  1. This is a classic Brady/Patriots/Bob Kraft type of thing. Their insecurity is laughable. Every time bloated Bob accepts a post game trophy or award, all he can do is talk about "greatest of all time" and "best in history" instead of just talking about his team and the dedication/skill/teamwork blah blah whatever. He always has to compare and defend and he worries so much about everyone being sure there was never a better franchise ever in the world since the beginning of time. I WILL admit, an 80 year old guy with a mullet like Bob's is pretty impressive, even for a Canadian. I wonder if his hairstylist is an oppressed Asian hooker like his massage lady? Anyway, I see the same thing in Brady with this kind of stuff. Edelman too. Michael Jordan had it and it was so pathetic. There are poor losers for sure, but nothing sadder than a poor winner. Then when the have to retire they get weird and even more insecure. OK Tom, you have a radar gun that SAYS your arm is strong. When we were all falling asleep during the superbowl as you took the field in the 4th Q and your team had only scored three points in the whole game I wonder if you felt insecure, like maybe you'd dropped from great to good. I see now you have.
  2. He and Shaq can be an excellent rotation. Both good at run stop and batting balls/changing throws. Trent is a good forced fumble guy too with those long arms. I think he'll be ready to rip it up on opening day.
  3. And the fans knew all along who the correct picks were right? Same fans slammin the Hughes and Shady trades probably. It's complete b.s.
  4. So true. This thread is proof of it. Thats what I like about Capaccio, for the most part he stays above that kind of crap. Football fans know Ford was a top prospect, and at this point we haven't even had pads on for a minute. Judging a guy at this point is the same as trying to grade a draft or a trade the day after it's made-- you have no freakin clue, and if you THINK you know it means you really understand nothing about the sport. When someone says "i don't like this pick" I start laughing. Yeah OK... let's compare the 10 page professional scouting report we did, including interviews with the player, former coaches, teammates, game film, and skills breakdowns with your amateurish opinion based on watching the guy play once or twice in college.
  5. All of the speed receivers have injury concerns. Hard for them to put up a full season, but if they can do it, the numbers will follow. Goodwin did it (not for us), and Brown had a big year himself a few years ago.
  6. Exactly. Ed was an undersized 1 tech in college. His role is entirely different as an NFL 3 tech. Some of the dudes posting on this thread are hilarious-- endless babble about how they know small school guys are going to fail blah blah. That must mean Shaq, Adolphus, Ragland and the hundreds of other big name college guys are the right way to go, and Beane/McD/Daboll and the entire staff of professional NFL scouts with lifetimes of experience in evaluation have no clue. Yikes. It's like when someone brings up politics and simplifies everything like "duh... let me tell you what the REAL way to run the country is" as if they somehow know the solutions to complex problems and challenges that all the other idiots can't seem to figure out.
  7. You must be a young fan. Bledsoe certainly did not suck. In 2002, his first season in Buffalo, he set single season records for yards, attempts, and completions. Better than Kelly Reed Lofton Thurman days. The dude was the youngest player in NFL history to hit the 10,000-yard mark (played in pro bowl at age 22), and was well over 4,000 yards passing that awesome year with Moulds and Peerless going over 1250 yds each. He was #2 in the league in passing that year, ahead of Manning, Brady, Brees, Favre (I assume you've heard of those guys). That's not sucking, that's being awesome.
  8. i think so too. the most important, unteachable quality for a good qb from my perspective is pocket presence, awareness of the pass rush and the ability to buy and extra second or two and still keep your eyes downfield. Not taking off too early or too late. Josh has that instinct, slippery in the pocket with a knack for keeping a play alive. Mayfield, Darnold and Josh all have it, but our boy might end up being the best of the bunch.
  9. It's the lamest nickname in the history of sports. Go nuts you weenie, get it tattooed on your neck.
  10. The biggest hassle with taking little kids to the stadium is when people stand on big plays they get screened. Just be ready to lift them up and have them stand on their seat when everyone else stands and an 8 year old becomes a normal 5'10 adult. Have fun!
  11. It's probably going to be a little bit of a hassle for a smaller person. I would consider bringing a few Stadium cushions for a child. The last time I sat in those seats was the Colts snow game, and if you were there you would remember that we couldn't see the field for most of the plays, so we had to slide down to some empty lower seats. Fantastic perspective of the field though, you really can see everything and despite the railing, which is a legitimate concern, you still will love them. My experience is that kids don't really care about the same things adults do, they'll figure out a way to look over or under the rail. If you got to your seats and determined that it was too tough for the little guy to see, I'm sure people in the second row or third row would swap with you in a second, but I'll bet you'll stay there and love the experience. There is a more aggressive angle in that Upper Deck so even from row two or three you are still in awesome shape.
  12. Dont forget randall's got the NFL record for best punt that ever was, and ever will be. The dude kicked it from the back of the endzone to the opponents SIX yard line. Unreal.
  13. Did u see Josh grab that catch with one hand backhanded at the end when they were doing the crossbar throw? Get that dude a TD reception Daboll....
  14. I actually have one of those, a little bigger but the same idea. Basically all they'd need are a few dozen wireless lapel mic's and a receiver attached to a 24 channel mixing board. All mic's muted except the active one. It's on of those things that's accepted because we're used to it, but it's ridiculous. At one point we were all starting at Daboll's face listening to a question we can't hear for a FULL minute. It boggles my mind. Even the major networks accept it. "uh....ok we can ping a 4k video from a moving camera on a zipline over the field of play up to space, bounce it off a satellite and re transmit it to your home, but for God's sake don't tell us you want to actually HEAR the questions asked at a press conference... who do you think we are the Jetson's or something...?" I sent Mike Catalana a twitter message about it, he said he'd pass it on.
  15. For the love of god can someone please figure out how to mic up the media so they can be heard asking their questions. This is SO ridiculous. I'm an amateur sound guy and I can think of a handful of adequate solutions. Of all the millions that go into the facilities, stadiums, players, etc. it's such a joke that nobody thinks to invest just a little time and money into solving the HUGE issue that nobody can hear the questions being asked. I don't care if you just hire a stupid intern that types the questions out in closed caption across the bottom, just solve the problem and get it done you fools it's embarrassing. Is this a good time for me to go on my other rant about how teams ignore kickers but they're the 2nd most valuable player on the team? Nahhhhh.
  16. That corner end zone fade to Zay was the best thrown ball of 2018 for the Bills Unfortunately you need more arm strength and less telegraphing than the Natester can muster if you're going to make all the throws in the NFL.
  17. Foster and Zay are good receivers. I do agree we've had some poor evals on some other guys like KB etc.
  18. I cant remember his exact combine strength stuff but Harrison was off the charts on a few things. Projected at the 1 tech as more of a backup to Star than Kyle. .
  19. There isn't a single guy that gets drafted in the 2nd round where somebody doesn't say "a lot of people had this guy as a 1st rounder," but like the OP said, there are a few guys that will likely be NFL players that he's facing, and from all the post-draft breakdown of this guy, he really DOES seem like a top talent. Eric Wood is really high on him too. Seems like an awesome dude from what we've seen so far. We have a lot of brute strength upfront on both sides of the ball right now. I still think pound for pound Dawkins has elite strength in run blocking, he can move linemen pretty well, and if he gets his hands on a LB they go back 10 yards.
  20. Yeah when I see the Raiders I see a team that won 4 games last year, let a lot of talent go, picked up some pieces to make up for it but isn't winning more than 5 games this season either. Poor Raiders fans, Oakland, L.A., Vegas... pinballing around from city to city with a total weenie as an owner. Don't even have a home this season. This guy makes Ralph look like a big spender. Disaster. Imagine trying to raise a family as a long time Raiders player or employee, Oakland, L.A. and Vegas are probably the bottom three places in the nation to raise kids and they hit em all.
  21. I like the idea of a Pancho statue outside the stadium holding up one hand for a good luck high five as fans walk into the stadium. Kinda like the ND Play Like a Champion Today sign that everyone touches on their way into the game. He'd like that too, being in the crowd was his thing, not on the stage.
  22. keep in mind this is the offseason and these guys have to run a 3 hour daily show. Imagine if you had to spend 15 hours this week talking about a rookie minicamp. Seriously, how exciting and engaging do you think you could be? It's not an easy thing to do without sounding like a schlep sometimes, as evidenced by pathetically burned-out Mike Schopp's complete disgust for his job that comes through every time he speaks (and he gets to include hockey and other sports where Tasker and Murph stick to the Bills). I remember when Tasker was a guest on the show, they get to come in with a fresh new take, different voice, new energy, former player, good insights etc. It's why Brownie and Sal are such a fun listen, they love the team and they come in with new energy. It's a lot like my wife vs my girlfriend, the poor wife doesn't stand a chance because I hafta hear her every....single...day....droning on and on about the same old minutia....blah...blah....bl--NEWMAN !
  23. Batting down balls for sure, and a few times he changed passes enough to cause incompletions. Shaq is a smart player, feels screens pretty well, can hold his ground on run blockers etc. He just got overdrafted and then injured, both of those things can nag a player forever. Here comes his chance to step into the light. Contract year, he knows the system, will be in a rotation that keeps him fresh. We might see Trent Murphy and Shaq both having productive seasons.
  24. I don't know much about twobillsdrive.com other than the fact that I visit the site everyday for at least five years. still can't figure out why a site that updates content everyday and even has a dedicated header link to schedule still has the 2018 schedule up. i was gonna have my buddy Dmetri hack in and do it but i didn't want to alarm anybody, and the Russians are already tied for the Patriots for worst people in the world.
  25. Everyone calls it a passing league but the Pats smoked the Chargers and Chiefs in the playoffs by running the ball against their pass-stacked dbacks. In the KC game alone they had 50 run plays. Sprinkled in some play action throws here and there, but controlled both playoff teams (and whipped us badly for 300 yards on the ground in NE) by handing off and pounding. When I see guys like Dawkins and Ford on the Oline it's hard not to think we could get back to the same ground attack we had with Shady and Touchdown Mike.
