Despite the polite response, they kinda insulted Sammy when they traded him. I don't think he'll forget that snub so easily.

Groy is not a good center. Never mind "He did ok filling in." He's never been good. I hope that changes, but he couldn't beat out Wood and Wood hasn't had a solid season in years.

Andrew Luck to Bills speculation/chatter
GreggTX replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not? He's way better than any qb that could hit the FA market and you'd be very lucky if anyone in this draft turned out to be as good. It's true the Colts haven't been that good lately, but next to the Browns, they have the worst roster in the NFL. I'd be all over that deal. -
They'd be fools to cut Hughes. What they need to do is get another edge rusher to compliment him. He's not lazy and he can't do it all by himself. He is an above avg DE that gets too much attention because Shaq and Yarbrough are below avg.
-
I also think 2 DT's in the 1st is unlikely, but every year everyone tries to guess how the draft will go and every year nobody gets it right. I'd love Vita Vae and a Qb, OT, LB, Edge rusher or speedy WR in the 1st. There are a lot of holes to fill as well as depth to add. I think they will be reluctant to deal many picks away, but who knows?

What else is there? Is that a serious question? Do I need to provide a list? Is it OK because they're playing a game so racism is acceptable there? We don't know the facts, but you're already making excuses for racial slurs.

How to Save Football Players’ Brains
GreggTX replied to Niagara's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you're laughing at the notion of protecting the players from head and neck injuries, you're being foolish. Did you get a goood laugh when Junior Seau blew his brains out? Do you think it's hysterical that Jim McMahon can't remember anything for more than a few minutes? Some of the comments here are beyond stupid. Perhaps some have brain injuries themselves. SMH... -
If it’s my pick here is the Bills next QB
GreggTX replied to bills in oregon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we sign Cousins, an average QB, we'll be overpaying him greatly and locking the team into mediocrity for years to come. The same is true of all these FA QB's. Why do you think their current teams are letting them walk? It's not like when the Colts let Peyton go because they could draft Luck. No more average QB's! I'm starting to think just getting to the postseason once in a while is good enough for some of you. Not me. I want the Lombardi Trophy and everyone should know by now that step 1 is get a great QB ( not an average one) and keep trying until you do. Some would rather pay a so-so QB a king's ransom. You didn't learn from that Fitz fiasco? Really? -
Sal Capaccio: What you need to know about Brian Daboll
GreggTX replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No wonder he ran the ball so much. He has had absolutely nothing to work with at QB and little talent overall. -
Zay Jones played injured all season...
GreggTX replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Either way, I'm not writing him off yet. I bet there are guys in Canton today that had terrible rookie years. -
Once again I have to explain that Glenn is a solid OT in a time when OL of his caliber are hard to come by. It's obvious that replacing him would be a very difficult task, if not impossible. Granted this assumes that the foot surgery he recently had will restore him to 99%. This would be a real competitive disadvantage and I honestly don't think we'd do any better than Mills as a replacement as other teams aren't likely to let good OT's walk. As far as Dalton is concerned, he is marginally better than TT and we'd have to fork over probably more than he's worth since he once had a good season. We'd be locked into a mediocre QB for the long term. And again, I want to win the SB, not just show up for wild card weekend then go home.

Top 25 free agents per G.Rosenthal...
GreggTX replied to Kemp2Warlick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is an above average CB on the outside. I just meant that IDEALLY we'd have T White v1 and v2 on the outside, but yes. H's good. -

The only FA I really want back is Gaines, but I'd like him better in the slot with an upgrade outside, though we do have more pressing needs. We'll probably draft OL help too because 1- We needs an upgrade, 2- Richie might get suspended and 3- There probably won't be much opportunity to sign a good OL since they are so rare. I also think Glenn will return to form if that foot is finally fixed. -
You're assuming the guy they draft won't be good. Maybe he will be. They know their careers will be tied to that rookies success or failure, but they have to try. I couldn't agree more on NOT bring a "stop gap" QB though.

We have the need for speed, but we need that guy with great speed and hands that can keep opponents from loading up against the run. When Sammy was healthy, the long ball was a big part of our game and that was a big reason why our run game was better, imo. We don't have anyone like that any more. Thompson is ok, but not good enough to make other teams back off, especially with TT throwing. Still, Taylor had a very nice completion rate on those deep balls back then. Thoughts?

Bill's Cap Casualties Discussion
GreggTX replied to Jamie Muellers Ghost's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hughes is the ONLY guy in our front 7 that I'd want to keep LOL. Maybe if we had ANYONE else that could help with the pass rush he'd get more sacks, but yeah. He sucks because he can't do it all by himself. I'd love it if we could even get a 4th round pick for Lawson, though. With Kyle in steep decline, we literally could replace all of our DT's with dumpster dive guys and be better off. Brown and Lorenzo need to go also. Milano needs to get better, but he's made good progress. Has it escaped everyone's attention that Glen has been playing on a bad foot and has played at a high level in the past? Also, Elway and the Broncos would love to have him, but yeah. Good OL are a dime a dozen these days, right? -
ROY is a popularity contest. This means nothing. PFF actually measures results and they gave him the highest grade. I'll take PFF ROY over a popularity vote any day.

How about signing Romo AND drafting the future?
GreggTX replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NO!!! Why does everyone want us to throw a pile of money at a guy that can't win a SB? -
Alex Smith, assessment from a KC fan
GreggTX replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't another half-axx QB. That's all we've had in recent years. Draft the best QB we can and let him play. I get tired of hearing that playing as a rookie and learning a few things the hard way will destroy his confidence and his career will be ruined. That rule only applies if he has no talent and he's a wuss. Signing an overpriced QB that still gives us no chance to win a SB will only hurt our chances of eventually doing that. Think Fitz and that ridiculous contract Buddy gave him. -
Are you going to watch the rest of the playoffs?
GreggTX replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As far as I'm concerned, when the Bills are done playing the season is over. I can't honestly remember sitting through an entire game that the Bills weren't in or having the slightest interest unless it means stay home after 16 games or pass go and collect $200. They can cancel the rest of the playoffs for all I care. I'm just very anxious to see what our new GM can do with a full year for his scouts and all those picks and a little cap space. -
How difficult will it be to get back in 2018?
GreggTX replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am a LOT more worried about the Jets than Miami -- especially with the 'average at best' Tanny at QB. I hope he does stay healthy so we can sweep them again. -
We need a stop gap QB and it can't be Tyrod
GreggTX replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We already have a stop gap QB. I say if we can't get 'our guy', don't get stupid and sign an avg QB for big money long term or you're either gonna eat a lot of dead money or just remain an average team. The goal is not the playoffs. The goal is to win the SB and none of the current FA's look like they have what it takes. If we can't get a great QB, wait until next year. No thanks to all the guys that are FA's for a reason.
