  1. yeah i agree with that..you can get a feel from certain teams that they are mentally defeated before playing the pats and some who arent scared at all..that year rex jets beat them they were not intimidated at all
  2. Theres always going to be a weakness on your defence and offense in the salary cap era..and there is always different ways of masking those weaknesses..this is prolly one of the weakest incarnations of the pats offence...gronk is past his prime...edelman is not getting younger and they have no outside threat...the point im saying i feel imo they could have done more..no ones gonna stop the pats offence but they could have done more to slow them down.. there are things you can do the reason why brady was getting the ball out so fast in the chargers game was the wrs were getting free releases...in the chiefs game brady had to hold the ball much longer because the chiefs pressed them at the line..their problem was not being able to cover the pats inside routes..and not having cohesive pressure packages. Half the battle of beating the patriots is mental the giants defence that beat them twice in the superbowl had weaknesses all over the place.
  3. There are still different ways to scheme around your weaknesses...that same broncos defence wade coached up got torched the year before when del rio was calling plays. the chargers have tons of talent on defence and especially on the d line a more creative mind could have come up with pressure packages and stunts that would disrupt the patriots timing based throws..the pats did exactly that to the chiefs they doubled hill and had their d line stunt and loop and create favorable matchups against the chiefs oline..the pats o line isn't the best in the entire league they can be pressured the bottom line is theres enough film out there that has shown what it takes to disrupt the pats offence...sitting back in zone will never beat them..if bradys able to just set up take his drop and have nothing around his feet all day hes gonna carve up your defence. weve seen that same scenario play out for our very own bills..week 1 and 2 got absolutely demolished by the ravens and chargers where we sat back in our cover 3 shell and just played passively until mcdermott took over the play calling briefly and we started using much more blitz packages and pressure oriented schematics the rest of the year.
  4. The only problem is thats gonna lead to fans 2nd guessing the replay reversals..theres gonna be plays like where receiver db feet tangle or both are tugging each other..and they call pi on the defence in a big moment or etc
  5. Yeah i understand that but there has been coordinators who have put together cohesive gameplans vs the patriots..the ravens have done it time and time again..so has defenses run by wade the pats have weaknesses you can attack as well..if you sit back in zone like the chargers did you have no shot so gus bradley is not absolved of any blame there..Bob sutton took way too long to adjust to the patriots run heavy approach where the pats went on marathon drives..which resulted in touchdowns anyways. He should not have waited till after halftime to change his approach.
  6. Well thats not surprising a defense that could get sacks and nothing else...pats were so fortunate to face two defensive coordinatoors in consecutive weeks with trashbin gameplans
  7. Another bill Belichick masterpiece I see people saying sometimes oh he's lucky he has Brady. I'm certain it's the other way around the guy is just different .
  8. Chan was a very innovative play caller from actually making Kordell Stewart look competent in Pittsburgh to making Fitz look like a franchise qb albeit for a few weeks ..his downfall though was his loyalty to these average players obviously he had a big hand in Fitz premature extension in buffalo ..and he never really seemed to have an overwhelming desire to work with an elite signal caller when he got to the Jets he brought in Fitzy asap
  9. The only thing for certain is Gus Bradley's gameplan was horrendous. The chargers essentially sat back in zone all game which resulted in Brady being as comfortable in the pocket as I've seen him since 2007 . If you're going to sit back against Brady the coverage better perfect or your d line better be able to generate pressure neither happened hence the blowout . despite chargers having plenty of talent ..gameplan reminded me of the bills 1st game vs Ravens and 1st half vs chargers before McDermott took over the playcalling sitting back in cover 2/3 no pressure getting picked apart by flacco and rivers clearly bills weren't 40 pts worse than ravens.
  10. I don't disagree I'd say they do have more talent overall
  11. Correct . The correlation with 99% of teams who have beaten the Pat's is physicality toughness and dominant pass rushers and very good to excellent coverage on the back end
  12. This is a classic case of being outcoached ..the talent gap between the Chargers Pat's isn't big at all..the Chargers have no answer for the Pat's jailbreak blitzes and defensively they've come in with the wrong gameplan
  13. its the most idiotic narrative honestly..even the worst nfl team ever would beat the brakes off the best college team.. Alabama got torched by johnny manziel a player thats in the cfl purgatory atm much less the nfl.
  14. God listening to witten is like torture
  15. E.J Manuel was never a natural thrower of the pigskin all you had to do was watch his college highlights..didn't even have to watch film to see a robotic rigid thrower with a misleading college completion pct. The fact that Jameis Winston was going to replace him the next year if ej didn't declare should have been red flags. You don't draft a QB in the first round when their incombent is vastly superior to them..and we all know how crab legs has fared in the NFL . Not to mention he was really done after the Jets game year 1 where he continually sailed sideline fade and go routes way out of bounds marrone was enraged on the sideline .
  16. This week is gonna be really interesting . Belichick likes to force QBs and offences in general outside their comfort zone ..hell spy Allen and probably bracket foster because Belichick doesn't overlook small details this will be a game where Zay and the rest have to get seperation and the run game is crucial .
  17. The throw on the corner route to foster was very refreshing to see..stood tall in the pocket scanned the entire field and put touch on the ball haven"t seen a bills qb make a throw like that since bledsoe?
  18. Romeo crennel comes pretty darn close or worse
  19. tredavious white having a rough couple weeks now..
  20. Despite being successful he was ultra conservative his reputation was definitely worse than it had any business being . Irrespective of his approach the Chargers were not the same team once norv took over they lost their toughness and mentality.
  21. Defensive gameplan today by McDermott/Frazier has been terrible reminds me of the colts game. White having his worst game in awhile
  22. Agreed pretty much how I saw it..pass needs more air will come with more chemistry and reps
  23. To me it seems to me a result of one of the things Josh is working on right now his velocity arc etc on throws..and timing the throw just needed a bit more air under it..that will come with time and chemistry ..so far he's thrown several deep balls to foster 2 were perfect jags and vikes game drop ..same vikes game 1st quarter he didnt put enough air under it foster was wide open for a TD deep.
  24. this. obv beane thought he would be productive enough to warrant the compensation he had atleast shown in carolina the ability to be competent 70 catches 800-900 yards
