Ben or Russ Wilson or Carson Wentz guys who throw the ball with excellent velocity and are productive on explosive plays rather than pinpoint accuracy .
  9. His elongated throwing motion is a big problem tho he's gonna throw pick sixes unless he makes it more compact. His velocity and accuracy looked good tho
  10. Accuracy can be improved depending on the reason for the innacuracy . EJ Manuel couldn't improve his accuracy because his entire mechanics were unnatural from his throwing motion to footwork . Josh Allen has fluid throwing mechanics and footwork that can be improved it's the small details that make a big difference. Just look at Aaron Rodgers in college vs NFL ..Tedford overcoached Rodgers changed his mechanics his accuracy suffered ...in the NFL mcarthy had him go back to how he threw naturally in highschool .
  11. completely agree exact same observations i had
  12. I thought AJ was the best qb on the field tonight his pocket precense and his accuracy was good..Peterman had good production but his arm talent just isn't good enough for professional football you can win with him in an offence where you keep him away from perimeter routes but after a cpl weeks defences will just flood the middle like they did vs Trent Edwards ..Josh Allen was encouraging tonight..the 3rd string o line was awful I feel like he showed relatively good poise and had the flashes ..the TD throw obviously was phenomenal and you could see his talent translating albeit in this small sample size .
  13. I believe it's so the doctors can see the players face and eyes to see if they're conscious ..because in certain situations you want as little neck movement as possible
  14. Foles hasn't really been mediocre unless you count those years under Jeff Fisher where he managed to make case keenum look like he belonged in the CFL..Goff a bust
  15. When I read about Russ Brandon telling the pegulas to not let rex leave the building..heres this loudmouth coach who hadn't made the playoffs in nearly half a decade..and actually lost badly to Marrone and Kyle Orton..vaunted defence that couldn't even contain Watkins ..then we hire him as a saviour when his defence hadnt been ranked high in years
  16. EJ manuel had a big arm during the combine when he was coached up...if you watched him at fla state..or during bills game despite having the ability to put zip on the ball his ball always floated..i still remember Jim kelly being in the booth with tasker etc as a guest and hes watching ej and hes like just rip the ball..cus ej wud float comeback routes cus his mechanics were so robotic
  17. While i agree with certain aspects of the article...i dont agree with " hell never be a 60% passer..his low completion percentage in college was more of a system thing. Just watch baker mayfield vs ohio state..literally 70% of his passes were designed for easy completions..option te flat passes.. screens...option pass pitches..allen was asked to throw far more seam and deep comebacks and other throws which are much harder to complete
  18. One thing you can immediately see from watching him is that his actually throwing mechanics are solid. His footwork was sloppy like most college qbs but he has a natural throwing motion which is often overlooked... go back and look at Ej manuels college film and you see a guy with an awkward unnatural throwing mechanics who had a high completion percentage due to the offence he was in. Josh has show the ability to make touch throws and obviously the throws that require zip. the offence he was in did not really lend itself to those completion boosting plays that allow players with absolutely no shot at the nfl to complete 65%+ of their passes in college. So the 56% completion number doesnt bother me..the placement on the majority of his throws is good enough. Its interesting to note 56% is exactly the career completion of john elway..during his nfl career just a funny stat
  19. what a petty and ridiculous article...the rosen part was so unproffesional.
  20. That's only the pats offence due to personnel though..did you forget 2007-09 everything was vertical when they had moss..and it was more vertical when they ran the two te set with Gronk and the murderer Hernandez ...the eardhart-perkins can be anything you want it to be the playbook has everything
  21. That's a good thing though..I think you can teach an aggressive qb to be more patient but I've never seen a safe checkdown artist be willing to attempt those more difficult throws
  22. Not necessarily..the beauty of the Earnhardt Perkins scheme is its versatility ....I think daboll will run whatever scheme fits our personnel..at Bama last year he called alot of rpos..and alot more vertical shots than McDaniels calls in ne at this time .
  23. It's obvious the bills and all the qb needy teams had issues with Rosen's personality ..perhaps he reminds executives of another smug qb Jay Cutler ..but it also could be a thing like Aaron Rodgers who was Cleary the better prospect the Smith but probably turned people off during the process ..Rodgers is a very smug guy like Rosen than can rub ppl the wrong way..former teammates like driver and Jennings don't hold him in the highest regard
  24. While I can agree with most of your on the field analysis ..your leadership point is not really accurate ..there's different kinds of leaders ..Aaron Rodgers is very smug/ arrogant former teammates have called him out yet his winning speaks for itself. Jameis Winston is ur prototypical rah rah leader of men..that hasn't translated to wins
  25. That just shows the seperation between the media and actual front office people...the Colts knew Manning was the better qb and people forget Manning before the neck injury had more than enough zip on his throws. The only media member who is kinda clued in to how the NFL front offices work is Mike Mayock. People often mistunderstand his rankings he doesn't rank QBs only on his views on them as a prospect he ranks them based on how people in front offices he talks to view them . Hence why he has Josh Allen so high cus NFL people think he can be coached up .
