  1. Hey man, next year we get the one seed and its all a different post season.
  2. We scored 30 pts a game and ranked 2nd in the league on offense. Certainly good enough to beat KC, Detroit and Baltimore because we beat all three. Offense comes down to QB and Oline. If those are solid then you don't focus resources there, you look at your defense who got happened to get slaughtered by Detroit, KC, Balt, even Miami and you see some holes. When people say "we need someone who can command a double team" I say Why? We had a better offense without Diggs. Is that really what you take away from watching this season? I saw a team that forced zero punts against Baltimore and could not stop anyone on 3rd down most games and all teams on their first drive seemed to just walk down the field and spot themselves 7 points. Beaner needs to go for Crosby or Garrett. We will be past Diggs and Von's cap hits. Make it happen.
  3. Yeah and the ball bouncing off Diggs neck on a perfectly thrown bomb last year and then Kincaids arms this year. Two normally sure handed dudes had chances to come up big for this team on game changing grabs and couldn't pull it off. Listening to a podcast interview w Kurt Warner he was putting some heavy blame on Brady for play calling on that last drive, especially the 4th down play. He says when you don't know where the blitz is coming from but you expect it, then you always split receivers to each side (not 3 and 1) and leave your RB in to protect and/or squirt out for a quick toss. He said stuff like that makes him want to be an OC. Lets face it, Brady learned a lot this year, he's still pretty green. We saw it in the Houston game when he called pass plays from the end zone vs a 5 man box, and the Rams game was poorly managed as well. Glad we have the guy, but all the talk about him somehow being an offensive genius is way overblown.
  4. Two dumb penalites in the biggest game of the year. Yeah we need that kind of quality player
  5. Not against man coverage that's for sure. He can be a zone beater if he works hard and find a role there because of his catch radius and body, but that dude is gonna have to really work his tail off and train with the right cats in the off season.
  6. Dissecting drafts is ridiculous. Everybody misses on picks and hits on others, including KC who lost six games last year. And quit pretending Worthy and his 3.4 catches per game average is some kind of powerhouse. We took Coleman and Dewayne Carter from that trade, I'll take my chances and see where they're all at in 5 years. We're evenly matched teams obviously. 4-4 going into the other night, we had the ball with 3:30 left and two timeouts and had already scored our usual 30 pts per game which is far better than KC has done this year. Our normally reliable TE dropped a ball that hit him in the arms, much like Diggs dropped a game changer off his neck last year. Last time we played the Chiefs we won by multiple scores and the last time we played in Arrowhead we beat them. Quit whining about how much better than us the Chiefs are. We're evenly matched teams. Flip a coin, sometimes you get four heads in a row and sometimes you get four tails in a row. Its how sports works. We beat a better team in Baltimore and lost to an evenly matched team in KC. We will be favored against them when we play next year just like we were this year in Buffalo. That's not checkers and chess its a great rivalry, the best in a long time.
  7. Looks slow. But so do almost all TE's Gronk looked like a lineman running around out there, but those taller dudes are striders (like Josh) and they can deceive you with how much ground they're covering. People take bad angles on long legged players.
  8. Kelce didnt look slow at all last week vs a very good Houston D that focused on stopping him but couldnt. He’s a TE so obviously he doesnt play fast, but his breaks are still quick and hard to defend, great knack for catching the bad pass, finding space in the zones. We arent stopping the guy, he’s gonna get 6-8 grabs, majority on 3rd down, probably a TD or two. Chiefs are scoring 30 (ish) on us, like any good offense has this year. All I ask for is that in the last few minutes, Josh has the ball and not Pat. Just give me that one thing O football gods, let us live or die going down swinging with our franchise qb calling the shots.
  9. Allowing Gabe Davis 4TD’s comes to mind. That should have been plenty. We know KC is scoring 30, and so are we. It will come down to the last drive(s). McD and Josh have both learned a lot and hopefully Brady has too along the way. Bass kicking well, Pacheco looks slower since broken leg, Chris Jones less snap counts lately, our O line better than theirs (or anyones). McDuffie will likely be on Shakir all game, he travels w #1’s, look for our TE’s and RB’s to have heavier loads, Coleman and Cooper just not enough chemistry yet for Josh to rely on as 1st read options. its our year.
  10. You dont need to say “back” story, all stories are about the past, just say story. (Peet peeve sorry bro) but seriously what a joy it would be if he came in as a third down specialist just wanting to get a final two years in here in Buffalo. He’s younger than Von.
  11. The defense is decent, they're not winning us any superbowls on their own but they're middle of the pack. Look we know this team very well by now, we give up 30 per game, we score 30 a game. Not shutting down anybody, but it's a fun team, a winning team, and I love watching these guys. Sean is going to be outcoached by Andy this Sunday, but that doesn't mean we still can't get the W. Last time we were there we won based on a stupid Offside penalty they committed, but last time we played the Chiefs we beat em thanks to Josh keeping Mahomes on the bench. This would be so amazing to pull this win out, praying for the Skins to win on their end, because Sean and Dan Quinn are the same kind of coach (great leaders, individuals) and we aren't getting outsmarted there like we would playing Reid or Sean Payton with two weeks to gameplan.
  12. Rex was great to interview and the players loved the dude. Total opposite of McD who is just coachspeak and cliche lines and never says a thing. But McD sure is better w the details, and has backed off his crazy micromanaging style he had early on. Pretty good delegator now. If only he had the Rex Ryan ceramic teeth he'd be all set
  13. He's an awesome leader and person. Hopefully he keeps delegating game calling stuff to others like Marv used to because he's shown that he needs help in that area. That's on Beane to get him the guys upstairs for clock management, time out calls, what to do late in the 4th q vs Houston, 13 seconds, etc. He's gotta quit saying "we'll learn from this", it's been 8 years bro you're there or you're not, and nobody's perfect so just get ol McD the brainy boys to support him and keep the dude forever.
  14. The difference between 4 and 1 is significant in any draft ever and i've been studying them pretty hard for 30 years even before Jimmy J's silly chart. Heck the difference between 1 and 2 is big. My guess is Mayo knew he was getting the Onion so he's probably laughing about winning the last game. It will change the entire landscape of the league in the future, that single game. So glad we handed them the game, it was like stealing picks from their draftboard and burning them.
  15. Joe will win player of the game at LB. He's perfect for this situation and will be all over the field
  16. McD was miked up and told Brady AFTER the 1st play on that last Houston drive "we oughta be going for the 1st down here" So at least he said something, albeit a play too late. There was still time for Brady to run it (they had a FIVE man box, playing prevent and Cook was on the field). I agree it was bad coaching strategy but Brady ignored Sean and tried two more pass plays. That certainly cost us OT and maybe the game, in which case Denver Chiefs would be a helluva game to watch this weekend. If you watch the OC's during the game they're frantically worried about getting the next play in on time and the right personnel on the field, its hard to work macro game strategy into it. Brady isn't good at it, like most OC's I think they rely on the HC to say things like Sean said.
  17. Dude what a great time, it was a nice way to close out the regular season at home. The stadium is obviously rough, and now instead of showing replays they just post a giant Fanduel banner on the old big screen, I think Pegulas 12 year old grandkid is running the AV program over there. And no flyover again after the national anthem, somehow they can't seem to coordinate that one either. Once in awhile they figure it out. Bathrooms, food, its definitely the worst stadium in the NFL but I still love it just for all the memories we've had there and what it represents. And despite all of that, all you need is a friendly fan base, great qb and some defensive action and its a fkin blast every time, rain or shine, warm or cold.
  18. You should watch more football then Start with the Bucs sitting their starters in the final game 6 years ago to get 1st crack at Jameis in the draft. Its not debatable. Clear tank. The Colts/Rams game prior to Luck draft also obvious. Players not trying i've never seen, but fielding a less than optimal team to get a QB that might be your ticket to a dozen years of playoff appearances is another story.
  19. Thats gonna be the reality. Chiefs arent beating Houston or Pitt. They shouldnt be favored in either game
  20. Yeah he may actually end up having a better career fhan Dalvin. Those boys can play ball.
  21. The 1 seed is the cheat code. Its essentially a free playoff win, rested players and your home crowd for both games. That's why I laugh at all people saying its just another win. We went from 2 games back to a half game back. That's not "just another win". I think we go to the bowl with the 1 seed and we don't go without it.
  22. Here's one for ya: Look at all the coaches Brady made great who sucked as head coaches without him as their QB Weiss Mangini Belichick Crennel Patricia McDaniels I'm probably forgetting some. They all were fired head coaches once TB wasn't there to make them look good. Josh did the same thing for Daboll and if he wasn't around McD would be back as a coordinator somewhere 100%. You either get lucky with a franchise qb or you're fired in two years.
  23. Mikie you've gotta lighten up man. Its OK. Baltimore is a very good team, (half asleep? that's a new one) But they've lost three games. I agree nobody has beaten us that badly in recent years but every team loses games every year. Heck the Chiefs lost six last year and still got the trophy. But this is a thread about Samuel, who is a surprise to me this season considering how talented he is. Dominant college player and a very solid NFL guy prior to this season. Super versatile and by all accounts he's a hard worker too. McD and Brady can be maddening sometimes but they seem to get the most out of their players, so I'm chalking this one up to a nagging injury that's preventing him from being explosive, getting separation. Whatever it is, we should have a play or two for this guy if and when he's healthy to jumpstart his confidence and break this ugly streak of non-impactful games he's had here.
  24. Every time I go to camp at St John Fisher near my house, Morris always seems to standout in practice with his grabs. I was proud of him battling last year in camp and kudos to Beane for keeping him over OJ Howard who we had guaranteed a decent sized contract and had to eat a lot of money there. In his third year now, big Q's was only targeted 14 times in his career going into the Miami game yesterday. That's a lot of husting and work for a very small amount of offensive action but the guy is clutch. He really does catch everything. And at 6'2 250lbs he's an ideal linebacker size for special teams. Came through for us in a big way yesterday. Happy for the guy he deserves it.
  25. Exactly. All eyes on the Chiefs game. Handing them a loss and winning the head to head will have huge implications late season. Balt has three losses now too, thanks Jameis.
