  1. Ballard is a great GM and he's not afraid to be bold, but if Taylor goes down, this year he's going to regret this heavily. Don't blame him for taking the swing though. Now we have to go swing a trade for Calais Campbell the old timer still has the juice Cmon Beaner....
  2. there were a few callers on WGR post game griping about that play. We just had a huge win as home dogs over the hot streaking Chiefs, own the tiebreaker and dudes are harping on why we gave up a 4th and 17. Poor bastards, they're cursed to never really feel joy.
  3. Breaking your collarbone and getting concussed at the same time. Talk about a crappy day at the office. Hard to believe we could have taken Mike Evans instead of Sammy Watkins. And of course Khalil Mack, Aaron Donald etc. That was a very talented class.
  4. He is a starter. What a steal gettin that kid in the 4th. He will win DROY if he keeps this up. Huge add in a critical spot for this team. He and Ed, Bosa and Greg
  5. Yeah he's a big play guy. Has a knack for causing turnovers. Good thing we have him because we're hurting at LB. Defense should be proud of their 2nd half performance. Deone Walker wasn't talked about enough by the announcers, who (as much as I like Orlovsky) are a pretty lame team. Big Deone at 6'7 340 movin like a cat out there. He is the lone bright spot from our recent draft failures, a true late round steal that should have been a 1st rounder and may win DROY
  6. I agree but Ty Johnson and Ray need to get more inside the tackle runs. Ty isn't being used at all because Cook was so hot this season but he's a weapon we needed the other night.
  7. Groot and Solomon would be nice to see them get home a few times. Solomon was such a force in college, great leverage, bend. long and fast. He seems like he's had some really good reps going back to last year, needs to get pressures/hurries/sack numbers rolling now. Sunday night is a perfect time for it
  8. Yeah trading away Josh's best friend and a decent contributor mid season on a superbowl run year would NEVER happen in a million years. Beane isn't an idiot. Hendrickson on a one year deal from Cinci would have to be cap wizardry at its finest, but that's the one that would put us over the top IMO. I would give up some serious draft capital to make that happen, that dude is a pure game changer.
  9. I feel awful for our punter, this was the third time in a year he's been wrecked and two of them were season ending type injuries. Tasker mentioned today that there are certain snaps where the rushers will go all out and not care if they get a penalty depending on field position, circumstances like score etc. I'm surprised these punters don't take better precautions and wear knee braces and at least tape the crap out of their non-kicking ankle. Would this really affect their kicking ability? It sure would give them better job security.....
  10. Its a great offense from top to bottom, and the big uglies make it all possible. If I'm Beane I worry about the special teams (Ravens Hamilton inches away from blocked kick due to blown assignment) and the fact that the kicker and punter we had four weeks ago are both replaced now by free agents nobody wanted. Maybe they're both going to be fine, and we clean up the blocking assignments, but my Marv Levy trained spidey sense keeps going off w regard to special teams. Cmon boys, come through for us.....
  11. We will need them. A team that can't stop the run cannot win the superbowl. Our defense without Bosa right now is pretty blah. I feel like Hairston will inject some pop into the backfield and Hoecht will be fun to watch his impact too. Its my opinion that if Bosa isn't healthy we are looking at a Chiefs upset in our house. , even everyone seems to know his snap count is too high but Babich doesn't feel good keeping him out as much as he'd like.
  12. The first game we lose is the first one where Bosa is out. With McD and Babich insisting on playing him balls to the wall up by four scores with 7 minutes left in the game yesterday, it won't be long. Maybe McDumb will have us do another "extra hard" week of practice like last week and have us in full pads on Wednesday again so Ed can hurt his other ankle this time. smh
  13. They're gonna need to trade for DE if they keep insisting on playing Bosa balls to the wall when we're up 4 scores with 7 minutes left in the game. I swear McD was put on this earth to quietly sabotage this team from the inside. How about his "extra hard" week of practice that resulted in Ed's injury and obviously a normal week of practice would have been just fine, the Jets stunk and we blew them out. Meanwhile McDumb has us in full pads wednesday, more injuries to key players totally unnecessary.
  14. Hairston will have to beat out Strong and or Tre. Babich needs to know we aren't beating KC without Bosa unless Solomon really emerges, he needs to keep the old timer healthy and cant be using him on all three downs. His body just doesn't hold up to that kind of beating. Epenesa is invisible at this point, and we all know what happens if Pat gets to sit back there for 5 seconds.
  15. Lots of great stories from people who left early. Radios, parking lot TV's, my crew was in Kettles Bar and it was mayhem, he said he wouldnt have changed a thing if he could go back. also for some of us if you don't leave a little early you aren't getting home until 2am on a school night for these late games. Bummer we only have two 1pm home games all year.
  16. Our special teams has been a disaster as long as McD has been here. I wasn't surprised at all. We struggle just to get 11 guys on the field, many times its 10 or 12 guys. It WAS Hamilton, and it should have been a block and the Bills lose. But we got lucky, which is just as good as being well coached.
  17. All i know is you could tell McDermott was getting heavy instructions in his headset which made me feel better. He's proven over and over again that he needs assistance in these types of thinking man's situations and he got the proper direction from up above. All those years Sean providing assistance and guidance to players and we never gave the guy the help he needed to manage clock properly, challenge calls, and strategize in the heat of battle at the end of the 1st half and the 4th quarter. Somewhere up in the booth with all the OC's is an egghead with Tony Romo type clock/scenario processing in his head and chat gpt on this laptop laying out optimal time management plans on the fly. I guarantee it. Granted the special teams unit allowed a free rusher (Hamilton, possibly the best athlete on the field) but the ghosts of Rich Stadium still have some magic powers left and somehow he missed the block. Even ol McD and his special teams coach couldn't keep us from winning this one.
  18. Takes years for draft picks and trades to hash out. Nobody won anything yet. Once in awhile both sides even win. Dallas sucks at drafting so……. Two firsts arent equating to two stud NFL players
  19. Carter hasnt been healthy enough but flashed some talent his rookie season. No mention of ray davis or solomon? Cmon bro. Way too early to judge a class, although Bishop looks lost right now and in a redraft we dont take the guy.
  20. Shakir is way better at YAC. Diggs has a lot of lateral runs and tries his best but doesn't have the contact balance or vision that Shakir has. Cant beat Steph as route runner but you can beat his attitude and his aging body. They're both game changers, later round draft picks, one is a team player and the other is a ME player.
  21. yeah it was weird. hopefully injury related because two seasons ago before the pec tear, Daquon was a force out there.
  22. wOW great write up Gunner. Beane's best line about Max was it's nice when your area scout has a first round grade on a guy, plus your overall scout team AND he fits your needs and you can get him in the first without having to trade up. Man he seems like a Tredavious clone, same size, same smile, same energy. Will be fun to watch the kid. Idiot question: If we have a 5'11 guy with ball skills that can run a 4.28 does it ever make sense to have him run a go route against man coverage teams or even single high safety teams? Thats blazing, field stretching speed there....
  23. You mean Matthew "i got pictures of Pegula doin blow in a Tuijana cat house" Smiley?
  24. Mark Lubick has two roles: passing game specialist/game management. I wonder if game management includes clock/challenge and timeout management in-game? The highest priority I see is game management and supporting Sean/Brady at end of half and end of game clock management. We saw their disconnect at the end of the Houston game when Brady, in his first full year running the offense ignored Sean at the end of the game with a tie score who said “we need to be going for the 1st down here” after a 1st down pass from the endzone failed. As you may remember Brady called two more pass plays despite a light front from Houston and Cook already on the field, we’re forced to punt away, dont get to OT, and lose the game. (Nico Collins got hurt earlier that game and I believe we win that one in OT) If we win that game, the Chiefs would have had to play and win in Denver week 18 or we get the 1 seed. Why am I retelling this? I believe the greatest coaching weakness we have is end of half/game management. OC’s are tactical—they tend to think of the next play, moving the chains—and head coaches are strategic, they see the big picture, clock, remaining timeouts, situational forecasting, how to close out and finish. Seans weakness, our teams weakness is the disconnect between strategic and tactical coaching. He’s a great leader and teambuilder but needs help w strategy because Brady has showed us a lack of it as well. So when I see a list of coaches and one says game management, thats what I hope it entails, meshing the two functions so they take each other into account because that should be the loudest voice on the headset at the end of these games.
  25. I feel like Hollywood Brown is the most overrated WR in football. Inconsistent, often injured, and average player when he's actually healthy enough to be on the field. Still benefitting from the image of being great in college.
